Shit, i'm sorry about that  i honestly meant to say the Saints. lol.

    Now for the postgame analyses.

Finally, my Baltimore prediction is accurate. This team have been hurting my record  But on a more serious note, Baltimore were good against St Louis (although that's not saying much as STL are shit). I couldn't believe that they took a 13-0 lead at halftime. Baltimore's offense may not be the best but defensively, they are among the best. 1-0

    Bryant ......  1-1

The Dolphins have lost nine consecutive games, a franchise record. That's just fabulous. 2-1

The Green Bay/Washington game looked like fun actually. What made the difference in this game was defense. Washington fumbled the ball a few times and Green Bay took advantage of that. And that's exactly why they won 3-1.

Honestly, the Houston Texans amaze me. One minute, they're dope, the next they make the Rams look like the 90s Cowboys. 3-2

Kansas City Chiefs played some stellar "D" against the Bengals. It was also great to see Larry Johnson get his first TD of the season. For a mintue, it looked like the Bengals would come back weren't having none of that shit. 3-3

With the pairing of the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles, could one ask for a more boring game? And boy was it. I did like the Jets' blue and yellow uniform though. 4-3

The Titans are really screwed now that Vince Young is out. 4-4

The Panthers are another really inconsistent team in the league. 4-5

Without any doubt, the Pats/Cowboys game lived up to its hype. As i predicted, the Patriots won and boy, they won in style. I know it's becoming a theme of mine all season, but i'm prepared to keep saying it - the Pats are the best team in the fucking league. Fuck the Colts, it's all about New England right now. I honestly cannoy say whether 16-0 is a possibility right now but they sure have the talent to do it. 5-5

Another impressive team were the Chargers. Led by a resurgent LaDainian Tomlinson, they dismantled Oakland without any problems. In my opinion, Tomlinson's TD where he leapt over the defense was tied with Devin Hester's 89 yard run as play of the week. 6-5

Finally, the Saints have won a game again (sorry again JRem for calling them "the Hornets" ). Reggie Bush looked good doing his thang (no homosexual). I thought Seattle would come through but i was wrong. 6-6

Man, i had a rough weekend. 6-6. Hopefully, the Giants win 2nite and give me a 7-6 record.

haha...looks like i went 10-3 for the week boys. the Bengals lost, my Bears lost (by the way Cris and Jrem, i'm gonna have fun roasting your Dolphins and Saints for the rest of the season lol) and the Cardinals lost. i told you guys i would make a comeback!!! 8)

i may not be in first place just yet (and believe me, that time is coming :) ), but i'm just glad to not be in the cellar anymore. it's dark down there

Re: Sports NFL Results from 10/14, picks for 10/21+Monday Ni

Hey Wed, there was a little misunderstanding...your record before this past week was 38-38...including the week where you picked only 7 games...I put you at .500 for the season, since you didn't pick a full week until this past one! Which means that with your 5-8 record this week, you are now 43-46 as only 89 games have been played so far

By the way fellows here are the new records:

    Kenny-g: 53-46 (last week 44-32)
    JREM: 52-37 (last week 45-31)
    Bryant: 51-38 (last week 41-35)
    Cris: 49-40 (last week 42-34)
    Wedlock 43-46 (last week 38-38 )

Gentlemen, the season is long, Wedlock you still have time to knock us off...Kenny re-claims the first place (I hate him!!! :)), Bry makes a come back, unlike his Bears (heheheeee), the Saints continue to surprise, Cris is hanging in there (unlike his Dolphins)!! I like it!!! :)

Okay great.I didn't realize you included the 5 and 2 mark for 10/7. I know I have plenty of time for being on top, plus by joining late my record isn't really indicative of the season, but .500 was the best we could do.

Fun thread indeed!!! who's going to be the champ come the end of the regular season? then we'll have the playoffs...Yeaaah!

By the way, Kenny of course is 53-36, not 53-46!!! little mistake on my previous post!!! :)

    Peace!!!

Let's just wait until December to determine that, Bryant. The Bears are 2-4. The division leading Packers are 5-1.Let's just watch them one game at a time and see what develops. We have 10 games yet to be played......

    Re: Sports

I know, there's still plenty of football left, but Wedlock you have to admit that we've played some god awful football lately. Not even Urlacher is playing well. the only guys playing well are Hester (as usual) Clark, Olsen, Briggs and Tillman. the rest of the team is MIA. let's see how it goes against the Eagles on sunday.

    NFL Picks.

Dude, I'll be the first to concede that Hester was practically the ONLY thing giving us a pulse in the last two games, but with nearly 2 thirds of a season left, I wouldn't throw them under the bus just yet. That's all I'm saying,LOL.

Trust me, I am shaking my head at the situation, and I'm telling you---Kyle Orton would be good for a change at QB.I don't feel it with Greise like I guess I'm supposed to.Anyway, we'll just keep on with it.

Well, it's that time-a-da-week again. Aight now, let's do this:

Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills - Buffalo will edge out Baltimore because they're the healthier team.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Detroit Lions - Even though Detroit are over .500 and are playing reasonably well, i expect the Bucs to steal this one. Jeff Garcia is a very competent QB. New boy Michael Bennett should frighten Detroit with his speed, and most importantly, the Bucs' response to a very tough defense will put them above the Lions, if they perform.

Tennessee Titans vs Houston Texans - The Titans have one of the meanest defenses in the league, but do not have much offensive firepower. And that's why they'd be defeated this weekend. I really am tempted to change my mind and give it to them as Vince Young is expected to play, but i think he'd have a sub-par performance.

New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins - Next please .........

Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints - Against the Seahawks in Seattle last weekend, the Saints were unusually brilliant. I hadn't seen them put so much pressure on the opposite quarterback all season - shit, they had 5 sacks -. If they can put up another good defensive line and fire up the offense, the Falcons would be no match for them. The Falcons' defense is terrible and they cannot protect Byron Leftwich.

San Francisco 49ers vs New York Giants - The Giants are flying high right now; their "D" is great (they're fucking sack-happy) and their offense has (somewhat) entered the fray. I think they're still playing with that 0-2 chip on their shoulder and they will probably have another sack-filled game against the Niners.

Arizona Cardinals vs Washington Redskins - Arguably, last season Joe Gibbs and Al Saunders never got on as Gibbs prefers a run-oriented attack whilst Saunders prefers double-reverse-counter-option-screen-waggle plays. That is why their offense was shit last year. But they look great this season. I think Jason Campbell, whilst an inconsistent prick, will become a better player if the 'Skins stick to the Betts-Portis one-two combo. Washington are playing a simple, conservative yet brilliant offensive scheme and that should be enough to beat Arizona.

New York Jets vs Cincinnati Bengals - Let me tell you why i picked the Bengals - because the 'Gals will stack eight defenders in the box to counter Chad Pennington's threat.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders - I really don't care for either of these teams and don't really know why i picked Oakland ...... other than the fact that i couldn't give a shit about either one

Minnesota Vikings vs Dallas Cowboys - Adrian Peterson is a stud as is Steve Hutchinson but you really cannot beat Dallas by running the ball. Passing the ball well on offense (me think the Patriots) is what will kill the 'Boys but luckily for them, the Vikings are not the Patriots.

Chicago Bears vs Philadelphia Eagles - Bryant, you know i'm going for you here  . Seriously, man, overly defensive teams crumble after a while. The Bears were riding their defense all last season (if not so, why did they choke in the Super Bowl) but now, the way they give up rushing yards is astounding for a team who made the Super Bowl some 8 months ago. If the Eagles can stop Devin Hester (God, that guy's a beast) and the Eagles can rev their offensive engine, they'd climb into .500 easily.

St Louis Rams vs Seattle Seahawks - Even though Seattle have been bummed and haven't been able to get anythang right in the past few weeks, the Rams are just as bummed, if not even more bummed. As a result of that, the Seahawks will claim the lead in the NFC West.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Denver Broncos - The Steelers will win if they do the following (which i expect they will): attack Denver's offensive line and force Jay Cutler to make quick, critical decisions, which he'd most likely screw up.

Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars - The Jaguars are sitting pretty right now after four straight wins. I actually believe an upset is possible against the Colts but Manning controls the ball like no other (well, maybe Tom Brady but you get the drill). I know the Jaguars are going to get their hopes high after their four wins but i expect a gritty, hard fought road win for the Colts that will keep them above the Jaguars.

Very good picks Laydeezman...and good comments too...your football knowledge is impressive...BUT...here I am to beat you (and the rest) with my picks!!! :)

Baltimore at Buffalo: Buffalo has no offense...Ravens do!!!

Tampa Bay at Detroit: Well...why not? :)

Tennesee at Houston: If Young is banged up, so is Tennessee

New England at Miami: might be closer than most think!

San Francisco at NY Giants: The Giants have found IT!!!

Atlanta at New Orleans: Have the real Saints finally stood up???

Arizona at Washington: Redskins are mad they lost to bad Brett

NY Jets at Cincinnati: Two teams in disarray...Bengals win!

Kansas City at Oakland: Larry Johnson may have found IT too

Minnesota at Dallas: If it were in Minnesota, maybe!

Chicago at Philadelphia: Good Brian or bad Brian???

St Louis at Seattle: Rams nation, think "NFL draft"

Pittsburgh at Denver: Pitt quietly wins and wins

Indianapolis at Jacksonville: Manning vs Brady, unbeaten!

Okay, let's see if i'm ready to reclaim the lead i lost oh so many weeks ago. It seems like an eternity. I crave the feeling of being on top again. It's refreshing. :)

    Baltimore at Buffalo
Baltimore is missing a lot of players in this game, but i think Buffalo is just that bad. If J.P Losman was starting i would say "maybe" because him and Lee Evans are a good 1-2 punch, but like i said, the Bills just plain suck, so there's no way i'm picking them, ever.

    Atlanta at New Orleans
I just don't think the Falcons have enough to win this game, despite them sitting down John Joseph Harrington and starting Leftwich. Leftwich really isn't even an upgrade when you think about it. I'm only picking the Saints because of how bad their opposition is, not because i think they're a team on the rise, which they're clearly not.

    Cardinals at Redskins
I'm picking the Redskins because they're at home, and they've shown more consistency than the Cardinals. They should win this game.

    Niners at Giants
There's no way in the world i would pick the Niners to win this game. No way no how. Giants win this game easy. They keep rolling until further notice.

    New England at Miami
Cleo Lemon vs. Tom Brady?? wow, enough said. Let's move on please.

    Tennessee at Houston
Vince Young is questionable for this game, but even without him, i think Kerry Collins could step in and get them the win if need be. The Texans just aren't as good without Andre Johnson at wide receiver. The Titans will win this game somehow. I don't know how they do it, but i think they find a way.

Tampa Bay Bucs at Detroit Lions
I'm really not sure about this pick, but I think Tampa Bay wins this game, despite playing on the road and in the dome. The Lions aren't a very good team when going against top defenses, as demonstrated by what happened to them when they played the Redskins. Jeff Garcia doesn't turn the ball over much, and Joey Galloway is a good receiver. Bucs should win on the road and keep their streak going.

    Chiefs at Raiders
I think the Raiders are a better team with Culpepper at quarterback, not to mention their run game is much improved. I just think the Chiefs have a better chance to win because their skill players are better than the Raiders skill players. Gonzalez, Johnson, Bowe, etc...are all better than than anything the Raiders have on their roster. Chiefs should win here, and keep rolling to victory.

    NY Jets at Cincinnati
I don't think there's anyway the Jets have a chance to win here. If they do, it would be a monumental collapse by the Bengals. Not that they're any good anyway, but they're a heck of a lot better than the Jets.

    St. Louis at Seattle
I think the Seahawks will win this game, even though they're playing terrible football right now. Without Stephen Jackson, the Rams are just garbage. It's sad to see, really.

    Chicago at Philadelphia
Haha...i know my Bears are playing like crap right now, but i really don't think we have a bad team. We're just not playing very well for some reason. Super Bowl hangover maybe? If we stop Westbrook this week, i think we'll be okay. Hopefully we get the win and get back on track. Hey, i can keep hope alive can't i? :)

    Minnesota at Dallas
Dallas will find a way to stop Peterson and get the win. Not much more to be said for this game.

    Pittsburgh at Denver
Pittsburgh is going to beat Denver. I don't think there's anything more that needs to be said really. Pitt wins here.

    Colts at Jaguars
I think the Jaguars do just enough to win this game. The Colts won't be going undefeated, and i think this will be one of their losses for the season. Jags are just too good running the football, and Harrison is banged up a bit, so i like the Jags here in the upset.

Here we go with mine time to get Im feelin this week:

BAL over BUF - Baltimore's defense got off to a slow start, but here they go again 4-2 right behind us.

TB over DET - Too easy.

HOU over TEN - Tennessee made sort of the mistake of building there offense around vince young now that he is out, their winning record will start to get narrow starting here.

NE over MIA - Just an extra day of practice for them.

NYG over SF - G men looking for crush.

NO over ATL - Not sure if new orleans is there, and this aint the team to challenge them whether they are or not, just another stepping stone.

WSH over ARZ - Washington....why not? That defense is too good to let tim rattay pick them apart.

CIN over NYJ - They are mad and last year when they were this mad, they beat baltimore late in the season AND stopped the run.

KC over OAK - Rumor has it priest holmes is suiting up for this game and if they put him in, hey oakland DANGER! Too all pro runningbacks dragging you up and down the field.

DAL ove MIN - It will be close because you can run on dallas YO ADRIAN! (I had to say it just at least once  ) But tony romo has way too many weapons even though they got beat by the patriots they did give them a game and scored higher than anybody else did on them, they are for real that bufallo game was a fluke.

CHI over PHI - Donovan Mcnabb has yet to beat a good defense and even though they got torched by MIN last week bears have a good defense and trust me....THEY ARE MAD RIGHT NOW! :x and an angry defense in football is similar to the incredible hulk don't get them angry....you wouldn't like them if when their angry.

SEA over STL - JREMINATOR Took the words out of mine and the rams fans' mouths

PIT over DEN - Denver is looking like a runningback's dream, I don't think denver can handle a spread offense remember what happened when peyton spread em out last year...and steelers just keeps building that spread offense up more and more like bruce ariens said they showed anything yet(I wonder what else they got.) Jrem you are right they are quietly winning and winning kind of reminds me of that stretch they went on in their superbowl year.

INDY over JAC - I want them to win, becuase that is going to be one of the best battle of the unbeaten games in sports history I think, I need to see that game.

LET DO IT!,.....DO IT!,......DO IT! See ya'll monday!

Man, this week looked tricky as hell given my picks. Let's see how i did:

The first game was just what i expected it to be - two shit teams without any consistency and ability to score. However, i must applaud the Bills for holding the Ravens on third-and-1 and fourth-and-1. 1-0

Jeff Garcia performing or not, it seemed that the Lions were going to stuff the Bucs. Their defense was lion-like and they looked prepared.
They blocked a punt, picked up two fumbles (and turned them into 14 points); doesn't get no better than that. 1-1

The Tenneessee Titans/Houston Texans game was really good. Here's a key stat for you guys: The Titans outgained the Texans 155 to 39 on the ground. And that's why the Titans won. 1-2

I really hate to sound like i'm jumping on the bandwagon, but the Patriots week in, week out always remind everyone why they're favorites to win the Super Bowl. Just check out Tom Brady's line: He threw for 354 yards and a career-high six TDs, including 281 yards and five TDs in the first half. Now that's a Super Bowl caliber quarterback. Granted, i know it was against my shitty ass Dolphins but the Patriots can whoop any team's ass right now. 2-2.

Reggie Bush, it seems, is now starting to get his groove back. Dude torched Atlanta's "D". That his run through his three Altanta players that gave the Saints 20-16 lead was beautiful. But then, the Falcons are 31st in the NFL at red-zone touchdown efficiency. Wow. real sweet. 3-2.

Where were all the Redskins stars for their game against the Cardinals? Because they seemed non-existent to me. 4-2.

Here's a noteworthy fact : Chad Johnson has not scored a TD since Week Two. 5-2.

The Chiefs/Raiders game was perhaps the worst of the week. Although there was something worthwhile picking out of it. Jared Allen picked up his ninth career multi-sack game to finish with eight tackles and two sacks. 5-3.

Dallas QB Tony Romo completed 31 of about 40 passes for 277 yards and one touchdown. Marion Barber finished with 96 yards and a TD. Dallas run the ball very well and because they have very fast rushers and are very adept at running the ball, it's hard to beat them by doing the exact same thing. 6-3.

Bryant, i must say that ever since Griese benched "sexy Rexie" (God, i love calling him that ) he has put up some good numbers - and the Bears have been winning. The guy was gritty and made some important and well calculated decisions. It was really clear that Philly understood the threat Devin Hester poses and did their best to prevent him from returning the ball. Had they been aware of the whole team's threat, maybe they'd have won. 6-4.

The Giants are really, really scary these days. Giants' DE Osi Umenyiora (naija in the house ) sacked Trent Dilfer, took the ball and raced for 75 yards for a touchdown. That set the pace for the Giants and from then on, they ran away with the game. 7-4.

The Seahawks sacked Bulger seven times -- including four by defensive end Darryl Tapp. The Rams also didn't get to the end zone all game and Bulger turned over the ball 3 times Now, if a team does all that in a game, do you think they deserve to win? I don't. 8-4.

I said that Pittsburgh would win if they put pressure on Jay Cutler, but they did not and they (deservedly) lost. 8-5.

Hopefully, the Colts win tonight and give me a 9-5 record for this week.
