Man, are the Bears done or what??? Hehehe, even though they mess my record (0-1 so far), I'm not unhappy my dear Bryant!!! hahaha

Ok, let's move on to sunday's game!!

ps: Mister Kenny-g did not pick this thursday game...I think that by rule it should be an 0 and 1 for him...do you agree guys??? C'mon Kenny, where were you??? leave that girl alone :)

Yeah, my Bears blow. They're horrible right now. Collinsworth was dead on when he was talking about how some teams are professional looking, and some teams aren't. The Bears aren't. I mean, six penalties on one drive alone? Are you kidding me? Rex is probably out for the season with a knee injury  Griese comes in and immediately throws back to back picks, our run game is horrible, Urlacher is hurt, Hester is underutilized, our offensive line couldn't block a pee wee team, our coaches are incompetent, our wide receivers can't catch or get separation (besides the occasional circus catch from Berrian...too bad he drops all the easy ones though). The list just goes on and on with this team.

It's time to blow this team up and make some changes. I hope we finish 5-11 just to get better position in the draft so we can take the best offensive lineman prospect on the board. The draft can't come soon enough for this horrible mess of a team!!

    Re: Picks.

Hey Wed, I just saw this post...I think we should take weeks 16 games at a time...it makes it easier...
So, starting from thursday to monday, all games are included in the same week! So the Saturday games will go along with sunday games and the monday nighter...and that should always add to 16 games!! Well, rejoice, that gives you a better record for last week than the one you had posted, bcoz you had literally just ignored the 3 other games my brudda!

    Alright man later :) !!!

Time to get down, with the get down, let's go:

CIN over STL - Don't let that steelers game fool ya, they are good...too bad for them though they started coming on late in the season.

DAL over DET - Dallas had a long layoff, but lions couldn't beat a cold right now.

GB over OAK - Oakland is doing good right now, might give them some trouble, keyword though is some, brett favre bounces back and the defense especially after allowing dallas score all on em, they'll be pretty pissed.

BUF over MIA - I officially want to see an 0-16 team now, didn't realize they were that bad even the steelers who lost to them didn't allow that kind of scoring, in the words of wwe wrestler ron simmons DAMN

TB over HOU - Too much defense for em to handle.

TEN over SD - Albert Haynesworth is back, so they are back on track and vince young is finally reving up the passing engine.

JAC over CAR - Jacksonville bounces back easily over the less intimidating panthers.

PHI over NYG - Mcnabb is one of the best QBs when back form inuries or bye weeks, So giants are in trouble.

SEA over arz - Like I said they are going to win this division, go to the playoffs knock a higher seed off in the wildcard, lose the next.

MIN over SF - YO ADRIAN. I think he just might break his own record in this game.

Wait for it.....Wait for it......PIT OVER NE - Thats right I said it, I said it. But for real the reason why new england has struggled the past 2 weeks because they met good defenses that ranked in the top 10. Philly was ranked 8th when they met them and ravens was ranked 5th. They finally met competition on the otherside of the ball and was rattled by it, they didn't know how to face it, but got away with wins. Thye thought those were tough now they are meeting the number 1 defense and judging by how bengals couldn't get a score on four turnovers
and 16 downs in steelers territory that defense's inconsistency is fading and fading fast, the offense still got a little bit to go, but it's only a matter of time before their inconsitency fades. Lets not forget The Steelers under Big Ben since he took over is 12-1 in december. Trouble, Trouble, UPSET UPSET.

Cle over NYJ - They didn't perform to well in last game against arizona which led to them having to go through that controversial play.

Den over KC - Only because denver can run the ball, KC can't. These two teams are up and down, but alot of down going on with these two.

Indy over BAL - Indianapolis played their defense when they were number one last year and beat em, they beat em when they were up, they'll most definetely will beat em when they are down.

NO over ATL - Something's gotta give, atlanta been giving all season

Great start for the week for me, but of course that was only one game (beware fellas, i'm getting clutch):

St Louis Rams vs Cincinnati Bengals - This game is a pretty meaningless between two letdowns. The Rams have won 3 of their last 4. They did real good against Seattle some two weeks ago where they sacked Matt Hasselbeck five times. However, both sides would love to prove that they're better than their record suggests. Expect a high scoring game with the Bengals winning by a touchdown or more.

Dallas Cowboys vs Detroit Lions - Isiah Thomas may be the least deservedly hired GM in current sports, but Matt Millen sure isn't far behind. If Detroit lose this Sunday, this will be their 5th straight in a season where they have been flip-flopping for the most part. The Lions' offensive line if frigging horrible - they've allowed a league high 51 sacks. Doesn't that spell out why they deserve to lose?

Oakland Raiders vs Green Bay Packers - Hmm, playoffs are near with Brett Favre out and the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC goes through Irving, Texas (please forget the Seahawks now). They need Favre back as soon as possible but they should be fine without him against Oakland. Jamarcus Russell looked decent last week but don't expect him to overtake Josh McCown.

Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills - Not this week, fellow Dolphins' fans. I also happen to believe that the Bills are an underestimated team but can work wonders. Their defense is decent and they've been able to hang around .500 by beating the teams they are supposed to beat, unlike Chicago and New Orleans. This should (read: will) be their easiest win of the season yet but don't print out playoff tickets yet, Bills fan because your closing three games are far from straight-forward. The Bills close out with the Browns, Giants and Eagles. This game should be able to give them some momentum.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Houston Texans - There are two things about the Bucs that i find hard to believe : they fact that they are 8-4 after last season's 4-12 misery. Secondly, the fact that Joey Galloway is 36 years old. Seriously, this team have got to be the suprise package of the year. Even with the arrival of Jeff Garcia, no one gave them a shot. Now they're about a game close to playoffs. They'd have an easy game here.

San Diego Chargers vs Tennessee Titans - Vince Young has thrown 7 TD passes and 14 picks. The Titans' leading rusher, LenDale White, averages 3.6 carries a carry. Meanwhile, the Chargers are looking like a Super Bowl team, playing that stellar defense that they didn't have in the playoffs last year. It'd be close, but the Bolts will take this one.

Carolina Panthers vs Jacksonville Jaguars - Vinny Testaverde should sit his old ass down and retire already. Last week, Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew hit the Colts with 156 rushing yards. Jacksonville's defense was equally brilliant, and the played the way you should play when playing the big guns in the NFL. They'd love to take out the frustration of losing by 3 on a subpar Panthers team who won only their first home game in a calendar year. Expect a double digit victory.

New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles - Eli Manning is too shaky and inconsistent. Kenny is right, McNabb is always dangerous whenever he returns from injury so they are in big trouble. However, a few Eli Manning errors and a big performance from Brian Westbrook won't hurt either.

Arizona Cardinals vs Seattle Seahawks - This one is fairly simple. San Francisco 49ers are 1-9 but 2-0 against the Cardinals. Whats more, they're banged up (Adrian Wilson and Larry Fitzgerald are out for the year) whilst Seattle are very healthy (and brilliant).

Minnesota Vikings vs San Francisco 49ers - The 49ers may be the worst passing team in the NFL whilst their opponents maybe the best running team. Another big game from Adrian Peterson.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs New England Patriots - Yeah yeah yeah, "spygate" happened. The Patriots cannot run the ball. And then there was last week's thriller in Bodymore, Murderland. All of a sudden, everyone thinks this will be a shoo-in for the gold and black. Don't even get me started on the so-called conspiracy for the Pats to go 16-0. The 1972 Dolphins shouldn't get their glasses and champagne out yet, because if the Pats win, to paraphrase Ja Rule (except the use of the N word), it's a wrap niggas.

But to be fair to the underdog rooters here, the Eagles and Ravens played their absolute best. But all of this bullshit about "finding a blueprint to beat the Patriots" is exactly what it is - bullshit. There ain't no damn "blueprint". That "blueprint" is playing good defense, make Brady pass less (gee, does that ever happen) and for God's sakes, don't ruin your chances with some dumb ass late penalties and timeouts like the Ravens did last Monday. The Steelers are a better team than the Ravens and Eagles. They'd probably send out the zone blitzes and control the ball on offense better than the Ravens did, but New England are still New England.

I know that the Steelers are the fashionable pick for an upset and is the league's last great hope but do the math, overall the Patriots are a better team. I believe they have learnt from the mistakes they have made in the past two games and they'd come out with the mindset they had against the Colts some weeks back.

    That's my word.

Cleveland Browns vs New York Jets - Karma sure is a bitch. After Phil Dawson's pinball field goal two weeks ago against the Ravens, Kellen Winslow was forced out of the end zone at the end of the fourth quarter in that loss against Arizona. However, the Browns will be able to take solace in the fact that the Jets are 1-9 against teams that aren't the Dolphins.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos - The Broncos are as up and down as a crack addict. However, the Chiefs do need to get their QB shit sorted out. Therefore, i like the Broncos because they are younger, more capable on offense and they're at home in the freaking cold Mile High City.

Indianapolis Colts vs Baltimore Ravens -What do these two teams have in common? They like to whine after defeats by the Pats. On a more serious note, the Ravens were the better team last Monday. They did their homework, but unfortunately it wasn't good enough. They badly want to beat the Colts to prove a point, but that won't be good enough. However, the good news is that they've already proved the point and that is the fact that they can scare even the best teams in the league.

New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons - It's hard to believe that the Saints are struggling given that Drew Brees has been sacked only 11 times (that's five fewer than Mr Tom Brady). However, the problem lies in their running game. They are ranked 28th in rushing yards and clearly, Reggie Bush is not the great hope everyone had placed on him. Tough luck for them but they really want to get to the playoffs again. I pick the Saints to narrowly escape safely.

Okay, there's only a few weeks of the season left, and i'm like 10 games back out of the lead  so i'm gonna be picking a lot of upsets to try and get myself caught up. Let's see if i can get lucky. :p

    St. Louis at Cincinnati

Marc Bulger is out, and his backup Gus Frerotte is out too. Brock Berlin is starting at qb for the Rams, and that's not good. Bengals win easy here, even though Carson Palmer has been terribly inconsistent of late.

    Dallas at Detroit
I really don't see any scenario in which the Lions win this game. Roy Williams is out for the season, Calvin Johnson is being underutilized, the running game isn't there, the defense is giving up big plays, and the offensive line can't block. On the other hand, Dallas is clicking on all cylinders, and i don't see that stopping any time soon.

    Oakland at Green Bay
Josh McCown had a pretty good game last week throwing for a couple of touchdowns, and Huggy Bears' son is running that rock effectively down there, but Green Bay is at home, and Favre should be recovered, and ready to play.

    Miami at Buffalo
Wow, the Dolphins are just horrible. I really want to pick the Dolphins in the upset here, but they don't have any players on the roster that you would put your faith in. Tedd Ginn? John Beck? Zach Thomas is on IR. The Bills are banged up, but the Dolphins are just sooo bad. I don't see them winning a game this season. An 0-16 record is their immediate destiny.

    Tampa Bay at Houston
It basically boils down to this. Luke McCown and Joey Galloway, or Sage Rosenfels hooking up with Andre Johnson in that dome. Even though Matt Schaub has been injury prone, Sage Rosenfels has come in and lit up the scoreboard on some occasions. I like the Texans in this game, with Mario Williams coming off the edge for a few more sacks. The Texans are looking smart now for taking him over Reggie Bush.

    San Diego at Tennessee
I really like Tennessee when Haynesworth is healthy, but because i'm going to have to make a lot more upset picks, i'll go with San Diego. Shawn Merriman is getting to the quarterback like he was last season, and Antonio Cromartie is a pretty good ball hawk. Maybe they can pick off Vince Young a few times for the win. LT is running the ball pretty well now too.

    Carolina at Jacksonville
I don't think there's any way the Carolina Panthers can come away with this win. I'm with Cris, Vinny should just hang those cleats up already! he's soooo old. David Garrard is a stud at qb, as he throws a really catchable ball, and doesn't turn it over, and their running game and defense are both great. Jacksonville should win easy here.

    NY Giants at Philadelphia
I personally think that the Giants are one fluke of a team, and are lucky to be the wild card leader, but i'm going to pick them in this game just for the sake of getting my record caught up lol.

    Arizona at Seattle
The Seachickens are playing very well of late, but so are the Cardinals. Kurt Warner is passing the ball really effectively, and even though i don't necessarily like making this pick, i'll go Arizona in the upset.

    Minnesota at San Francisco
I think this is a trap game for the Vikings. Even though i think they're playing really good football right now, i just see them walking in here overconfident, and getting spanked by a lousy niners team. I think Tarvaris Jackson will take a step back in this game, and let the Niners hang in there for the win. But if the Vikings score another 40 points and win, i'll be officially on their jocks.

    Pittsburgh at New England
I really don't know whose going to win this game. The Steelers aren't very good on the road, and that has a lot to do with Willie Parkers ineffectiveness when they're away from Pittsburgh. He's good running at home, but on the road, he seems a little less explosive for some reason. I'm totally not sold on that sorry Pats defense, and think they can be had. However, i think the Patriots are going to play their best game of the season, and come away with a win. That's just what i think. If this game were being played in Pittsburgh, it would be a totally different story IMO.

    Cleveland at NY Jets
That was a setback last week for Cleveland. They need to beat teams they're supposed to beat, and that starts with the Jets. I really don't see any reason why Cleveland can't win this very winnable game.

    Kansas City at Denver
The Broncos always own the Chiefs when they play "in" Denver. I don't see that trend stopping now, as Herm Edwards continues his annual quarterback carousel. Denver should win here.

    Indianapolis at Baltimore
I think the Ravens are going to come out a little flat in this game. I mean, they had New England on the ropes, and caved when it mattered most. That's very deflating for any team. The Colts are a good team, and a team on the rise, especially considering that they have been winning "without" marvelous Marvin for all this time. I think the Ravens are done after that deflating loss last week, so the Colts should win here.

    New Orleans at Atlanta
Reggie Bush is likely out for the season from what i'm hearing, and even though Atlanta is not great defensively, they rank 10th against the pass. Drew Brees is going to be throwing a lot without a running game, so that plays into the Falcons hands quite a bit. The Saints are just as inconsistent as the Bears, and i fully expect them to succumb to a similar fate by losing to a terrible team that they're supposed to beat, which will seal their season. I'm picking Atlanta in the upset here.

Bry, looks like you had a good week, my man. Well, let's see how i did:

Even though the Bengals won, it seems like they just cannot convert for 6. Most of their points came from field goals. What is really wrong with this team's passing game? Still, they won so, yay me. 2-0

With their win at Detroit, the Cowboys clinched the NFC East division title. And they did it in style. Tony Romo threw a 16 yard strike to Jason Witten to win the game. I'm telling you guys, this man is the truth like Paul Pierce. The Cowboys have scored at least 24 points in every game this seasonand Tony Romo has had a TD pass in the past 17 games. He's the new Brett Favre for real. Here's hoping he can perform just as well in the playoffs. 3-0

Will Blackmon's punt return for a TD really got the ball rolling for a superb Green Bay offense. In scoring two TDs from a special teams play, he became only the second person since Lemar Parrish to do so. Not to be outdone, Brett Favre threw two touchdown passes to lead the Packers to one of their easiest wins, the best one being the 80 yard bomb to Greg Jennings. Bryant, i'm telling you, Greg Jennings is every bit as competent as Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. I know that seems like an overstatement but just look at the man's game. 4-0

Seriously, how does a guy fumble the ball without even being touched?  Well, John Beck sure did prove it possible against the Bills. The ball slipped out of his hand and the Bills CB, whoever it was, picked it up and returned the fumble for a TD. Beck was subsequently benched and his replacement was even worse, throwing two interceptions and no touchdowns. Honestly, i could totally empathize with the Dolphins' fan who had up a sign that said, "All i want for Christmas is a Dolphins win". Couldn't have said it better. 5-0

Bry, how did you predict that the Texans would win? If we recall, i predicted an easy win for the Texans and boy, was i wrong? They stifled the Bucs' offense and Andre Johnson took care of thangs on offense. Morlon Greenwood was all over the field with 13 tackles and one sack, while Sage Rosenfels completed 75% of his passes against the fourth ranked defense in the league. Big win for them. Could we be looking at a wild card place here? We'll have to see. 5-1

Now i know that i've already written off the Chargers this season (and i still stand by it acutally) but man, LT showed us why he's the reigning MVP. You couldn't ask for a better effort in crunch time than what we saw. Tennessee, on the other hand, might have kissed goodbye to their playoff hopes. Their final few games, except for Indy, are not tough (Kansas City, New York Jets and Indianapolis) but that also depends on what other teams do. Needless to say, they must win at least 2 of their last 3 to have any chance whatsoever of reaching the playoffs. 6-1

The Jags got 24 first downs, as opposed to the Panthers' 10. What's more, they allowed David Garrard to get easy looks. That ought to explain why they were thrashed 37-6. 7-1

Somehow, i knew the Eagles would lose. I was hoping that McNabb would work up some of his post-injury magic but it was all to no avail. I mean, 179 yards and a TD isn't exactly mediocre, but when you play for a team like Philadelphia, you have to produce more to keep them going. Honestly, the Eagles and Bears are the teams that have ruined my record the most. 7-2

The Seahawks were one of four teams that clinched their division titles this weekend. They defeated the Cardinals 42-21 en route to doing so. Matt Hasselbeck did his thing as usual. The guy is having a Pro Bowl season but in all fairness, there aren't very many elite QBs in the NFC besides himself, Brett Favre, Drew Brees and Tony Romo. 8-2

Bryant, i'm still at a loss of words as to why you picked the God awful Niners to beat the Vikings. It wasn't even close. They lost by 3 touchdowns. However, the main star wasn't our man Adrian Peterson but Chester Taylor. He got an 84 TD run and gained 101 yards on only 8 carries. What more do you want, even though it was against San Francisco? 9-2

All those who had placed their hopes on Pittsburgh must really want to slit their wrists now. Seriously, how on earth? This one was over from the beginning and "the usual suspects" (for you slow people, Moss and Brady) had a field day. The flea flicker from Brady to Moss, back to Brady and then to Gaffney was the highlight of the game. The Steelers didn't apply much pressure on Mr Brady. They didn't have a single sack and Tom Brady finished with 32 of 46, 399 yards and 4 TDs. All that's left is for Tom Brady to collect his rightfully deserved MVP award and look forward to the playoffs. Even if they should somehow lose to one of the raggity ass teams they have left, the Pats have proved themselves to be just as good as the 1972 Dolphins. 10-2

Honestly, the Jets head coach should bench Chad Pennington for Kellen Clemens. That's all i have to say. Did you see dude's fourth quarter attempt at a comeback? It was in vain, but worth the effort. 11-2

The Broncos held the Chiefs to only 16 rushing yards. But to be fair, they didn't have Larry Johnson (not that it would have made much of a difference regarding the eventual outcome). Jay Cutler and crew can still make the playoffs and if they perform like this for the rest of the season, they'll easily do it. 12-2

Baltimore barely looked like the team who nearly bodied New England last Monday. This time, they were on the receiving end of some major punishment. They were so bad that Peyton Manning was benched by halftime. I understand they were tired and worn out, plus the penalties, but damn, the game was much lopsided than the score suggests. Oh, and i could honestly have done without the "crabcake" conversation between Al Michaels and John Madden. Lame as hell. 13-2

....... Now this has been my best week this season. I usually have like 10 or 11 correct picks but 13? Damn. Now if New Orleans can win tonight, this will be big. On a non field related story, we learn that Michael Vick has been sentenced to 23 months in prison for his role in the dogfighting scandal that sent the media (and public) in a frenzy all year. I get that dogfighting is wrong, but two years? Some people convicted for second or third degree murder (or manslaughter) don't get that. But that's just my opinion.

Well, including the Thursday game (Chicago at Washington), I went 12 and 4...not bad...Damn, Cris, you are shredding us...I believe you went 14 and 2!!! Man, man...
Alright guys, post your scores, so I can post the updated standings!!!

And remember the week starts THURSDAY again, so post at least your first picks on wednesday!!!

Jrem, i went 12-4, but could have easily been 15-1 if i didn't pick the Niners, Falcons, and Cardinals! Yep, Cris has been red hot with his picks lately. I don't know if anybody is gonna catch him in time if he keeps this pace up.

By the way, you're living in Memphis now??

I know exactly what's up with their passing game...Carson Palmer. He's not playing well. He looks like a shadow of his former self. They still have Housh, Chad, and Henry, but he's throwing picks every game anyway. It's unexplainable.

i was watching this game on my sunday ticket package, and MAN, the Cowboys seriously dodged a bullet. i can't believe they won that game...*edit* i can't believe the Lions choked that bad. you mean to tell me their head coach can't figure out a way to stop Dallas from driving 60 yards and scoring a touchdown with only 46 seconds left? that was a horrible, horrible loss for the Lions, but also a great win for the Cowboys. Tony Romo is forreal.

Well, i'm going to agree that Jennings is a BEAST, but what's even more impressive is that running game of theirs with Ryan Grant. where did this guy come from? he rushed for another 150 yards this week. boy i'm telling you, the Packers are really going to push the Cowboys in that NFC championship game if they both make it that far (which is most likely).

hahaa...i didn't see the fumble you're talking about because....well, the Dolphins just aren't worth watching. sorry Cris. That team is a complete embarrassment to the league. They should all be fined for putting such a crappy team out on the field each sunday. sorry, i just had to say that.

Because i have that sunday ticket package, i've been able to catch quite a few of the Texans games, and when they're at HOME, Sage Rosenfels usually can step in and light that place up. On the road, it's a different story, but when they're at home, i think they can potentially upset any team.

Oh man, when they sent it to overtime, i was like "they better get ready for that Tomlinson sweep for a touchdown...cause it's about to happen." and a few plays later, it did. that guy ALWAYS does that in overtime. it's crazy how good he still is. the Titans, i'm not sure about. With Haynesworth they're really good, but they need some wide receivers in the worst way. they're number 1 receiver...Justin Gage, could barely even crack the lineup on our team, so that pretty much tells it all right there.

I'm telling you, this Jags team is really good. Garrard is a stud qb because he's smart, efficient, and NEVER turns it over. I wouldn't want to play them in the first round of the playoffs, that's for sure.

Yeah, i knew the Eagles would lose. They just look done. They never got on track for some reason, just like my Bears. I would have to say that those are 2 of the most disappointing teams of the season right there, with all the expectations and all.

I thought Arizona would at least give them a fight...but boy was i wrong.

Okay, i am officially on their jock. I've never seen a team that is structured like the Vikings. They're blowing people out with ONLY a running game? That's crazy. People know they're going to run, and they still bust loose for 50 and 60 yard touchdown runs every week. I can't believe i picked the Niners either, but yeah, i'm with you, i think the Vikings have a real good chance to make the playoffs now. That running game with Peterson and Chester Taylor is just flat out scary.

I don't know why, but i just knew the Patriots would play their best game of the season against the Steelers. And i didn't even know one of the Steelers players made a guarantee prediction like that. Man, that playcaller for the Patriots is fantastic. Formation, after formation, after formation, they had the Steelers on their heels. When a team is doing nothing but passing like that, you're supposed to be able to pin your ears back, and rush the passer, but the playcalling kept them off balance. Great win for New England. They're one step closer to that undefeated season, and i'm looking forward to seeing it, cause i love to watch history being made, even if it's not for my own team.

All i can say is, as bad as Kellen Clemens may look right now, anybody, and i mean ANYBODY, is better than Chad Pennington for that team. I think he's worn out his welcome there. Maybe they should trade him now while he still might have a tiny bit of value. His arm is worse than Brian Grieses arm...and that's saying a LOT.

The Chiefs need Herm Edwards to just pick a qb already. Stop switching back and forth each week. I don't think Larry Johnson would make a difference behind that offensive line though. They haven't opened many running lanes for the backs all season, so even with LJ in there, i think it would still be tough sledding.

Yep, Baltimore came out flat as expected. That loss last week to New England took everything out of them. They didn't have anything left. The Colts are looking real scary though. I think they might give the Pats another run for their money when they play again. Good thing it will be played in Foxboro, and not Indianapolis though.

Okay, first just let me say how stupid i was for believing that the Falcons could actually "upset" anybody. Now that i've gotten that out of the way, i feel sick to my stomach that they gave this guy 23 months in jail for dogfighting. For DOGFIGHTING. At worst he should have gotten 6 months and a little probation, but i feel like the judge is just trying to make an example out of him because he can. This is horrible news. I'm pissed about that. He made a mistake, so give him a little time and let him redeem himself. But don't send the man to prison for 2 years. What in the world does it prove sending him to prison for that long? Nothing if you ask me.

Cris now has a 4 games advantage on me, a 6 games advantage on Kenny, and a lot of games on Bry and Wedlock! :)

Hey guys, let's keep the competition going until the Super bowl...so we can have a Super winner for this NFL picks game!!!

I'll be out of the country from Friday until mid January (end of Ph.D. vacation in France with madame! :)) before moving to the cold land of Indiana...which means that I'll miss a few games, but thank God for the web, I'll even be able to watch a few games on the satellite...so I'll still post my picks and do the updates...

Don't forget, there are games on Thursday this week...post your picks for those games by tomorrow!!!

    Peace!!!

This friday we're going on vacation and I'm starting a research associate postdoctoral job at Purdue University in February...I'm going to be in Boilermaker and Colts country...but I have my Saints Jersey, so!!! :D

Alright guys, I'm not wasting any time, Cris, it's time to tremble!!! Here are my picks for the next 16 games in the NFL!!!

Denver at Houston: Man Denver is such a bipolar team I dunno who to pick, but I'll go with the Texans since they're at home!

Cincinnati at San Francisco: Who can SF beat??? maybe a dead
    horse

Seattle at Carolina: If the Seahawks are for real they should win this one easily!!!

Buffalo at Cleveland: Same here, if the Browns are to be contender, they should beat the Bills...won't be easy though!!!

Tennessee at Kansas City: KC is almost as bad as SF...they just show no heart!!!

    Baltimore at Mami: 0 and 16!!! 0 and 16!!! 0 and 16!!!

NY Jets at New England: I don't know if it's gonna be as big a blowout as everyone thinks, but NE sure will win!!!

Arizona at New Orleans: This is money time...Saints will win!!!

Jacksonville at Pittsburgh: Hmmm...tough to pick, but I say Steelers at home

Green Bay at St Louis: No upset here, the Cheeseheads continue their pursuit for a first round bye!!!

Atlanta at Tampa Bay: Spoiler of the year, Falcons come in and stun the Bucs, delaying their NFC south crowning for another week!!!

Indianapolis at Oakland: Well, is there any argument to make here really?

Philadelphia at Dallas: Even with McNabb, the Eagles are roasted and ready to mail it in!!!

Detroit at San Diego: The Chargers play very well at home and Detroit is going to continue its huge collapse...they once were 6 and 2!!! man!!!

Washington at NY Giants: Man, these Giants aren't giving up on their embattled quaterback...I expect them to win this one and secure he first wild-card spot in the NFC

Chicago at Minnesota: Man, how I would love to see the Vikings fall...so I gamble on my man Bryant's Bears...Bry do you realize that your team could help us qualify for a wild car spot?? how bad does that make you feel!!! :D

Houston over Denver - even though they both been up & down teams, I think houston playoff push will be stronger than denver's.

Guys, my girl and my twins are coming home tomorrow from the hospital so unfortunately, things on this board will go back to where they once were - once a week. I'd probably only be able to come in on Mondays and Thursdays for my preview, picks and review. Too bad :( coz this thing is the most fun we've had on this board.

So let's get ahead with this:

Denver Broncos vs Houston Texans - The two teams blew out their opponents last week to keep their playoff hopes alive. Even though Denver have been far from consistent on the road, i'm giving them this one because they have more to gain (and/or lose, depending on your view). Jay Cutler wants to end the season on a high and gain some momentum for the next season, while Houston really want to finish above .500 for the first time in their franchise history. They haven't had such a great season with Andre Johnson missing a number of games. With that in mind, it'd be a rare road W for the Broncos.

Cincinnati Bengals vs San Francisco 49ers - Realistically, any team can beat the 49ers (at least so far this season) and so the Bengals pick up a pride victory because there isn't much they can get done this season. They haven't had the most impressive season, which is even more suprising giving that they aren't exactly suffering from a dearth of talent - they have Chad and Rudi Johnson (no relations), Carson Palmer and Houshmandzadeh among others.

Tennessee Titans vs Kansas City Chiefs - Even though Vince Young can't pass and their D isn't as strong without Albert Haynesworth as it is with him, they'd be looking to resurrect their wildcard hopes with a win at Missouri sunday.

Baltimore Ravens vs Miami Dolphins - This is the week to get things right. N.B. (i could change this pick later).

New York Jets vs New England Patriots - Is this "the week"? I hope not. With 19 touchdown receptions, Moss needs four more to to tie Jerry Rice (22 in 1987) for the all-time single-season record. The Pats have so much more at stake so id oubt they'd lose. However, if i were Belichick, i'd reduce the minutes of Brady, Moss and Stallworth for the playoffs. Realistically, their second string are good enough to see out the rest of the season.

Buffalo Bills vs Cleveland Browns - The Browns are just a game out of first in the AFC North, and with a win and a little help (a Tennessee loss plus a Denver loss/tie) they'll secure a spot in the postseason for the first time since 2002. I don't think they'd gamble all that by losing at home to the Bills.

Seattle Seahawks vs Carolina Panthers - Watching Matt Hasselbeck literally dissect the Cardinals' defense last week reinforces my point that he's a definite Pro Bowler this year. Also, Dallas and Green Bay better beware because Seattle are heating up at the right time.

Arizona Cardinals vs New Orleans Saints -Both teams have been losing games they could have won (Arizona are 0-2 against San Francisco). However, the Saints can take solace in the fact that they have a better conference record and are in better tiebreaking position. Whoever loses this game is definitely out the wildcard race.

Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Are you kidding? Speaking of the Falcons, i believe Michael Vick deserves another chance in the NFL and he'd probably (and hopefully) get it. Don't be surprised if he does return getting his Emmitt Smith on though. Guys, let's not kid ourselves, Vick was never a superb passer, as early as his Virginia Tech days. His most outstanding games came when he ran the ball. He's had one of the disappointing QB ratings in the league. Moreover, he had the attributes of the prototypical RB - he's 6'0, about 215 pounds, excellent hands and uncanny speed. Take my word for it.

Green Bay Packers vs St Louis Rams - Even though this game is meaningless, it'd be fun. The Packers, in a way, are the NFL version of the Phoenix Suns. Every single game they play involves lots of scoring, playmaking and general excitement. Last week, Ryant Grant rushed for 156 yards in the win against the Raiders. I don't expect another big game from him but the Packers will be fine.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Pittsburgh Steelers - Oh we heard the chants all of last week, the Steelers will be the team to do it, Ben Roethlisberger is a beast, the Steelers will send out the blitz, blah blah blah. It was almost fanatic as sportswriters across the country had a field week getting their draws wet over an unlikely Steelers road win against the Pats. Whatever made them think that was possible, i don't know. It's amazing how the Patriots have gone from being the most loved team in the AFC to the bogeyman of the league. Well, haters will be haters.

Indianapolis Colts vs Oakland Raiders - It'd be interesting to see the Colts' rushing attack here. Joseph Addai will come up strong here, as the Raiders have a decent pass defense, which means Manning will set up the run first before going to the air.

Detroit Lions vs San Diego Chargers - The Chargers are heating up at the right time. Last week, the Titans allowed LT to do what he does best and, well, they paid the price. The Chargers will be looking to clinch the AFC West title here and that i think they'll be able to do against a Lions team which has started fine, but crashed and then burned.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys - I always love these T.O. vs his old team matchups because they always live up to the hype. Say what you want about Owens, he gets the job done. Dallas can come yet another step closer to sewing up home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with a victory, and with Philadelphia coach Andy Reid sticking with Donovan McNabb for the rest of the season, can you say home turf?

Washington Redskins vs New York Giants - Man, i hate these close ones because they determine how one's week will go. I'm picking the Giants. Why? Because they have all of a sudden become the master of close game - they are 5-0 in games decided by 8 points or less. Certainly, Washington won't score more than 24 and neither will the Giants. That's why they are the favorites to win.

Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings - Don't be mad, Lovie. You were the media darling of the league coaches last year. It's someone else's turn to get their shine on. Adrian Peterson is definitely the offensive rookie of the year.
