It's about that time Jrem. I got my NFL sunday ticket, and i'm ready to roll! :D It looks like your Saints are up first. They have a heavy weight fight against the world champions...at HOME. Tough, tough game for you guys. If it makes you feel any better, we have San Diego on the road as well, so two extremely tough games for both of our teams starting off. I may hate the Saints, and i wish to see them fail miserably, but i do hope they put on a good show against the Colts.

    Anyway, on to my picks.

    Week 1 Schedule -

Indianapolis over New Orleans! (sorry, champs too much at home)
    Minnesota over Atlanta
Carolina over St. Louis (too much Smith & Peppers)
    Denver over Buffalo
Kansas City over Houston (two bad teams..one has to win though lol)
    Washington over Miami
New England over New York Jets (Good game, but Pats all the way here)
Philadelphia over Green Bay (i hate Green Bay. what can i say?)
    Pittsburgh over Cleveland
Jacksonville over Tennessee (Vince Young is not enough)
Chicago over San Diego ( haha...c'mon, i couldn't pick against the Bears here 8) )
Oakland over Detroit ( I think Culpepper makes them legit)
    Seattle over Tampa Bay
Dallas over New York Giants (I hate the Cowboys, but they'll win here)
Cincinnati over Baltimore (good game. Cincy wins though)
Arizona over San Francisco (total snooze fest lol :smt015 )

Hey mister Bryant...yeah, it's that time again...and I can already see that we disagree on a lot of picks...

We'll have to count or W-L and display them here after monday night's game!!!

Here are my picks...and of course, I am starting with an upset on the road...and if u think about it, a not-so-stunning one!!!

New Orleans at Indianapolis: New Orleans- Tony Ugoh-a rookie- has to guard Peyton's blind side...against Will Smith!!! let's say, Peyton is going to sniff the turf at the RCA dome a lot!!

Minnesota vs Atlanta: Atlanta- Joey Harrington is going to outplay Tarvaris Jackson

Carolina vs St. Louis: St Louis: St. Louis - Too much Steven Jackson and Torry Holt

Denver vs Buffalo: Denver - It's Buffalo, enough said!!

Kansas City vs Houston: Kansas City - Too much LJ!!!

Washington vs Miami: Washington - Trent Green is old!!!

New England vs NY Jets: New England - Brady and Moss!!!

Philadelphia vs Green Bay: Philadelphia: Brett is old TOO!!!

Pittsburgh vs Cleveland: Pittsburgh - Cleveland who???

Jacksonville vs Tennessee: Tennessee - Vince Young IS NEXT!!!

Chicago vs San Diego - San Diego - Too much LT and Too little Rexie!!!

Oakland vs Detroit: Oakland - Culpepper is a good fit for sure!!!

Seattle vs Tampa Bay: Seattle - Seahawks will contend in the NFC!!!

Jrem, how can you say beating Indianapolis on the road wouldn't be much of a stunning upset! i want whatever you're smoking my friend. :smt033 the same way that emotional high carried you guys to a dominating victory against the falcons last season, is the reason why the Colts will beat you guys on thursday. it's ring ceremony night, and the champs are setting out to prove that they can repeat. we played the Colts this preseason, and honestly, i didn't really see a drop in their play. Peyton was moving the ball pretty good on our first team defense, and of course, the Bears have a much stronger defense than the Saints. i hate to say it, but it's almost impossible to stop Harrison AND Wayne. they're two number one receivers who compliment each other VERY well. i'll give you guys the edge in the running game because you have Bush and McAllister compared to only Addai, but unless you guys get rid of the ball quick with screens and dump offs to counter that fast defense, and also keep Peyton off the field (with long extended touchdown drives, not field goal drives), you're gonna have a real long night. i know the Saints have a dominating offense, but the Colts have an even better offense that scores touchdowns instead of just racking up yards like your boys. Ugoh might have a long night, but remember, he goes up against Freeney every day in practice, which should prepare him for what Smith is trying to bring.

yes, it should be a great game from start to finish. this game, and the Bears game are the 2 that i've definitely set some time aside for. i'll be darned if i miss either one. we both know the Bears and Saints are the 2 best teams in the NFC, and home field advantage is gonna be REAL important this year, so of course, i'm hoping that the Colts knock you guys off just for that reason. :D

good luck to your team Jrem. you guys are gonna need it. 8)

    Kenny g's week 1 pics:

INDY over NO - Peyton manning barely loses the first game of the season.
MIN over ATL - No micheal vick, no dj shockley, no QB on that team
CAR over STL - I agree to much defense for them
DEN over BUF - Buffalo aint improve that much to beat denver now!
HOU over KC - I know but they are known for upsets (them & arizona)
WSH over MIA - That QB Jason campbell is good and fast learner.
NE over NYJ - Of course, bill bellichick is still a genius I mean look at his offseason moves.

PHI over GB - Mcnabb always ate up the packers like lunch
PGH over CLE - Had to pick the team that is going to do it again with 6 championships this year

TEN over JAC - it will come down to the wire and in those situations Vince is the prince.

SD (undecided) CHI - Defensive games are always difficult to choose because you never know whos' defense is going to give up the big play that can seal the game.

OAK over DET - Oak are developing some weapons over there.

TB over SEA - Thats my second upset pick (I always pick 2 upsets)

DAL over NYG - ELI IS NOT PEYTON!! These sportscaster need to realize that.

BAL over CIN - Cincy is going to get their asses smacked around this year.

Wow, at least I expected our SAINTS offense to show up...they didn't !!!

Damn it, you must be laughing hard, Bryant...:(

We'll have to take it out on Tampa Bay!!!

Yep, this is Pittsburgh's year! It'll be nice for the Steelers to have their 6th ring! I'd really like to see Charlie Batch get lots of game time...

Well, of course i was laughing, but only a little bit. I have to admit that i am surprised at how badly you guys got beat though. The Colts literally laid the smack down tonight. And Jason David...WOW. He got beat on 3 or 4 touchdowns tonight. I think you guys have a lot of work to do. If your boys don't make some corrections, it could be a long season. But if it makes you feel any better, the Colts are head and shoulders above your Saints, and my Bears, until proven otherwise. I do think we could play with them a little better than u guys did tonight though. By the way, i love the double standard. Drew Brees plays like dog crap tonight, and gets eaten alive, but i'll bet you a hundred dollars that nobody says anything about his performance. If that was Rex tonight, we would never hear the end of it. I just had to say that.

Rose, Rose! your handle says you live in New England, not Pittsburgh! LOL the Pats and Colts will battle it out at the end. Pittsburgh could be decent, and make a run in the playoffs, but having to go through Cincy and Baltimore could be too tough for them. i think they'll get the wild card though, along with Denver. well, after further thought, i think it'll be Cincy and Denver in those wild cards. sorry. lol

Bryant, Bryant...did u just try to compare two-time pro-bowler Drew Brees and Sexy Rexy Grossman???

C'mon...how many QB u know had a 0 rating for an NFL game???

This said, Drew played obviously his WORSE game EVER!!! and u just can't give ur defense so little rest against Peyton Manning...

Our offense is our strength, and think about it, they did not score a TD tonight!!! Phew...yep, they've got a lot of work to do!!!

But they'll be back, it was the Colts, in Colts land...and it's just one game!!

I know Drew only had one terrible game vs. Rex having five terrible games, but c'mon, i bet nobody says ANYTHING about his performance tonight. Rex can't have a single turnover (which anybody who knows anything about football knows that quarterbacks WILL turn the football over from time to time) without being burned at the stake. It's not fair. He's a good player, and i'm glad that he has more class than a lot of people in the media, and a lot of the fans. Despite the criticism, he keeps playing hard, and because of that, i'll stick by him until the very end. I just hope he proves me right and plays well, which i think he ultimately will.

Anyway, i hope you realize how vastly overrated your team is Jrem. The Colts beat us too, but they weren't NEARLY as dominant as they were tonight against you guys. You guys got SMOKED! I just don't think your wide receivers are going to have as much success as they had last season. Colston is big, and can catch, but he doesn't have the speed to get separation, and Henderson, although he is a burner, is going against first string defenders instead of nickel defenders now. They held you guys' offense to 3 points, and Drew Brees was seconds away from setting a record for lowest yards per pass completion. And what can you say about your new off-season additions? Jason David?? He's worse than the guy he replaced! LOL

I think the Colts just basically proved what all of us Bears fans knew all along...that the butt whipping we laid on you guys last season was no fluke, and we are still the class of the NFC! :p

Wow...so far, without the Monday night games, I am 7-7...not very good!!! :(

But my man Bryant, you knew I was gonna come for you, after your Bears scored the huge amount of points they did today: 3!!!

Well, at least u can say ur defense still played awesome, except for the fact that ur hard-hitting safety Mike Brown looks like he is going to be out again!!

Conclusion of this week 1 for me, even without the games tomorrow:

    1) AFC rules
    2) The "class of the NFC" may not be the Bears and the Saints again, come january!!!
    3) It's only week 1, let's not draw some quick conclusions!!! :)

Hmm...i wasn't much better with my picks lol. I had a feeling in my gut that Houston would beat KC, but i ignored my intuition. i guarantee i'll listen to it next time. :)

Yeah, let me have it Jrem. i let you have it, and so i deserve a tongue lashing too. the defense played flawlessly, and held that vaunted San Diego offense in check, but turnovers cost us the game. we were driving the field, then Benson fumbled. we were driving the field again, then Peterson fumbled. we got them to punt, but the return man fumbled. those things led to them scoring 14 points there at the end, but if it weren't for that stuff, i think we could have won. but, no excuses. we lost the game and that's that. it sucks, because i thought we were the better team today, but if you turn the football over, you lose ya know. by the way, if that's the most ferocious pass rush that we'll face this year with Merriman and Philips, i like our chances. Rex was stepping up and getting rid of the football. his one INT wasn't his fault at all, because Berrian stopped midway through his route and the ball was picked. overall, i thought he played really really well. i'm encouraged by his performance today.

and yes, you're right. it's foolish to draw quick conclusions after week 1. i still think your team will win their division, and i still think we'll see each other in the playoffs. both our teams suffered devestating losses, but i like our chances at bouncing back. good luck taking care of those Bucs next week Jrem. i hope we also take out our frustrations on the Chiefs, and then the Cowboys come week 3!! :)

Not bad for week 1, I use real money not monopoly money however so we use the spread system.

Straight up you did well, ATS you bombed and some you lost outright...

I'll give you College Football Picks and NFL picks in time for the games on Thurs, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Monday Night.

    I'll give you Monday's games now -

Currently the Natti is 2.5 chalk vs The Ravens.

The total is 40... I am not going to go into trends right now but one stands out -

The Bengals are 14-32 ATS record at home in the season’s first month.

That ain't good and they lost their home opener last season with pretty much the same cast.

Out of the 2 games, I believe this is the safer bet as The Cards and 9ers are really young and unknowns for the most part you want to see them with a game under their belt to see how the season might play out for both of them.

That being said, despite Ray Lewis et-all, Palmer and company will score on the Ravens, which means the over is the safest bet here.

They should have the over covered by mid way through the 3rd Qrt, no need to sweat the last 15 mins to see if you made money or not.

But I also believe that Cinny will continue to struggle early in the season. Its not the offense its the defense!

Take the Over and the Ravens +2.5

If your really up to it, take the over on the 9er/Cards game. Dominate defenses play well early in the season and neither of these times have that, so scoring is how it will get done.

The total is 46 that's fairly easy number to reach...

I went 10-2 on sunday didn't give predictions in the bears vs chargers game because of the defensive struggle and boy was it a struggle...LT is the only player scoring the TDs, besides a TD catch by gates from LT!!

He didn't get 100+ but he had all th points and won the game for them....umm can you say unstoppable!!, TD King, Endzone owner.

    That guy is good :)

Bryant, it took me a while to reply...yes, I am in New England, but a native of Pittsburgh! I love to watch them play and LOVE to see that beautiful field, with those towels a'wavin! For me, it's a quick cure for occasional homesickness! By the way, 34-7 against the Browns was pretty darn good!

My Observations of this past week of Football:

    Man, I went 8-8 for the first week...at least I'm at 0.500!!! :)

Rose, Rose, don't get to excited by a blowout win against the little sister of the poor called the Cleveland Browns...I think the Browns probably would have a hard time scoring on my LSU Tigers!!! :)

How about those Patriots stealing signals??? I love the Pats, but this it NOT COOL!!!

Man, I am soooo happy Kevin Everett, the Tight End from Buffalo is recovering quick and well...these spinal cord injuries are freakin' scary!!!

Chad Johnson is such a great character...the NFL needs guys like him, he cracks me up!!!

Peyton Manning is not totally human...part of his brain must have been genetically modified...

LSU is scary good and they will go toe to toe with USC this season and probably meet in Nawlins!! what a national championship game that would be!!!

Hey NFC, don't think we're done already, GO SAINTS!!! :)

    Good observations Jrem. Here's mine:

    1. My favorite player in the entire league, Randy Moss, may have lost a very slight step (and i say that because the old Randy would have had 3 touchdowns instead of just one), but even if he's lost a step, he's still completely uncoverable, which is scary!

    2. I agree with you, Peyton doesn't even look human out there. I mean the guy is just incredible. Usually a quarterback has the smarts but lacks the talent (like Chad Pennington) or they have the talent and lack the smarts (like Michael Vick) but Peyton has them BOTH. Rocket arm, deadly accurate, doesn't make mistakes, beats blitzes, beats zones, the list just goes on and on with this guy. He's amazing.

    3. The injury bug going around the league really sucks. I like to see teams at full strength, but if this first week is any indication, a lot of our favorite players may very well end up in street clothes on the sideline before the season is over.

    4. I'm amazed that the Bears have moved UP in a lot of power rankings. How can they actually move UP after a loss? Could it be that people had them ranked too low to begin with, and are now making up for that disrespect?

    5. I only hate your Saints Jrem, because i have a healthy respect for them. I wouldn't hate a team that sucked. If only they could get that secondary shored up.

    6. And lastly, Arizona and San Francisco are both who i thought they were!!
