Okay, let's see just how dominating the Saints really were last season.

vs. Cleveland (margin of victory +5)
vs. Green Bay (margin of victory +7)
vs. Atlanta (margin of victory +20)
vs. Tampa Bay (margin of victory +3)
vs. Philadelphia (margin of victory +3)
vs. Tampa Bay (margin of victory +17)
vs. Atlanta (margin of victory +18 )
vs. San Fran (margin of victory +24)
vs. Dallas (margin of victory +25)
vs. NY Giants (margin of victory +23)

So that's a total margin of victory of +145

Now check out the margin of victory for the Bears

vs. Green Bay (margin of victory +26)
vs. Detroit (margin of victory +27)
    vs. Minnesota(margin of victory +3)
    vs. Seattle(margin of victory +31)
    vs. Buffalo(margin of victory +33)
    vs. Arizona(margin of victory +1)
vs. San Fran(margin of victory +31)
    vs. NY Giants(margin of victory +18 )
vs. NY Jets(margin of victory +10)
    vs. Minnesota(margin of victory +10)
vs. St. Louis(margin of victory +15)
vs. Tampa Bay(margin of victory +3)
    vs. Detroit(margin of victory +5)

That's a total margin of victory of +213. So you see Jrem, the Bears weren't just beating teams, they were whipping teams. And by those margin of victories, there's no way the defense alone lead them to those kinds of scores. Rex and the offense were involved in those blowout wins. Yes, Rex. Rex's worst games were against Minnesota (3 INTS) Arizona (4 INTS) Minnesota again (2 INTS) Miami (3 INTS) New England (3 INTS) and Green Bay (2 INTS). So basically, according to the stats from NFL.COM Rex had SIX BAD games, out of 16 TOTAL games. How is he so inconsistent then Jrem if he only has six bad out of 16 total games?? Please explain. By the way, there's no use arguing over whose schedule was weaker. Both the Bears and Saints had victories against 3 playoff teams each.

Oh come on, the staple of our defense is TURNOVERS. That's what we do. Those turnovers were forced my friend. Please admit to that.

The Saints whipped the Cowboys fair and square. Also the Giants. But you would be stretching the truth if you said any of those teams tried to double cover Colston. They may have tried to take away Bush, but teams have NOT tried to take away Colston yet. Let's see how he handles being the man down in Nawlins. And Henderson, although he is a burner, let's see how he handles being a starter and being matched up against a much better defensive back for a change. I'm not saying the Saints offense will be bad, but instead of annointing them this or that, let's just wait and see how some of these subtle changes affect their overall game.

Okay, Brees can have the edge by default when McNabb goes down with an injury. But if McNabb stays on the field, you'll know what the deal is. :)

Bryant my man, I love this football Jabs we throw at each other...where are Wedlock and the other guys on this forum? pfff, they're all in the "Lovers Forum" or something...:)

Well, lets continue our mano a mano then...

Bryant, your stats on Rex do not include fumbles there do they? do you remember that in the Arizona game he had 2 fumbles to add to his 4 INTs???

And also, if u have a stellar D, what's the logical result for an O??? Great field position, shorter yardage to score, WAY, WAY, WAY easier way to put points on the board even for an erratic QB!!

You want a prime example, Trent DILFER and the crazy 2000 RAVENS D...all he had to do was manage the game...which obviously Rex hasn't understood he should do, bcoz every now and then he tries to be Joe Montana and...ooops...
Who cost u the Superbowl man? ok, u can't put the blame on one player only, but who threw these crucial INTs?? not Urlacher or Briggs!!!

Finally, I am not arguing that your Bears are good...your margin of victory is impressive...but give the Saints their dues...they were good...not wihpping team maybe, but choking them and winning...

Ask your McNabb, when he was still healthy last season, Philly came to Nawlins and in the last quarter, didn't see the ball again for the last 8min26sec, as Brees was driving the ball down their throat to setup the winning field goal!! all Big Mac could do was shake his head on the sidelines...

Let the games BEGIN...YEAAAAAAH...I'm fired up!!! :D

My stats didn't include the Rex fumbles simply because his fumbles and INTS occurred in the SAME GAMES. So that still means he had six bad games out of 16 total games. Actually, it would be 7 out of 19 games if you include the playoffs. In the rest of the games that Rex played, he had multiple touchdown throws, and hardly no INTS. Those six games alone accounted for 17 out of his total 20 INTS. People want so badly to crucify Rex, but i haven't been supporting him for no reason. If you haven't noticed, i know my football pretty well, and if Rex was nearly as bad as people make him out to be, i would hate him too. But if people stop hating for a second, and look at the facts, they'll see that this kid had a great year last season.

Now as far as the field position, of course the defense has something to do with that, but so does the special teams!! There are 3 phases to the game my friend, not just offense. You can't penalize Rex and company because the defense and special teams are doing what they are paid to do, and that's create excellent field position. If Rex was so bad, he wouldn't even be able to convert short fields into touchdowns right?? I hope you're starting to realize your own bias against Rex Jrem. People just hate Rex and blame him for everything because it's the popular thing to do that's all. Rex was 20/28 in the superbowl, and the 2 INTS came late. One was a bad pass towards the sidelines that got intercepted, and there's no way the defender should have been able to return it all the way for the score. The second one was with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter, and Rex was trying to make his usual play to Berrian, deep down the middle. The safety came over the top, and intercepted it.

You can blame Rex for trying to be the hero and make something out of nothing, but you absolutely cannot blame him for losing that game. Special teams is partly to blame (for not figuring out a way to get Hester the ball after he returned the kickoff for a td) Defense is to blame (for a blown coverage against Wayne that surrendered the big TD, for allowing Rhodes and Addai to gash their defense with the run, and for staying in a vanilla cover 2 scheme all day long, which allowed Peyton to literally pick them apart with 5 yard throws). Coaching can also be blamed for not having a backup game plan when Benson went down with the inury. This was a total team meltdown. Rex had his hand in it, but so did everybody else.

I totally agree that the Saints are good. I respect their overall talent and execution. The execution of their offense can be a thing of beauty. I only get upset when people disregard Chicago altogether simply because the Saints have a glamourous offense and we don't. That is so ridiculous.

Anyway, there's only a few weeks left, and i'm ordering NFL sunday ticket this year. 8) And yeah, what would the season be if i couldn't smack talk with ya Jrem. :)

Well, my man Bryant, I just watched the highlights of BEARS-COLTS...

An I have only three comments:

    1) REX IS REX and

    2) DEVIN is DIVINE...enough said!

    3) If u go back to the Superbowl, it's not gonna be thanks to your QB!!

I won't make any excuses for him. He has to clean up the fumbles. The first fumble wasn't his fault cause the Olineman just flat out got beat, and the INT...well, those happen. But the 2 extra fumbled snaps, that does bother me a little. What frustrates me about Rex is the fact that he is one of the most talented quarterbacks i've ever seen. But when he gets rattled, he gets RATTLED. His bad games, instead of being just regular bad games, he turns them into historically bad games. But then he'll turn around and throw 4 touchdowns and no INTS. Oh well, it is the pre-season, and i expect him to clean up the little things. He did roll out of the pocket a few times, so that was good. By the way, you are right...any team that kicks it to Hester is nuts!! That guy is AWESOME. And he's a good receiver too!!
