As the coach for the '85 Bears, maybe it was him, maybe the team was just THAT good that he looked better than he was, but whichever, he will forever be Da Coach. :smt023
NE can't be disqualified. There would be no SuperBowl. And no, that wouldn't mean the Colts would automatically be in, instead. But, IF the Patriots are found to be at fault then something needs to happen. Suspending Belichick, et al for a year sounds like a great solution to me. Didn't they suspend Sean Payton for several games for Bountygate?
Did you read the report? Of course both teams griped during the games.. NFL officials were told at half-time during the Colts game after the interception. It's in the link.
It has never been done so perhaps now is the time...NE should be disqualified and Yes the Colts should play the Super Bowl ...you take away a Super Bowl appearance and I am fairly certain all the cheating would come to a screeching halt...fining them and taking away draft pics means nothing to them...you want to teach a lesson you hit them where it really hurts
That's not even a remote possibility and a silly suggestion. The Colts have cleaned out their lockerroom for the season and are all on vacation. The Seahawks have been spending the last 3 days making a game plan to play the Patriots. With a week and a half until the biggest televised game in the world, that is not only an impossibility, but an asinine thought.
Tell it Lippy. The Commish can do whatever he wants, including suspending them from the SB. But he wont because they will find a way to delay an investigation, Kraft will offer to pay lot's of fine cash, and they will find a low-level fall guy/ball-boy, and pin it on him. Hope they get grilled up the ass on Media day... and l hope Seattle watches them like Hawks, and thrashes them in the game since they can't cheat. Hope Sherman has a word for Belicheat at the end too, lol. Where's Erin...she better be ready..
Lol...they'd all run back from vacation in a heartbeat. The three days 'lost' prepping for the Pats is irrelevant - the Colts would have the exact same amount of days to prep for the Seahawks as the Seahawks would have prepping for the Colts. Everything is set for the SB game already. All that is waiting is(was) the 2 teams to fill the slots. So they'd have to now gameplan in a week, instead of two. (nothing new there, lol). Imagine the world publicity if this went down. Historic viewing numbers, drama infinite.:smt103
Don't think taking 2 or maybe 3 no.1 picks in consecutive seasons is light , take a 3 one year a 2 one year there are ways to really make it hurt taking draft picks Brady is at the end much rather have a good number of picks if you need to move you,, Yes bliss Jackson the linebacker that made the pick suppose to have said it felt deflated I hope they nail them but they took Indy behind the woodshed and abused them sending indy would possibly kill the super bowl
We have seen bad games before...last year the Seahawks unraveled the broncos...that was not fun to watch...but I do think sending the Colts would make a statement on the world stage...
Exactly. Biggest game in the world. Too much money on the line. Plus from a business perspective they got the most desired matchup. Actually no he can't. If you recall he relinquished all penalizing power after the Ray Rice fiasco. That decision now goes to someone else. Fact of the matter is, the balls got switched out at halftime. The pats went on to score 28 points in the second half. If the Colts want something to complain about, maybe they should find a way to score more than 7 points. No matter what the punishment handed down is, the haters will surely say it was too light.
Not just to sports fans, how about the statement to fantasy fooball players and sports betters. Who is going to risk big money? Thats actually the only reason why millions watch - they bet on games..
He didn't relinquish all power - he merely expanded it to include others he appropriated for their INITIAL consideration. Not only that, all outcomes of any appeals of penalized conduct, are determined by Goodell only. He still retains his power to meet out punishment....the panels he comissioned l doubt will argue much with him... Personal Conduct Policy is issued pursuant to the commissioner's authority under the NFL Constitution and Bylaws to define and sanction conduct detrimental to the NFL. The policy defines the standards that apply to everyone in the NFL and the steps the league will take to promote conduct that is consistent with those expectations.
Thanks for breaking it down ...nice to have a woman in the know...top story on world news tonight...if anything they are being shamed...can't be too fun in that camp...I'm surprised we haven't heard more out of the colts...
Silly suggestion...asinine thought...tell that to world news tonight on ABC...apparently I am not the only person that thinks they should be disqualified...I wasn't going to respond but I had to laugh when they went there:smt005
The worst part is that they didn't even need to do that. With the way that the Patriots have beaten the Colts over the years they would have won that game anyway. I am officially pulling for Seattle in this one. I hope the Pats get drilled.
I know. It's ridiculous. That team is ridiculous. Which is why the league needs to do something about them. And yes, whilst Deflategate isn't changing who I'm rooting for in the Superbowl, go Seahawks and Russell Wilson!!
I was pretty snarky at first when I heard about but the more I think about it, the more that it just really fucking annoys me. Maybe it didn't make a huge difference in the actual outcome but still...they didn't have to do that. Hefty fines and some forfeited draft picks should send a pretty string message. And maybe they forfeit home field if they make the playoffs next season, too.
