I don't think I heard Untitled as a whole, just the single but that was years ago. There was a lot of shit I skipped out on past 07 just because I wasn't fucking with any new hip-hop, period.
No they wouldn't. 6-8 yr olds would likely mimic lyrics that included the word, oblivious to its context. She was likely refering to her alcoholic and drug-abuse home environment, which was her teen pageant platform - "that no kid should grow up feeling unsafe or unloved" (words to that effect). I believe l read it was her father who was the alcoholic.
The hell they wouldn't! I've raised 4 and have been around tons of kids that age. They would know better than to say such things. I'm not saying they know the depths of the meaning, but you can bet they know better than to be saying it. Just as they know better than to be saying curse words. And the point is she was 15 (not 6-8 )...she DID know better.
Which also does not excuse anything she said. Millions are raised by alcoholic parents and not out posting that on social media.
No one said that at all, nor excuses her. The information noted.. simply pertained to her chosen words of 'lack of guidance'. That is what she was referring to.
Hearing that she was a southern belle from Texas I had stereotyped this chick and assumed she was actually racist and stupid enough to post bigoted remarks on her page. But after seeing some of the remarks and the context in which they were spoken/written I started to think she was more likely merely using the casual language of her day. Who knows? Moot point now that she has decided to end the discussion by apologizing. By chance (I was following the story of a girl killed by gunfire) the other day I came across the twitter account of a Native American teenager. One of her tweets went something like "if my nigga flirts with you then you can take him". I'm assuming "the nigga" represented her man/boyfriend/whatever. Now according to the info at the top of her page she resides in South Dakota. I really doubt her boyfriend is black considering not too many of us (or ANYONE) lives in SD. But referring to her non-black man like that is (like it or not) a sign of the times. A quick rundown of her first page of tweets and pics I caw that her fave artists were people like The Weeknd, Drake and a couple of other hip hop artists who use that type of language in their songs. Hell, for all I know she may have been quoting from a song.
I remember a clip that was posted that featured a group of angry white kids assaulting a white man because he was in fact a sexual predator interested in meeting with a young teenage girl. They got the jump on him and called him the n-word multiple times. Because the word actually means a person of no moral character, as well as the permanent slur against black people. Like it or not, the word isn't going anywhere as long as people continue to use it.
