New to the boards

Hi everyone!

I am new to boards but have been reading them for quite some time. I guess I was a bit nervous about posting.
I am a 41 year old white woman, but nobody can ever tell that by looking at me. (the 41 part not the white part!)I still get asked for ID sometimes which thrills me to no end! I am not married ( never have been) I have no children and am not one of those women who discovered black men late in my life because I am old and washed up! lol! I have been involved in 3 IR's over my lifetime, all of them quite serious relationships. The fact that I am 41 was one of the reasons I was afraid to post. There have been a lot of comments on here about old fat WW who start dating BM because they are no longer attractive to WM. That is not the case with me. My first IR was when I was 20 and I have continued my attraction to BM up to now. I am lucky that my parents are both people who taught their children to judge people on their character, not their colour, so I have never had any problems with my family. They were only upset when I brought home a skinny white guy with long hair.

That thing about only flawed white women liking black men is a fallacy. My mom was a model and she was and is a strong, selective woman.

BM may just be more accepting of variety for all people because they know how it feels to be excluded.

I am new here too, so i don't know who is writing that only second rate white women apply for BM but BM and everyone else should take the time to realize the importance of looking at everyone as an individual. Age is just a number and if you look like you're 25 and you're fun loving, who cares what your real age is?

Yeah, but you can't say that too loud around here...there's a thread trying to boycott the movie. lol Seriously, I did enjoy the movie and loved the show. I just thought that it was a great quote that had a lot of truth to it.

 

It is a great quote I have not seen the movie and I am not sure if I will. I don't know if it will live up to the show for me. As for the thread about boycotting the movie.....that was a bit much for me.

 

Great to see some other WM who are older on here. I'm in a very similar situation, 39, never married had 3 serious BM relationships but it's a shame the same can't be said of my father!!!

But I'm now definitely single again!

I am not single. I am involved in a very complicated relationship with a Nigerian man at the moment. I may open up a new thread asking for some insight. I know there have been others along the same line but they do not ask the questions I need help with

 

Aah - Naija men, I thought they were complicated!! But Ivorian men are even more difficult sometimes!!

Start your thread - there are some in here that enjoy spreading doom it seems but others who are great for advice! I've just 'finished' a thread on 'will it work or should I get out now' which explains my complications! Now back out in the singles market ...

 

I wasn't disappointed with the movie. I enjoyed it. I actually drove an hour to see it at 12:01 AM the day that it premiered. I didn't get home until 3:30 that morning. I thought that it was worth it at the time, but it was rough having to get up for work after just a couple hours sleep. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the thread either, but it would have been nice to have had more IR dating in it. I know that I enjoyed Blair Underwood's part. :tonqe:
