Anyone seen the promos on ABC for this new show? It's an action thriller type thing about a guy who keeps waking up and experiencing the same day over and over again. Like deja vu, groundhog day, etc. It stars Taye Diggs and im not too clear on the story but from the commercials he is married to a HOTTTT white woman and then there is this just as HOTTT chinese/half asian half white lookin chick he accidentally kills (or they framed him for her death). I am not sure. But he is on the run and must prove his innocense. Anyway, the show looks fun, action packed, and just like his cancelled ABC show Kevin Hill where he played a single father/lawyer who was bangin HOTTT A$$ white chicks left and right, he appears to be getting his IR on once again on network TV. Hopefully they wont cancel it this time. It comes on november 15 on ABC wednesdays so look 4 it....

    I've seen that.
I believe his wife on that show is Asian. I could be wrong.
I never thought ABC of all networks would have the backbone to air that.

Time will tell if the show is any good however.

From what I can tell, his character seems to be a regular black guy [not a sports star or thug] so that's good thing coming out of the starting gate...

If it's good I hope it does well.

But is it me or does the black man/ Asian woman mix seem to be popular on TV or is it used as a way to stay away from the good black man / white woman pair??

    I'm just asking.

I've seen the promos as well. Actually, I was hoping that someone would start a thread on it because I don't have any real info to tell myself. Not too sure if a "Groundhog day" scenario will play out on TV for such a fickle audience like America's is. Although, 24 got away with it for five years going through an entire 24 hours in one season, so who knows.

But your right "Peyback." I wish Taye good success, although I never did get to watch Kevin Hill. We didn't get a UPN affiliate in our area until now. Now I can catch new eps of Everybody hates Chris and others. Speaking of IR, you guys should check out this new show "The Game." It stars Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister) as a girlfriend of a football player on a team in a minor league. Apparently, topics focus on off the field issues which affect the players on the field. But Britney Daniel is on the show and apparently she plays the wife of a black player (brother from "Third Watch"). They have a mixed little girl on the show. I admit I was a little surprised they put that on, but then again UPN (now CW) has always been kinda the black network. But it is hilarious, so check it out.

Finally, with respect to your comments "designer," I couldn't tell from the previews whether Taye's girl on the show is Asian or half-Asian. But she probably is or is from Canada like Kristin Kreuk, for instance. I'm not surprised, though, that ABC would put such an overt IR couple on TV at this time. Truth is, it doesn't look like alot of the new shows are panning out very well right now. And let's face it. There will NEVER be a "right" time to put IR-black/white on TV in this country. Now the FOX network is pretty racist. I could definitely see them turning down a show like this one. Hell, they'd probably pair the chick with a latin or even an asian dude first.

And finally, you're right in the fact that the asian chick/black guy pair is just an intermediate until they are ready to put white chick/black guy couples on TV. Look at Grey's Anatomy, one of my favs. Could you really see Burke and Yang getting together from the beginning? I think not.

 Yeah I saw it and I plan on checking it out eventhough I wish she was a white female instead and like someone posted, that seems to be the new BLEND on tv with black males & Asian females. And on the big screen it's black men & Latina women. Looks like to me they are shying away from brothas with the white ladies somewhat anyway. :?

    PS>
Didn't know about that one hellspawn. Now I got to check that show out.

To me, it just seems like another version of 24, but with an IR twist, which will more than likely, get it cancelled. Not trying to be a downer, but by now, wouldn't it all seem inevitable?

Well let's see what happens first SG. Plus I think the show is more like that GROUNDHOG DAY flick with some 24 mixed in.

It just seems like he's blaming black females for the cancellation of his show because of their refusal to support him (or his movies & shows) since he's married to a white woman. How about the show got the boot because it was a bad television version of "Groundhog Day"? *shrugs*

That's probably true but the interviewer took it there about his IR marriage and his roles so he spoke truthfully! If black men had said that about somebody like Halle then black women would have been up in arms!

"Day Break" had a couple of things against it:

    1) It was a serialized show that was supposed to run the whole season. Others like "Kidnapped" and "Vanished" didn't last. "The Nine" is another, it's on hiatus. People are tired of remembering storylines. "24" gets away with it 'cause it's the 1st.

    2) "Day Break" was supposed to fill in for "Lost" so "Lost" wouldn't run so many repeats this season. Trouble is, "Lost" people want more "Lost," not a place holder.

I'm a big fan of Taye, I can feel his frustration. It seems like he's the whipping boy for marrying a WW, yet you can't pick up an Essence without Jamie Foxx or Terrence Howard on the cover, both of whom date/married WW and have mixed kids. I guess those brothas keep their women under wraps and don't parade 'em on the red carpet so it's OK.

    I feel you on that.
taye diggs is the sort of brotha I want to succeed. I dont expect him to completely knock off will smith or jamie foxx but I definitely feel hollywood should be giving more lead roles to black actors like him, I get tired of seeing people like 50cent and snoop dogg taking up roles that actors like him should be getting.
good luck on his next project I will def be supporting him. Its just a shame because daybreak was actually an awesome show.
I hope this doesnt make him change where he is going role wise, because I definitely liked how he was intense in this show. I hope he carries that on in his project and plays more driven characters.

that was kind of what I wondered the first trailer I saw on it.. Ihow do you base a tv show on the premise of a day repeating itself over and over.

personally I could only see the movie once through. It was funny but got old fast...

now put that to a show concept on tv.. how do you keep it intersting?

I'm sorry though it was canceled because I do like him and I didn't even get to catch one show.
