OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This movie just may be more controversial than passion of the christ and pulp fiction put together. Just by them posters it already looks more like a interracial porno. Craig Brewer just might have broke his career in hollywood because you know they aren't gonna like this. Me personally judging by the concept of the movie with christina ricci as his sex slave with the year 2007 being the 40th anniversary of "Guess whos coming to dinner?" and IR marriage was made legal this is not the way I want those anniversaries to start off. Their has to be another interracial flick before that. Yo Kidrasta lets find one bruh.
I already can tell that me, as well of millions of Americans hate this movie for different reasons depending on the race and gender of the person you ask. I, for one, cannot stand the fact that it is largely built on negative stereotypes about a black male perpetuated by white supremacists. I do understand that it is not always helpful to judge a book by its cover but this is certainly an exception. I am not one to quickly make rash assumptions but i am sure i can be pardoned for this. The name and front cover pretty much sums up my aversion to this movie and i am willing to bet this movie is going to be a flop. Now do not ask me why.
Well we'll see what happens when the movie comes out but I'll just say that all kinds of sick relationships exist between people of all races. I'm of the firm belief these days that most relationships are dysfunctional in some kind of way... :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
From what i've read about the plot, Ricci's character is a nymphomaniac and Jackson's character is trying to "cure" her of this. Jackson's character chains her up in an attempt to keep her from going out and sleeping with everyone in town.
I think the movie might turn out to be interesting... all the racial problems will just blind ppl to the artistic intentions of the director and to the message it might carry! and if it is a flop, who cares??? the best movies in America aren`t the ones that are box offices successes...those are usually brain dead Hollywood stupidities!!! But y`all know that!! Peaaaaaaace
Its not that the movie is going to be bad, the dynamics, coupled with the settings will overshadow what the story is really about.
Hmmm....i don't know about some of you guys, but the plot of this movie sounds pretty good to me. I mean, it might be a bust at the box office (because it's too controversial) but it could turn out to be one of those films that are actually better to see on DVD. I love Sam Jackson, even though he keeps making movie after movie after movie instead of just waiting for a really great part to come along, but it definitely sounds like a great video rental.
