Madden is made simple for folks who like easy football play. Im not in anyway meaning to disrespect any fan of Madden. But honestly it a very easy game compared to NCAA. I like playing with the different offenses and recruiting in NCAA 11. Same in 10. Even on all Madden, Madden is still less difficult to play than NCAA on Heisman. Madden is made for the casual football fan. If you like casual football get Madden. If you like a more difficult game get NCAA. Its aoll in folks choices. I know folks who are world beaters in Madden, but once on NCAA they fold. Conversly I know average folks on NCAA who can Kill on Madden . Honestly I like building schools up and playing for a national title so NCAA for me . Madden got better budget behind it , but last years was more broken than NCAA 10. Bret Farve moved kinda fast in Madden 10
I'm in my second dynasty year for PSU, and I agree the recruiting process is fun to go through. Even on the varsity recruiting level, Texas and USC take all the 5-star blue chips, while I'm stuck making ends meet with 4/3 star guys. In the end tho, it all comes down to where you put them and how you play them..so getting the lower caliber guys isn't a program killer (I play on All-American btw)
out of curiosity would you guys go to a place like my boy was talking about. he stated he saw something like that in raliegh ,NC
I wouldn't go to a physical place like that, but I have been a part of virtual communities (clans) for various games.
yeah I did the virtual clans. I never went to that kind of stuff either but they never had anything like that here. I have heard about it on TV. why would nt you go.
yeah, we dont have any here at all. was there a two and three or are you just totally against it ? I guess in my eyes its all like the arcade type thing again ( I kind of phased away from the arcade) but at the same time you will be able to hook up with other folks that would like to game face to face and socialize. Im not sure because i never been around it so i can judge it. I heard of one tourny besides madden , Doom (I think it was) , where they had tournys and this dude was on some TV magazine and he saying he made 20,000 that year doing these things. the camera panned around and showed hundreds of people playing. I dont know if it phased out or not.
Funny, my boy was getting pissed about Texas and USC stealing players. USC has horrible stability in the game. This game has a strange set of parity. For some reason I just watched Missouri, 5 star team end the season with a 1-11 record. I started my dynasty with Nevada, got them to 4 star school, about to be a 5 possibly. But recruiting sucks, just started getting 4 stars and 5 stars got snatched by USC, who have not won a PAC championship in years. So moving to another team. Contracts in the game seem worthless.
That's because USC is practicing illegal recruiting, even in video games. Only difference is, in the e-world, you won't be banned from postseason play for 2 years when doing so.
LOL Yeah it would be nice if they included that in the game, which they could have since the game can punish you if you have poor disciplinary measures. Bad enough, all PAC-12(what a name) teams in the game have poor stability. UCLA really sucks in this game, I was stealing their recruits left and right. They are not respected at all in this game. EA Sports this year decided also to ride the Coattails of Boise State, nearly a 6 star school and can recruit nationwide.
im pretty satisfied with the game this year. at first, the mid-season recruiting was balls to me, as Id rather focus on winning the games themselves. So, in previous editions, I just played the campus legend mode because of that. But with this year's version, the mid-season recruiting is just as fun to me, as the games are (probably because you can have the AI act as assistant coaches, and help you recruit if you get burned out). I like breaking down the players, and seeing where my team is weak at, and then focusing on getting those recruits, while winning games. My only gripe is that it seems like the computer makes the games, where you have recruits visiting, a bit harder to win. I'll blow out squads all year long, and then stuggle when my guys come to see us play FIU or some other bum squad in Beaver Stadium. The game is a win tho I won't be buying madden this year for sure.
My friend is trying to convince me to buy Madden, but like you I dont see any reason to get it this year again anyways. I didnt get it last year. When it comes to recruiting, I just made sure not to play games against cupcakes. When I was Nevada, I set my recruits up for a visit against WVU, loss that game (on Heisman) by 7 and got C rating. But I managed to bounce back and get #3 Stanford, ended up getting As for those recruits. Screwed me over on a 5 star recruit. I been playing online dynasty, which still has some glitches to it. My friend is Penn State and he cant recruit for his life. He had 2 back to back years with at least 90 ranked classes. Which is gonna spell the downfall for that school lol. Game is great, biggest issue with this game is pass drops especially if you are a 3 star school. Seems like teams drop alot more passes wide open.
Lol I may crank it to heisman, now that I got a decent squad. I just started getting comfortable with the ins and outs of the game, like all of the new defensive shifts and offensive stuff. Seemed that made all the difference on all-American against teams athletically better than yours.
no doubt about that, on All American its a challenge against 5-6 star schools. Especially if they are athletically superior lol. If you got a pocket passing QB, you are doomed from the start. Some offenses against those major schools will do you in too. I dont expect to win a game if I am running the pistol offense, nothing but PAs in there. Also noticed that some DTs in the game got over 70 in speed, thats like a first for college games. I ran into a DE who had 87 in speed somehow.
lol nothing but scrambling QBs for me and Penn. seriously, sometimes guys just dont get open, especially when u got weak receivers. I make sure my QB has at least 88 spd and acceleration/agility to boot... i like the run game too...although i cant get them yards against USC or Ohio State...they shut my HB shit down
Yeah penn should get all the Scrambling QBs in the world in that game. Like all other past NCAA games, if you end up having successful QBs (tendencies wise) they will flock to the school for next coming years. With Nevada I had Colin Kaepernick, who had 88 speed and 91 in acc. their back up has 96 in acc which was ridiculous. Now the generated recruits are less faster it seems then the guys already in the game starting out. With WRs, best plays it seems to run are slants, 4 wr sets with flags or post or outs. Against Miami, did manage to drop 550 yards against them but had bad spells against SEC schools. I use to be an option guy, but now I play spread/air raid offense. consist of nothing but 4 or 5 wr sets, sometimes ace formations. I usually piss my friend off when we play because its hard to stop or cover.
i dont think i ran an option play since NCAA 06 on xbox lol as for the scrambling QBs..it's sad when u think about it... In the NFL, most long-lasting QBs are Pocket First/Scramble 2nd. You got some oddballs like Vick who can still run fast, and McNabb who Reid had focus on Pocket, later on in his career, but the majority dont run quick, have bullet arms and solid field vision. When those guys graduate from college, the market for them really isn't out there. Probably because everyone is just as fast as they are. Ive also noticed that with NCAA 11. Even tho you got QBs as fast as RBs, the D-line moves just as well and so does the O-line. The big guys dont seem to waddle in mud anymore, like in the old days. Everytime I hit the outside, I only get yards with a QB if someone throws up a block or two.
LOL thats true, Mcnabb had no choice but to drop to pocket after he was taking hits left and right. Yeah option/scrambling QBs are fast, mobile guys who can work in the college system because not every team is athletically gifted as the NFL is of course. Scramblers just arent successful because they dont focus on their passing skills at all. Vick as you was an example, guy has a bullet arm but no accuracy whatsoever. Most scramblers in college barely got over 55 percent passing mark and the ones who did barely threw 200 passes in a season. Like Pat White, guy had a great passing completion percentage, too bad he averaged about 175 yards passing a game. The reason why D Lines move as fast as QBs and RBs, check out the ACC ratings. They made it so that QBs have 75-85 in acc but can have 80-90 in speed. There are some O lineman who even got 70 in speed or 85 in acc now. But they attempted to balance out WRs, RBs and QBs acceleration abilities so they would blaze for 80 yard runs constantly. I did manage to break 80 yard runs on the outside but once again, those super teams will put an end to that by the second half due to the new AI laws that can now correct defensive gaps.
Hate to be a stinker on this issue, but ever since the two upgrades, the game seems to not be as fun. It plays like NCAA 10 more than 11 now. :SMDH:smt089
lol good thing i dont leave my ps3 connected to the internet. you should have the option NOT to download a patch, if all you want to do is play it offline anyway.
