odd man out? 90% of the heads in this thread couldn't tell you the starters from MY squad, the Wizards. hahaha that's aiight tho, i'll still be up in verizon center for a few home games this season, again. win or lose (normally the second), i still ride with my hometeams. "doo iiittt!!!" :smt026
^^^ Shiiieeet. Waaay closer than anyone else will ever get. He doesn't need to be Jordan, he's Kobe. One of the top 5 best players to ever play the game, all stats included. That is, of course, my opinion. The numbers speak for themselves. I'd like to see him win another ring this year, to even further solidify the point. We'll see....
I don't recall Kobe ever saying he was Jordan status. But damn if he ain't close. Seriously, people act like Jordan is COMPLETELY untouchable. Like it or not, Kobe is one of the greatest people to ever touch the ball. And it ain't just regular fans saying this shit.
Agreed but he lacks in the most important role. He's not a leader he doesn't make everyone around him better. I think kareem said it best when he says this current generation missed out by not playing college ball. They didn't develop the skills to be true leaders like MJ like Magic or even Isiah Thomas
There's conflict with the leader thing, then. Because All of his teammates see Kobe as a leader. They say Kobe pushes, and expects the best out of his teammates. Like a leader, Kobe has to play the bad guy sometimes and get on his teammates, but even they say it's worth it, because it makes them better. I don't know too much about MJ's leadership skills, because I was too young to remember, but I've always seen Kobe as a leader. Kareem is right though. It's almost universally known that the younger generation is missing out on something, these days.
You guys laugh because he doesn't play for your team. Shiiieet. You know where the talent is. And we "witnessed" LeBron.... come again?? Only thing left is surpassing Jordan in all his stats and beating the Celtics.. did I miss anything?
Slow down LA. First off Lebron is at the beginning of his prime and he didn't have the best center in the league as his go to. That was just a great team. Jordan proved he made everyone better because they all did nothing after he left.
Who was the Center on the Bulls during their Dynasty-era?? Hmmm... Anyhow, LeBron has some serious decision making to do. His current team has no coach and his potential teams of being traded to aren't so promising either. The guy has his work cut out for him and he doesn't even know which team he plays for.
Have you seen the Knicks roster? TMac is the only star on there and that's not saying much. Anything would help them out. But just cause you have a star player don't mean shit unless you have a supporting cast. It would be nice to get Dwade too. Then we can talk... But about Kobe. They act like he's the damn Messiah and can do no wrong. I'm surprised they gave Ray Allen as much love as they did. Had that been Kobe, oh lawd. Might as well go into overtime just discussing his great accolades.
They gave Ray props because dude went nuts and made history. We may never see that again. If Kobe did that, it would only further prove the point that he's one of the greatest to ever play the game. Not because he made all those threes, but because he did that in addition to all the other records he's broken throughout the course of his career. Numbers don't lie. The same could be said about Michael Jordan and him being "untouchable" in terms of being compared to.
