Protesters Target Fox News for Coverage of African Americans
And here in New York, dozens of people converged outside the headquarters of Fox News to protest its coverage of Barack Obama and African Americans. The rapper Nas helped deliver more than 600,000 signatures demanding changes at Fox News.

Nas: “This should outrage every American that Fox uses hateful language to talk about the person who may be the first black president. But the Obamas are not the only targets. Fox’s pattern is race-baiting and fear-mongering regularly, focuses on black leaders, black institutions and ordinary black people, like when they used the solemn occasion of Coretta Scott King’s funeral to call black leaders racist. That’s not acceptable. It’s offensive to black Americans. It’s offensive to all Americans. That’s why I wrote on my new album a song called ‘Sly Fox’: ‘Watch what you watchin’/Fox keeps feeding us toxin/Stop sleepin’/Start thinkin’."

This is pretty laughable, since Nas is now known for saying negative things about people of his own race, same goes for most of today's rappers. Fox News is very prejudiced, but not racist. I do agree with the baby mama graphic posted to refer to Michelle Obama being very bad, as well as the constant and obsessive Obama bashing primarily due to his political views. Quite honestly, all it matters for Fox is any of the news staff has a conservative-based viewpoint, it doesn't matter what race he or she is.

And Nas should consider cleaning up his own image (especially with the BS he pulled at the Grammys with wearing a t-shirt that said the n-word, while promoting that awful and racist CD) before he even thinks about doing something like this. This is like an active Klan member protesting something that is racist against minorities. Even though I concur with protesting Fox News, Nas should stay out of this, especially with all the crap he has done.

I don't know who the hell Uncle Ruckus is, but I personally find it extremely hypocritical and ridiculous of rappers known for violent lyrics and throwing down n-words in their music, creating a whole bunch of false stereotypes about minorities, then turn around and say that a news organization is racist. I will say Fox News is very slanted and biased, especially with Hannity being the ringleader of obsessive attacks on Obama, and on occasion Fox analysts would say out-of-bounds things about those who are Democrat, however this doesn't necessarily mean Fox is racist.

How do you explain guest hosts who talk about al sharpton having to enter the white house from the back door...and saying that "w" should hide the valuables when al visits...and o reilly talking about being "suprised" at how civil black people were when he went to sylvia's.

And for the last time, rap music is entertainment! If you dont like the content of rap music, fine, then you should also object to nude art and pictures and r-rated and x-rated movies. If you dont object to those things but you do object to rap music (btw, all rap isnt "gansta" rap) then you are a hypocrite!

JellyB,I remember Ron Brown's son said on Hannity's show said most whites listen to rap and hip-hop music when Sean said the music is evil. Uncle Ruckus and the house slaves should be literate when it comes to Black music.

I guess he was expecting us to eat EVERYTHING with our hands, while flinging poop and dropping elbows.

Really, if he said what you wrote, he really needs to get out more and stop watching those jackasses who represent our people, on TV.

I'm no fan of Al Sharpton, since I personally consider him more as an entertainer than a civil rights activist, and he is far from perfect himself with his own tax issues and a prior history of not thinking what he says, but he has been proven to stand up for what is right and be against whatever is wrong. He has a record of helping out minorities and has staged protests against racist activities and offensive content (the crap scattered all over hip-hop these days).

Nas is simply doing all of this just to gain attention for himself. if he really truly cares about racism, he wouldn't be glorifying the n-word in the manner he has done for the past several months. I agree Fox News is very, very biased and prejudiced, with some of the analysts being closeted racists, but that doesn't mean Fox overall is racist, not when there are several anchors and analysts who happen to be black. I used to watch Fox several years ago, and found out the hard way that it is basically a tool for the GOP and Bush, which it really is more than anything else.
