I'm not one for the romance genre but find this interesting in that a white female wrote this novel featuring a black male and white female lead. If you think about it, the dominant narrative about black men and white women is frequently distilled through the prism of the white male dominated pornography industry or other medium where the authors are rarely black men or white women. You might want to give it a shot.

Being a HUGE fan of The Room, I asked for this book for my birthday:

I just recently finished this book. OMG. If you've seen this movie (and if you haven't it's a MUST SEE) then you'll enjoy this book.

It's full of insight into the mind of Tommy Wiseau.

And it made me want to watch The Room as I read it.

Would you recommend reading the book or watching the movie first?

You should definitely watch the movie a couple of times first before reading the book.

Seeing the movie first will help you have a greater appreciation of the book.

Plus, Greg Sestero writes the book as if you have seen the movie. It'll make more sense to see the movie at least once.

But, trust me when I tell you that you'll want to experience The Room more than once.

Awesome. Thanks, Bookie. I typically read the books first, and sometimes I don't even bother with movie versions when I really like a book (especially with certain authors) due to too many disappointments. Some stories just come together better when you read and watch them, so it's nice to know which one provides the best foundation for the story to get the most out of it. :smt023

Yeah, I almost always try to read the book first, if it's a story I'd be interested in seeing the movie.

This book is like a supplement to the movie. More of a behind-the-scenes look at everything leading up to the movie and filming of the movie.

So definitely watch the movie first, a few times.

I spend too much time on FB and don't read my much any more. Gotta change that. Last book I read was Dan Brown's Inferno, and before that It Starts With Food.

My friend I know I'm not the most popular here. What you see is what you get. I have literally hundreds of titles on Asian history, philosophy, traditions, martial arts, culture etc.... in my personal library of nearly 1500 books. I'm willing to share what I have to you for your own research. I picked up two hard to find books today.

Moving Zen: One Man's Journey to the Heart of Karate by C.W. Nicol

Martial Meditation: Philosophy and the Essence of the Martial Arts by Daeshik Kim and Allan Back.

    Enjoy my friend.
