This thread is like Goodreads for me. LOL. I enjoy reading peoples' thoughts on books they read. That being said, I understand that's time consuming, so even a rating system would be good. I like to hear what people have to say about what they read.
I know I'm guilty of doing it. Sometimes I do mention when a book sucks though. lol I'll try to do better.
You would be the other one I was thinking of when I wrote that. LOL. But I think there are others, too. And I'm even guilty of it at times. I just like to "hear" what people think of the books they read.
"Parting the Clouds: The Science of the Martial Arts: A Fighters Guide to the Physics of Punching and Kicking for Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu and the Mixed Martial Arts" by Grenville Harrop "Anatomy for Martial Artist" by Professor Jane Carr (9th Degree Black Belt) "Biomechanics of Human Motion: Applications in the Martial Arts" by Emeric Arus, Ph.D.
Currently reading Tolstoy's Anna Karenina... and I feel like that counts for the last three books I've read, as it's the equivalent of about 4 books I can't make up my mind about it, because it's well written, interesting and vivid storytelling, but I'm almost finished and I'm realising it's actually not going anywhere. It's like a series of events with no real climax. Anyone else read it? Thoughts?
I saw the movie does that count? You've been thoroughly missed Aussie. Glad to see you posting :freehug:
hehe thanks drae- I like the new black and white emoticon! :freehug: There's a movie? I had no idea... must look it up
Yeah I was forced to see it last spring/summer. IT WAS LOOOOOOONNNNNGGG for absolutely no reason. Not my cup of tea at all. If you want a really long book to read that actually grabs you and is every much a classic check out either a Tale of Two Cities or my personal favorite Gone With The Wind
Its more my gf than me, she was a literature major in undergrad so we spent a lot of Saturdays over the summer reading to each other either in the park or at the beach.
lmao I totally got over my "allergies" last spring/summer. She brings out the corn its so damn lame. If I weren't in this relationship I'd spend a lot of time making fun of it lol
Awwwww....that is so romantic. I can already see you now, sitting on a bed reading fairytales to the little one :smt054
lol I hope so. Even though the circumstances aren't ideal I'm betting it will be a lot of fun My favorite stories were from the bible when I was a child. Especially during Christmas time. I would read a bunch of them before Christmas eve with my grandmother, it was a lot of fun
