"The Karate Code" by Jesse Enkamp. Ae excellent plethora of wisdom of some of the last authentic living legends of true classical traditional karate. Traditional Karate as in other martial arts are dying, thanks to the West. "Mindset: The New Psychology of Success" by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. An eye opener of a book in that it gives insights on how to rid oneself of limitations, particularly those that others try to hold you back. "Mindsight: The New Science of Personal Transformation" by Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. I enjoyed this read on developing self mastery in oneself. As a black man I believe this is where the next true revolution that blacks need to develop within themselves (self mastery to achieve anything), unfortunately, the pressures of culture that promote sameness and not uniqueness hampers many.

Okay...I read crap as I have to read a ton of serious shit for work 1. 20 things you didn't know 2. for one more day 3. it's called a break up because its broken Starting Act Like a LAdy Think Like a Man tonight
Sadly, I am in graduate school so I am currently surrounded by school books. I long for the day when I can read for pleasure again.
I felt the SAME way LOL. Now I read utter crap LOL. I tend to have several crappy books going at once LOL. Right now its Can you tell I just broke up with someone? LOL
I just watched the think like a man movie this weekend, you will have to tell me if the book is worth reading... Sometimes it is hard to move forward, but just remember the pain from the breakup will propel you into the right relationship with the right person and you will appreciate him so much more.
I don't read very much non-fiction these days...sometimes I just need a break from thinking too much...LOL! I commute on the "El" here in Chicago, so it's a nice time to get some reading done. I'm now reading "The Best Short Stories of Ring Lardner" (don't ask me why ,except its been on my shelf for about 25 years and I am just getting around to reading it). Before that, it was "Jubilee" by Margaret WAlker, a Civil War novel about a half white slave finally getting her freedom. And the one before that was "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair, and if that doesn't turn you into a vegetarian, nothing will!!
"Spirtual Dimensions of the Martial Arts" by Michael Maliszewski, Ph. D. "Mental Dominance: The Art of Ninja Mind Power" by Dr. HaHa Lung Chung Do Kwan: The Power of Tae Kwon Do" by Dr. Annellen Simpkins and Dr. Alexander Simpkins
Joined a 'book club' thing on campus... that meets on Wednesdays, during lunch. I figured... free book, free lunch; why not?! We had a choice between 5 books, this one seemed the most interesting to me.. going to start it later today: Nearly finished this one: I'm also reading these for class... if I heard of them before I enrolled in the class, I would be reading them for pleasure anyways. Sorry for the tiny pics, it's all that's really available online.
