im 30 years old and from the uk , i grew up in a mainly black area called moss side. When i went to school i had my first experiences of rasiscm and predjudice , i wasnt offended by it until i go to my teens and the white kids was actually saying it in a very nasty tone and as if to start a fight.

Which also let me to do the same thing back to them. When i left school i was out of work for a while till i was 21 had a few troubles and moved out of the area. I then got my door badge to work on night clubs and such which i still do to this day , and since i was 21 i have not heard one predjudice remark from any one that was sober. I do get the odd remarks when its last orders at the clubs and people are very drunk.

But i get on great with white people at work , but i have only one white male friend that i would call a true friend. I dont know why this is but i get on great with them at work but they dont seem to want to come out to a club with me at the weekends while we all bring our gfs or dates.

But the point i wanted to make is if there is any black men from the uk here , do they feel like rasism is not coming from white people anymore ? For me its coming from asian muslims and worse that ive ever had with whites. Maybe its just me or are other black men feeling the same thing?

im not black or a man but i was living until recently in an asian area ( seriously there was 3 white house holds and 2 black house holds, the rest were asians ) and we were treated like a freak show. they would stare at us all, spit at us, shout obsenitys and push us about in the shops ( my neighbours were black, we were all treated with equal contempt so hey at least they are equal opurtunity offenders )
daft thing was they eventually found out my surname is a common asian one and the tides turned towards me a little and when i left i was told it was such a shame i was moving because im so quiet

sounds a bad story i usually hear comments made as im walking away and ive overheard some seriously deep hatred towards black people from asian people here in the uk. I usually dont get comments made to my face as im quite a big guy. Some of my black friends have similar experiences too.

I think racism comes when a ethnic group move to a country and seem to isolate themslves from the society and dont integrate. Moss side was a prime example back when i was young it was nearly a all black area. And there was so much trouble racism and crime etc. But years have gone by and Black people have intergated much more in the uk and i feel thats why i havent heard much in the way of racism from white people. ( except on the internet)

I think generally with UK asians, from my experience Indians are friendlier than Pakistani's. Dont know why this is. I dont know, growing up with a lot of Asian friends, my experiences were slightly different to both of you. Actually most of the Indians I know/knew from school were very friendly. A lot of the Indians are children of parents who got kicked out of Uganda in the 70's, so their parents get excited when they are friends with an African. Think it reminds them of home. They are still cliquey though; its almost impossible to date an Indian girl. As for Pakistani's, I have known few, and from my experience they are less willing to integrate than Indians.

I have to agree with this actually. I have a few close Indian friends, but Pakistanis will just ignore you, or as in Robina's experience, treat you like crap.
It's true about dating though. I have a black friend who was going out with an Indian girl, a modern family, but as soon as they found out, they were ready to disown her. My white male friends have had similar experiences too.

Generally though, Asians have very secluded communities. They're openly racist towards black people and make it clear that they don't like white people very much either.
I don't know how you've found it working as a bouncer though, Devon, but the asian guys especially treat white girls like crap. They seem to think that we're all whores and will jump in bed with them at the jump of a hat. I had one guy physically try to drag me back to his apartment in broad daylight in an Asian area (I was like, 16 at the time and going from college to work) and nobody did or said anything to help.

And I'm not making a generalisation, for the record, but I do think that there's more of a seperation between asians and other races.

I think it depends on where they come from in asia. I have also dated Arab men (Asian) and the was no problems with his friends. But Asia is a big place and maybe we have a name for being easy.

the male friend who ive had the most trouble with his cousins and friends is arab acctually. i dont know what other women theyve come into contact with but i still dont appreciate being continuously hit on because they think all white girls are easy
