Wondrful first look. The director is Amma Asante, who is a black woman and the first two major films she directed are both Interracial Films Hope this doesn't get overlooked like Belle, Amma has taken some bold revolutionary steps to begin her movie director career. This movie probably was passed on and wouldn't have got made if we didn't have somebody like her.
I look forward to that flick. In the US long ago Black men in IR were sometimes harassed by the White cops where IM is legal and in peril if they were in the South. Black and Tan Clubs in the North were places where a brother can get a White girlfriend or lover.
What? I need more details on that. What's a Tan club? WW were regularly going to Black clubs back in the day?

Corection the movie name is White Girl. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/...e-girl-morgan-saylor-elizabeth-wood/89535410/
I just read that article. That's basically describes the club that Malcolm X met his White girlfriend Sophia in the the '92 Spike Lee-directed "Malcolm X" movie.
LOL! I'm just constantly surprised and amused at how literally nothing can so people from boning each other. Not even blatant I-will-literally-kill-you-if-I-see-you-together racism stops people from doin' it. Hilarious.
No question such IR happened in the Jim Crow Soutn and Apartheid South Africa. The ones who are caught and punished are recorded while others are not.
Apartheid South Africa was so mad about their relationship that they considered invading Botswana over it and pressured the British government to do something about the couple.
ran across this list...movies with IR relationships...not necessarily sexual http://www.jeffandcorey.com/EGIL.html
