why not leave the way it is ,,,,,,,, It is cool now, some people are too eager to become mods fucking power hungry assholes.

 

I don't think anybody is itching to become a mod. Webmaster has always asked us if the forum should be moderated, and the majority of us said no. The difference between this forum and a lot of other forums i've been on is the fact that we're all adults here. I've been a part of some very juvenile type forums that absolutely NEED to be moderated, but this forum for the most part doesn't appear to need it. I do however think some posters should immediately be put on suspension for flaming or deliberately attacking.

 

If there are people deliberately flaming and attacking others the wesbmaster can deal with them, I think if the webmaster is going out of town it's ok to have couple of people that hold the fort during his absence, if some people aren't itching to become mods why is this topic even entertained and all the well wishes ,,,,,, ?

 

Well, this is actually a topic that's been discussed for quite some time. During periods where the flaming and insults are at their highest peaks, the discussion of mods always comes up. It just comes with the territory i guess.

 

Because we felt like it and we don't need your permission or approval to entertain this topic.

 

The internet if full of homogenized, pasteurized, sensitized moderated forums. This place stood out because it is different.

Ultimately, it doesnt really matter one way or the other to me. I guess I just dont see the point.

well first the chatroom you can choose how long the chat history be saved so anytime an admin can read everythng even u not there.
At the forum if somene change the mind and delete a post still and admin can view this
can log in with with someone user name too
as everyone knows ip adress also

anyway back to the topic there are many members here that will be good as mods but i dont like to say my opinion on this also am not an old member and dont know many members here well so will leave this to the old members to say what they think as they know more.

 

Qualities:
Someone who is smart/tech savvy and will catch on fast so they'd learn how to do all those things in a timely manner. Someone who's been here a long time/or just a lot to know what works and what doesn't. Someone who's smart enough to figure out proper areas for threads. Maybe you can go by different people's post histories to see how they've done (whoever you have in mind). That would be great, it's a pet peeve of mine when someone posts something that would have fit better in a different subforum :smt093. That would also make this place even easier to navigate and search through. I think it would also have to be someone who is here a lot, at least everyday. There's no point in having a moderator if they aren't going to be here that much to moderate. I'd like it to be someone who's not a tight ass too. Someone who can have fun, but be serious and be able to recognize insults and bad behavior. Someone who can distinguish from light hearted teasing and jokes to intentional disrespect and hurtful insults that are just uncalled for and should not be accepted, excusable, or tolerated. Of course, also someone who's not going to show any favoritism or get off on abusing their new "powers". As I write this, I can't think of a single person here who has all these qualities, LoL. I wonder if you could find different people for different jobs. That would probably be best. Also, I think it would be important to let the people here have a say. Let the people who aren't moderators share what they think of how the moderator is doing and seriously take that into account. If it turns out who you chose is abusing their moderator status or being unfair, please take into consideration the people here who are expressing they feel that way. I think those are all the qualities I can think of right now off the top of my head. Good luck Webbiejon!
