Does anyone on this site play any MMO (Massive Multi-player Online) games? e.g. Eve Online, World of Warcraft, etc?
We have played second life and are working on making our own Also wondering where we should post some of the artwork from our blog..I'm one of the creators of Juanita DiMarca-The Woman that Loves All Men. She's a virtual character that is the modern day female equivalent or Don Juan De Marco Our first short piece(online graphic story and short film) is a send up of urban yuppie invasion and addresses inter racial dating in a way we're sure people will find funny. Here's the movie poster: http://bellameta.blogspot.com/ We'll try and post in another section later on. Also, ahyone that wants to take the pics of the blog please feel free. The high res versions are for sale and the link is on the blog page. Seasons Greetings

What is your character's name? Reason I asked this question is so people can find each other in MMO games online, or perhaps start a gaming guild.
For anyone who plays this game and likes it, I have an extra 30-day time card. But you must try out the 14 day demo and see if you like it first. Eve Online 14 Day Trial - https://secure.eve-online.com/ft/?aid=100823 Also, if you do play the game, post your character name in the game.
I play world war 2 online.. it's a world war 2 military simulation, that's massive multiplayer from the first-person view perspective.. you can fly planes, drive tanks, run around as infantry, drop mortars onto fool's heads, shoot them with rifles, etc.. It's like a First person shooter, but with you able to operate other vehicles in the war.. it's pretty fun, and a few women play it... just not a lot.. World of Warcraft wasn't my speed late edit - I've read about people actually getting married in everquest and world of warcraft before tho.. interesting you would bring this up..
I'm looking forward to the Star Trek and Stargate Massively Multiplayer games. I've always loved Star Trek and it's many incarnations growing up, and I liked Kurt Russell in the Stargate movie, along with Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver) in the Stargate TV series. Speaking of MacGyver, I need to see if anyone has old tapings of the show. this joint and the A-Team used to be hot... damn this is bringing back memories lol
I play world of warcraft not religiously like some of my old friends, but Im always up for playing with new people if anyone is on there from here.
Best MMO I've played so far is PlanetSide, but they charge a monthly fee once you get to a certain level and it's getting kind of dated.
I feel that way about city of heroes. I playe that game wayyyy too much but still somehow after a month off it I come stright back to it lolollo
I've been thinking about City of Heroes/Villains. Is it really that good? I play WoW right now but its really just because I've tried a few other MMO's and they were just boring. I'm really waiting on the Bioware Knights of the Old Republic MMO to hit.
It really easy to get into. I would wai till march though to hear about the new Champions online firnst. I can actually team with my XBOX live friends on that one. I love coh/cov because its easy to pick up I would play coh first since wayyy more folks are on that one. Its gotton easier over the years as well and lot more 50's around so you will alwys have folks who are experienced starting new toons:smt005
I play planetside once in a while, but like the webbie said, it is a bit dated. Sony has not been putting forth a worthy effort, in updating the game and developing it. I play Warhammer online currently, and am still looking forward to Stargate Worlds. I plan on creating a guild (how geeky is that ) for Stargate worlds, which is currently in beta. If you're interested in joining, let me know.
I wish they'd come out with a good replacement for PlanetSide. I thought I'd give Star Trek Online a try when it's released but it seems that game is in perpetual development. I've never been a fan of RPGs (esp. fantasy) but Stargate Worlds looks interesting - based on this clip I found. I tried to set up a guild for Eve Online a while back but it went defunct. I still have the domain name and message board -- www.screenberets.com (username - sb | password - sb)
lol.. "Perpetual Entertainment" was developing Star Trek Online, until around Jan 2008. :smt043 A different developer is at the helm, but it does look interesting. Would be sweet to have a group-driven galaxy class starship, to operate. Stargate Worlds is not purely twitch-based, like planetside, but it does look to be a combo of that, and World of Warcraft.
MMOs are evil!! They suck you in and never let you out it took me 4 reals to come back to the real world lol. Dont be this guy ==> :toimonster:
I've probably tried about 90% of mmorpg's that have EVER come out. I currently play and keep going back to WoW. Stick mainly to the medieval type themes. Warhammer was pretty cool but I need to upgrade my system in order to play that smoothly enough where it isn't annoying.
agreed... the thing about MMOs, unlike most games, is that they never end. for instance, I currently play Battleground: Europe, a ww2-era first person sim. You're constantly being sucked in by the game, as you fight for supremacy on land, sea, and air. There are hundreds of towns and a single battle over one can last for several hours. It's hard to log-off, in the middle of a fight, with tanks advancing on your position, as you lie in wait with a british 17 pounder anti tank gun.
