Minnesota Interracial Dating/Marriage (article)

I cant believe this article was published. I mean this woman is whining and blaming black men for the problem? She should understand that we are not all the same and her experience with some sorry black man doesnt mean we all are like that.

And here is a liberal/democrat i am sure, who is prejudice and stereotyping? I cant believe it, I though us Right wingers were the only ones who do that. It seems she is a big hypocrite too. She doesnt have a clue why all black men choose to date white women and actually dont know if we date exclusively. She is ASSuming alot here and I wish she would act like an adult and just ask.

Bad attitude and arrogance suck! Working in the corporate world, being pleasant is a must and really makes life easier! Just today I had a partner on the phone who, despite me being professional and nice, chose to be nasty. Big mistake! She wanted something done for her by 3:00pm, well she didn't get it until 7:30pm. And she didn't have the nerve to call me back and nag me, either - after she had hung up on me! So the bitch just had to wait.

Anyway, I've read this article and I found it curious. It tells about 30 men who were interviewed regarding their preference in women, looks versus attitude.

"We interviewed 30 Black men, ranging in age from their early 30s to late 40s. Rating them on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the highest), on their overall appearance (athletic physique, appeal, style), only one-third of them hit the top of the scale. Now, when it came to the looks department, even with the protruding guts (beer bellies), more than half of the men we considered to be yum-yum chocolate eye candy. Setting aside the perfect 10, we added another 20 who did not know we selected them based on the size of their waistlines. In choosing 30 candidates for the survey, we eliminated any men who were admitted women bashers, who were recently divorced, men who preferred same sex partners, and those who took pride in announcing that they are a “Pimp� or “Player.� We did keep both professional and blue-collar workers, single and married, average-looking Black men.

To see if responses were strictly out of the melting pot of the male brain, or were affected by what was in front of them, 15 were interviewed by Cheril, an attractive, size six, Black, single woman with an arrogant attitude. The last 15 were interviewed by Shannon, an attractive, statuesque, size 14, single woman, with a pleasant personality and a Ph.D. at the end of her name tag.

Each man was asked a question that required they choose between two types of women, (A) or (B). Then, we opened up a forum and asked them, collectively, to tell us what they disliked and appreciated about Black women. They were free to make comparisons (to other races, sizes, looks), provocative comments, complaints or compliments.

Here is how the survey went. Every man was shown pictures that represented two types of Black women, and were told what their personalities were like. They were then asked which type would be their preference. The choices were purposely designed to be opposites in physical appearance and persona.

The (A) type woman was a gorgeous Halle Berry type and small (size 6), but she had a crappy attitude.
The (B) type woman was overweight but with a loving personality.

Surprisingly, 25 out of 30 men chose the type (A). Cheril, the size 6 woman with the arrogant attitude, was asked if she was single, handed a business card and asked out by 12 of the 15 men that she surveyed. Three of them were married. On the other hand, Shannon, the attractive 25-pound overweight woman with a pleasant personality and a Ph.D. on her nametag, was asked if she was single by only one man. But she was complimented by almost every man that she surveyed, on her beautiful smile. None of the men mentioned Cheril’s smile."

 

That is so true!!! LMBO Dont let these guys on here fool you with their denouncing of black women and their attitudes. MOST will still try to get with a beautiful woman and will happily put up with an attitude if she will just be with them.

 

That's only a coincidence. Those men don't make up the majority of how most black men feel. This site is another example.

 

No, of course they don't. These were only 30 men, and they HAD to make a choice between two evils - imperfect looks or a bad attitude, and hey they preferred good looks. If I was participating in that survey, I don't know what the hell I would choose. I know I'm a sucker for good looks too, but I couldn't deal with a man's arrogant attitude either. A mature confident man does not have a need in his life for arrogance and negativity, becuase they are only roadblocks in the way of our happiness and internal growth, I feel.

 

Uh huh... they WERE just looking to get laid. I agree.

That's probably why none of them mentioned the arrogant one's smile.

Minneapolis IR couples sure must scare black women

 

All I keep hearing about is Minneapolis. Damn, I need to make that a destination on my 'places-in-the-world-to-visit' list. I'm really curious to see if the IR between BM/WW is REALLY all what everyone is making it out to be.

In the meantime, I think SoCal will do quite fine. I'm not far from the infamously IR San Diego and I'm also quite close to Los Angeles which has a more-than-average IR environment (though that city isn't mentioned on this site as being very IR).

 

san diego and san jose are great though, but yes Minneapolis is the place!! Actually MONTCLAIR NEW JERSEY is the #1 place according to the IR publications!

 

I'm sure it is. San Francisco is a pretty live place.

 

Yes it is a wild place and good, thats why Oakland is named one of the top areas. I like just north of there in Sonoma and Napa and south down near santa cruz and big sur

I noticed the same thing when I was there a few months ago. The numbers are definitely evening out. Someone once posted projections that eventually bw will surpass bm in IR.

That's exactly what I was thinking! That's like Utah having some of the best IR communities in the country. It just doesn't seem to make sense. But hey, I'm definitely not against it in any way.

 

well Utah doesnt have that many, while minneapolis has alot, a very many numbers and I was just wondering how come that came to be.

 

I think I stated my previous post wrong. I know that Utah has barely any IR at all, if any. It's a very white state like Minnesota though, which I was trying to say. Like, if Utah had a large amount of IR like Minnesota, that would shock me the same way the news about Minnesota having many IR relationships did.

 

I can answer that. It's because of the ethnic mix in MN. Most of the whites in MN are of Nordic (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, ect.) or Germanic descent. Everyone who has been to Europe knows that women from these ethnic groups are down with Black men big time.

Case in point: Former Vice President Walter Mondale's -- who's of Norwegian descent -- daughter, Eleanor, dated many Black guyz long before her father became VP. She dated them in Minnesota. Bingo!

it didnt shock me about Minnesota, I always knew that--i was just interested in what others thought my be the factors in it being such an IR friendly place.

yes, i knew Eleanor Mondale did, that is cool. My grandmother went to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin in the 1940s and said it was pretty open minded up there back then too.
