Damn...it went from sugar to shit real quick...:| http://www.newpittsburghcourieronli...l-baisden-reportedly-locked-out-of-his-studio Total disrespect to do him like that, imo.
"Who would have ever thought that a Black man from the South Side of Chicago, with no college degree, no formal training in radio, TV, or writing, and the youngest son to a single 17 year-old teenaged mother with three children, would one day lead civil rights protest and help to elect the first Black President. Life is truly amazing! If he gets to claim that, we ALL do.:smt033 I'm not really a big fan of Baisden, seems too full of himself. His relationship advice I think is also lacking. But it's not uncommon when radio show hosts are fired not be allowed back on the air with their local station. Why would you give a disgruntled employee hours on air to rip his employer?? I don't think so. Still I give him props for not becoming a statistic.
He wasn't fired. He just chose to not renew his contract, it seems. He is the one host that was often open to IR discussions, and he never did IR dirty, on both his radio and TV show. He was very much about ONE LOVE. He also did manage to score an interview with the President before this past election, and while I remember listening to it that Barack didn't seem too familiar with him (he seemed distracted aka interview #105), and MB was a little to worshippy in the interview (asked no tough question's about what Barack could do for the B.C), Michael was extremely active and passionate amongst his listeners to get out and vote. I also don't see why he couldn't nor wouldn't want to finish out his show on good terms. What good businessman who is MOVING on to better thing or trying to secure another radio gig WOULD bad mouth his employee live on air? He's too smart for that.
His employers chose not to renew his contract and cut off negotiations. If he'd quit, there be no issue about being locked out of his radio broadcast studio. I can't really diss him. I respect his hustle. I just don't really like him if that makes sense. He doesn't come across as a sincere person to me. I always feel like he puts on a face for the public and is playing a role he made up.
I caught his radio show once. When he gets calls from females who claim that their boyfriends had cheated on them, he turns the focus from the boyfriend to the caller by asking if she was also at fault. When she says no, Michael calls her out on the claim. He never seems to let up on the issue of relationships with his street smart way.
self-loving or not...MB got me through MANY drag-ass days at work him and Steve Harvey and a little Meek Mil and Rick Ross...... :smt034
He'll get picked up by some other station or do what Howard Stern did, get on Sirius XM and make serious shows, money and hold nothing back.
M.B. Did frequently have to curtail his thoughts and dialogue on his shows to appease management. Therefore, I suppose this is a blessing in disguise. I would appreciate him more based on how he reacts to the current events, hopefully with dignity so he can continue to uphold his rep and mentorship to his audience. Reminds me of Big Tigger and his firing from WPGC. Still not entirely sure the details behind that debacle, but I have heard its dramatic.
