Miami

I am going to be in Miami in a few weeks. It will probably only be for two days or so. Does anyone know any good places to go?

I am not huge into clubbing. I would prefer a cool place with live music, jazz if possible.

I will be staying in the Coral Gables/Coconut Grove area.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Too funny. I have found some places....no worries.

 

On budget? Do you prefer glitz and glam, or more laid back / casual?

For live music and a not so touristy feel, I'd highly recommend Lauderdale by the Sea on Friday night. Miami / South Beach I generally avoid. The crowd is a huge turnoff for me. Las Olas Blvd. has an Ok feel to it, you do have a bit of the frat crowd but it's not overwhelming. Hmm.. it's hard to make recommendations without knowing more specifically what you're looking for.

But yeah.... for Miami, I may not be too great a resource.

 

Nice but not too glitzy. No frat stuff....lord I would feel a bit too old. Good drinks menu with lots of martinis and live music.

I think I will be ok. It is going to be an in and out visit.
