The Congress has received lots of free advice lately from Mexican government officials and illegal aliens waving Mexico's flag in mass demonstrations coast-to-coast. Most of it takes the form of bitter complaints about our actual or prospective treatment of immigrants from that country who have gotten into this one illegally -- or who aspire to do so. If you think these critics are mad about U.S. immigration policy now, imagine how upset they would be if we adopted an approach far more radical than the bill they rail against that was adopted last year by the House of Representatives -- namely, the way Mexico treats illegal aliens. In fact, as a just-published paper by the Center for Security Policy's J. Michael Waller ( www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/Mexicos_Glass_House.pdf) points out, under a constitution first adopted in 1917 and subsequently amended, Mexico deals harshly not only with illegal immigrants. It treats even legal immigrants, naturalized citizens and foreign investors in ways that would, by the standards of those who carp about U.S. immigration policy, have to be called "racist" and "xenophobic." For example, according to an official translation published by the Organization of American States, the Mexican constitution includes the following restrictions: • Pursuant to Article 33, "Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country." This ban applies, among other things, to participation in demonstrations and the expression of opinions in public about domestic politics like those much in evidence in Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere in recent days. • Equal employment rights are denied to immigrants, even legal ones. Article 32: "Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners under equality of circumstances for all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions or commissions of the Government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable." • Jobs for which Mexican citizenship is considered "indispensable" include, pursuant to Article 32, bans on foreigners, immigrants and even naturalized citizens of Mexico serving as military officers, Mexican-flagged ship and airline crew, and chiefs of seaports and airports. Article 55 denies immigrants the right to become federal lawmakers. A Mexican congressman or senator must be "a Mexican citizen by birth." Article 91 further stipulates that immigrants may never aspire to become cabinet officers, as they are required to be Mexican by birth. Article 95 says the same about Supreme Court justices. In accordance with Article 130, immigrants -- even legal ones -- may not become members of the clergy, either. • Foreigners, to say nothing of illegal immigrants, are denied fundamental property rights. For example, Article 27 states, "Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters." • Article 11 guarantees federal protection against "undesirable aliens resident in the country." What is more, private individuals are authorized to make citizen's arrests. Article 16 states, "In cases of flagrante delicto, any person may arrest the offender and his accomplices, turning them over without delay to the nearest authorities." In other words, Mexico grants its citizens the right to arrest illegal aliens and hand them over to police for prosecution. Imagine the Minutemen exercising such a right. • The Mexican constitution states that foreigners -- not just illegal immigrants -- may be expelled for any reason and without due process. According to Article 33, "the Federal Executive shall have the exclusive power to compel any foreigner whose remaining he may deem inexpedient to abandon the national territory immediately and without the necessity of previous legal action." As the immigration debate in the Senate moves into a decisive phase this week, legislators who believe America's southern border must be secured, the nation's existing immigration laws enforced and illegal aliens not rewarded with permanent residency and a direct path to citizenship are being sharply criticized and, in some cases, defamed as bigots and xenophobes. Yet, even their maximalist positions generally pale in comparison with the treatment authorized by the Mexican constitution. So the next time such legislators -- and the majority of Americans for whom they speak -- are assaulted by Mexican officials, undocumented aliens waving Mexican flags in mass demonstrations here in the United States, clergy and self-described humanitarians, businessmen and other advocates of illegal immigration, ask them this: Would they favor having the U.S. impose the same restrictions on immigrants -- legal and illegal -- that Mexico imposes on their counterparts there? Nothing of the kind is in the cards, of course. Nor should it be. Legal immigration and the opportunity for foreign investors and other nationals to contribute to this country are not only one of its hallmarks -- they are among the reasons for its greatness. Still, we should not allow the hypocrisy of others' treatment of undocumented aliens in their countries to induce us to refrain from taking effective steps to prevent further illegal immigration: by building a fence along our southern border; by enforcing immigration laws in the workplace and elsewhere; and by discouraging more such violations -- with potentially grave national security implications -- by dealing effectively with those who have already broken those laws by coming here without permission. Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. is the president of the Center for Security Policy and a columnist for The Washington Times.
Well mexico protects it's border and deports illegals..but they cry foul and racism when we even comsider doing the same.
It's a conversation.. We can't just talk about IR relationships as if they aren't other issues to discuss.
I think the border needs to be straightened. It is just unfair and unsafe to have people coming in and out of a country's border. That being said, it would be absolutely inhumane to send 11 million people back to their country. Mind you, these people have kids and family members that are now American citizens. Breaking them up would be nothing short of chaos. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there. Like any group of immigrants, the perception of Mexicans isn't so great. I often wonder if a lot of those perceptions are based on being brainwashed by the media. One complaint I have heard is that they come here and refuse to blend into the American culture. Is blending in really a requirement to becoming an American citizen? If so, how do we begin to define which qualities are truly American. I don't support illegal immigration, but also don't support any group of people being mistreated.
Yes it is a good idea..they protect their culture and southern border..so they should shut the fuck up about us protecting ours They deport illegals and do not allow them to buy homes..work..sue..protest..bank..or drive.. If mexico can deny all that to poor illegals then we should be able to deny those same things to mexico's illegals.. What's ggod for the goose is good for the gander..
You don't have to deport them..just stop breaking federal laws allowing them to work..stop accepting their forged documents..audit SS#'s...stop giving them benefits..and lock them up for the shit they lock everybody else up for..At least stop letting them break the laws. If Blacks sent AS MANY BILLIONS out of the Country every year as the mexicans do annually..whites would be lynching us..! The 14th amemdment deals with the children of African slaves..not the offspring of mexican illegals.. Birthright citizenship to illegal immigrants should be RESCINDED RETROACTIVELY..!!! Congress deliberately misinterpreted the 14th amendment as a way to lure mexico's criminal/peasant class into the pockets of U.S big-business .. Trust me When the mexicans take over they will not be as generous with their schools and communities as we have been.. They won't hire us like we hired them..they won't speak-up for us and ours the way we spoke up for them and theirs.. They won't wave and smile when we move next door to them.. Just look what's happening in prisons all over this nation..25% of all U.S inmates are illegal mexicans Those mexican inmates don't attack and kill white boys..but they do attack and kill Black inmates.. The do ally themselves with racist white gangs like the Aryan brotherhood and the NAZI LOWRIDERS.. The Nazi Lowriders are a racist group that recruits whites and MEXICANS..!! That's a gauge of their mentality..they'd rather align themselves with nazis than with Blacks..yet we still march alondside them like they're our friends..
I've always wanted to get a high-powered microphone and hide it under my clothes so when I go into a store ran by foreigners especially latinos I could record everything they said in their language. I would then get someone to translate the conversations so I could hear exactly what they think of blacks besides the obvious. I would want to do this over the course of a few months so that I could get a overall view. I would also like to put on a tiny hidden camera so that I could record actual faces. I would probably make a documentary about it and try get it to a good news show to put the spotlight on the situation. My primary list of targets would be: 1) Latinos(especially dominicans) 2) Arabs 3) Chinese 4) East Indians
Those Black ass dominicans WISH they were latinos.. They'd be shocked to hear what mexicans and other mestizos say about them..
I agree with all of the above, and blacks who are standing up for illegals won't be given an ounce of credit for it. It's true about them being embraced when they move into black neighborhoods but once they turn them brown they look at blacks like WTF are you doing here. In California they hang flags outside of buildings they control, but I doubt if they do that in white neighhoods. They have long aligned themselves with white racist groups particularly in jail. I heard about a group of them attending a nazi-like rally in Florida with their white buddies, but were forced to leave even though the organizers appreciated the fact that they sympathized with their cause. They go to great lengths to signal to whites that they stand ready to assist them with their agenda against blacks.
That's funny because I met this dominican guy today and he knew through a friend of mine that I live in Dominican Central aka Washington Heights and he asked, "So how are you being treated in the spanish community"? All I said was "I don't have any problems" I love speaking with ambiguity!! What I was really saying was "I don't have any problems with you guys but you seem to have all of this hatred for blacks for no justifiable reason." Why would he ask that kind of question if he didn't know that most latinos resent blacks. If I didn't have such a big place for so little I would have moved a long time ago. Latino's thinking patterns about blacks as a whole in NYC is twisted like origami.
It's funny how all the groups that have such a low opinion of Blacks conveniently came to America AFTER THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT..
I'm sure it's considered common knowledge by now that Latinos and many white folks think with a lopsided mindset... but, Latinos are definitely MORE guilty of it. Some of these rancid retards will align themselves with the struggle against 'whitey' whenever they want to achieve something that we blacks still have to suffer for, such as respect and equality, but all of THAT goes out of the window whenever some of these dicks want to start another revolution to add to all the other ones, but who do they target? Us, of course... so, these Latino assholes who are pissed off with white people are getting their revenge by attacking and rivaling US??? What kind of sense does THAT make? I've seen MORE articles on Latino hate crimes against blacks in this country alone. I know THAT tells everyone in here somethin'... and, I've already told most of you about the incident I had with the Dominican chick who was defending Vicente Fox so arrogantly, so... I guess that's it then. If you know a Latino, or someone who is half-Latino, or claims to be, question their motives if they want to befriend your 'black ass.' They maybe YOUR friend today, but tomorrow may show you another day with them that you certainly won't like. A black guy and a Latino are walking home from a hard day's work at Philip Morris. They begin to engage in a conversation with the Latino speaking first. Latino Guy: So, (says the guy's name, whatever it is) what are your plans for tonight? Gonna stay at home and watch TV, take the Miss's out or what? Black Guy: Uh, I don't know, man. Not sure yet. What are you up to? Latino Guy: Um, I don't have any plans, so I figured I'd ask you. Maybe I could come by later and we can play some cards, maybe a little poker or somethin? Black Guy: Yea, let's do that. That'll be fine. Latino Guy: Alright, cool, bro. *both gentlemen arrive at a bus stop to sit down and wait for their buses, but the Latino dude has to leave and get on his bus because his has arrived first* Latino Guy: Oh, well, there's my bus, man. I gotta go. I'll call ya later. Black Guy: Alright, brah, I'll see ya later. * as the 2 of these guys begin to shake hands and depart, a half-dozen skinheads are actually lurking around in the neighborhood watching them, and suddenly, the skinheads start to ambush the 2 men by running out of hiding fiercely with large blades* Black Guy: *hears them coming* Oh, shit! Hey, (to the Latino) look out! Latino Guy: *looks confused* Erm... *scratches his head in confusion* * skinheads are getting much closer now* Latino Guy: (talking to the skinheads) Hey, don't worry, I got 'em! (Grabs on to the Black Guy as an attempt to get him killed by the skinheads) Black Guy: (fighting off the Latino) What the fuck are you doin??? Get off of me you stupid son-of-a-bitch! (struggles with the Latino to break free) Latino Guy: (talking to the Black Guy) What you say, nigga?!? (starts punching and kicking the Black Guy again and again) *skinheads finally get to the 2 men, and then proceed to beat down ONLY the Black Guy WITH the Latino Guy himself* Skinheads: Die, coon! Take it, spade! (beating and cutting up the Black Guy everywhere) Latino Guy: Yeah, take it, bitch! (doing the same as the skinheads) *the Latino guy's bus pulls off leaving him behind because he was too busy aiding skinheads in a hate crime* Latino Guy: (talking to the skinheads) Can you believe it? This nigger made me miss my freakin' bus! (spits on the Black Guy) Skinhead Leader: (looks deep into the Latino's eyes) WHITE POWER! ( all the skinheads run off into the shadows again) Latino Guy: Yeah, right on! White power, and Latin power too! (shaking his fists in the air) *the Black Guy is badly injured, dazed, confused, and crippled nearly to death* Black Guy: (mumbling in pain) ...mer-mummm-uhm...ow...ermmm... *the Latino kneels down to touch the Black Guy after what happened* Latino Guy: Hey, bro, are you OK? *looks very concerned* You alright?
[ Sardonic Genie that post was right on point!! Bro I tell ya, the best thing to do is to just ignore the hell out of them and stay to yourself. How can you have intellectual discourse with people who think like that? I mean, with all of those negative views and stereotypes in their head I wonder if they REALLY listen to a black man when he speaks. I bet you $100 that if any one of us saw a dominican chick trying to cross the street without looking while a speeding car was coming and we tried to get her attention and warn her about it, I bet you that WITHOUT EVEN THINKING OR TRYING TO LISTEN to what we were saying to her she would just ignore us simply because we are black and keep walking. They are so programmed and dumbed down..it's pathetic!!! There was a story that a friend of mine told me about that he had read in a magazine or a newspaper some years back where there was an asian woman and a black man walking towards each other on the street. When she realized that it was a black man she quickly clutched her purse and crossed the street. While on the other side of the street a white man was walking towards her and as he passed her, he quickly snatched her purse and ran and he was never caught. When he told me that story I about fell out on the flo'. I would have paid the price of a movie ticket to see that whole scene develope and I would have walked right up to her and just busted out laughing and walked off.
The advice you wrote is greatly considered, and the irony of that Asian bitch's situation makes me snicker too. Knowing myself, I probably would walk up to her and do the same thing.
