That article is so slanted.. Now if it were men going somewhere and having some fun, who would say a word, but put a woman there and she must be hearing lies because a man would only say such things for your money. I've been to Jamaica.. I wasn't 40 but I can tell you those men search the women tourists out... especially those w/o their bfs or husbands and they're lines are very polished. Sure it might be How Stella got her Groove Back.. but so what?
Well... in general I must say I support for prostitution to be legal. I am certain there has been demand and supply ever since people started walking this earth. I don't make a difference whether the prostitute is a woman or a man, as long as they do it by their own will and aren't "pimped" But, back to the topic. It is always a different story when a woman goes out to 'get hers'. How can she, how dare she, what is wrong with her??? With a gut it's like a right of passage. The sad thing about Jamaica in particular, the reputation is well known and I would NEVER go there unless I go with a man. I don't want to hang out at the beach and be approached by prostitutes or should I rather say call boys.

Well, QSASSY, maybe you should have...with the adequate protection of course...but maybe you missed out on some interesting experience!! Life is too short...let`s stop being ugly moralists...prostitution should legal everywhere, like it is in Germany, where these girls have comfortable working conditions, they pay taxes, etc... If these dudes in the Caribbean can make a somewhat decent living by satisfying some frustrated single WW, good for the dudes and for the women!! well I was in a different place and time when I was in Mobay.. I can't say I'd be so restrained if I went back.. Don't get me wrong.. I wasn't perfect.. but I didn't have sex.. often wonder how the guy would have been though..
Unless someone has been living under the proverbial rock, we all know that the powers that be have been trying to control the sexuality of the masses from day one. Because the powers that be are more often men, women usually get the short end of the deal. I've read articles about this before and I sense that most of the objections are because of the races of the adults involved. In this case the women are judged under a harder rule because of their choices. Agreed that if the roles had different players it would probably be ignored by the media. As usual I say more power to them. If I where in my 50's or 60's and there was a place where attractive 20 year old white women chased me... I'd move there. :twisted:

omg.. when I watched that years ago with the guy I was dating at the time and he had his dialog about Dexter.. that was sooo true.. I almost died laughing... We actually exchanged a couple letters and I was on a cruise with a stopover in Mobay.. I sent a gift package to him before my arrival and let him know about my coming into port on our day there.. but he never showed.. and I never heard from him again..
Chigirl and Jreminator have a point: Prostitution should be legal. Me, personally, I would rather a woman like me for me and not how much money she can get from me. But if a woman (or man) is of legal age and wants to sell it and there are people willing to pay the fee (and use protection) then whatever they do should be their own business. The sole problem I have with the "Dexter" thing is that many of the white women that go to the Caribbean for that will only get involved with black men when they're down there. Then whenever they come back to America, they don't want anything to do with black men until they go on their next West Indian vacation. I've never been to England, so I can't objectively comment on the attitudes of British women, but I know plenty of white American women who're like that. Many of them don't even want to work around or associate with dreadlocked black men when they return to the States. It's as if their little Caribbean adventure was a trip to the zoo or something. I know that many American men vacation for sex, too. Some of the places they go to are Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Holland, some of the Asian countries, and yes, the Caribbean. But the men who do it don't limit their interracial attractions to the women in faraway places. There are plenty of "Dexters" here in America who are just as well-endowed, technically sound, and interested in white women as the Jamaican brothers. Plus, they will do it for free. It would be nice if some of these white American women would also give black American men a chance and not limit themselves to only getting black love when they go on vacation. Well, ppl have the feeling that if they do that elsewhere, they are not judged as hard or looked at the way they would be if they did it here...plus you have the vacation factor, the freedom feeling, the beach, the erotic environment... And really, what does it mean to give BM in America a chance?? hopefully BM in America are not asking for that kind of "chance"...to sleep with some older frustrated WW ??? No problem with older frustrated WW or the BM who sleep with them...I did it once in my crazy years, and actually found it fun...but it isn`t something any young BM should forward to!! :roll:

If it's not something that a young black American should look forward to, then neither is it something that a young black Jamaican should look forward to. I'm sure Jamaican men have just as high standards of women as American men do. But hey, I'm not just talking about older women, Jreminator. Even though the particular article in question is mostly talking about older women, there are many younger women doing the same things down there. They probably don't have to pay for it, though. What I'm talking about is the much larger picture. The much larger picture has less to do with the prostitution with an old woman scenario. Why should someone have to travel that far to avoid "being judged?" I'm a black man in America; we are always being judged here. But I feel no need to travel to Amsterdam just to hide from ignorance in America. If I like white women (or any other women), I will do it in Atlanta and I will do it in Paris, too. I'm not saying that people shouldn't enjoy their vacations nor am I saying that they shouldn't have sex while on vacation, but I do think it's hypocritical to want to party with the blacks in Jamaica and then come back to America harboring the same racist attitudes and fears towards blacks that you had when you left.
