Today she blamed the Woman for giving the tapes to Radar, in a discussion about the Woman being hit twice in the face while she was holding a child. I've never heard a clearer, more obvious case of blaming the victim in my life.
I heard some of the tapes on a radio station and it was hard to tell if it was really his voice.... Maybe I haven't heard him speak in awhile, but all I could think of was: is this really Mel Gibson?? The voice reminded me of a character in a movie, but I can't think of it right now. ARGH!! And of course all of the bleeping out doesn't help either. Okay, I just listened to the link and it's nice to hear it without all of the bleeps. Wow. But why does she sound so calm when this guy is ranting and raving at her? It's a bit creepy how withdrawn she sounds from what's being said to her.
I think when you're in a abusive relationship you have to act calm, you can't go all crazy because you are scared for your life and in her case her daughter's life. It sounds like she's so used to this as well. I'm sure she's dealt with this for a long time. Poor girl.
Here's the third clip. http://gawker.com/5585841/third-horrifying-mel-gibson-phone-call-is-now-online
That's what I was going to write. It seems like it doesn't take very much for him to fly into a rage. Though, she did get angry when she brought up him hitting her.
I know. It just sounds like it was added later. It just has such a weird feel to it. I hope that she gets some help and she won't enter into another relationship like this again.
I think that it sounds odd mainly because she's recording him while they're having a conversation on speakerphone.
He should keep his mouth shut. Yelling cussing and making threats over the phone only to have his ex record it and have someone upload it on youtube is not very smart. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xml3AruC-GA&playnext_from=TL&videos=woK91uJeH5Y
I'm interested in seeing if Mel is going to make any public statements concerning this event. Will he avoid it or will he apologize like he did last time?
Maybe he will just go to rehab like all the other celebs when they get in trouble for whatever and need to rehab their image.
Oh, I see. The ol', "I vow to change my ways!" PR approach. Unfortunately, it's extremely hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
Isn't it against the law to record a conversation with the consent of the second party in California? I blame that woman since she was a idiot for making Mel look bad in the eyes of the public.
It depends upon where the call originated as well, if one party is in a state that allows that then it's not necessarily solely about what the state of California thinks. There's also a big difference between recording a conversation to use in court, and recording it to upload to YouTube. Lastly, Mel made himself look bad, she just provided an audience for him.
I'm pretty sure that the penalty for recording someone isn't as bad as the penalty for breaking someone's teeth.
