People have bought into the bullshit fantasy that many people who chose to go into law enforcement and even the military are somehow of more noble character or people of higher morals and standards compared to everyone else in society. They are not. They are just like everyone else and are capable of doing petty & evil things the same as the individuals they are supposedly paid to protect society from. Some even more so because they are in a position of power and authority.

All it is for most of them is a check and a pension nothing else. 20 years and then you get to retire? Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

I'm not saying that all cops are bad or lazy. Some do actually get into it because they honestly believe in the whole "Protect and Serve" motto. Those are the ones that usually are the decent cops who will treat people fairly and care about their community. The ones who you need to watch are the ones who are only about "Enforcing the Law". Those are the ones who usually are all about power and control and that's why they became a cop. They are the ones who will do all the dirty and fucked up shit thinking their position and status as a cop gives them authority to do whatever and protects them against being called out and punished for any wrong they may do in the name of "enforcing the law".

dont say that unless you've done it

the military is much more than a job, it's a way of life and ur the government's 'property' for 2 decades

lots of people end up doing one short stint of active duty for a reason

What does this speech have to do with police profiling and why are all the youtube comments on this seem to come from white conservatives hating on Obama? Pushing an agenda much?

I watched the first minute and a half then skipped to the middle where he was talking about black nerd kids not being appreciated or something and stopped there. Bad enough Iggy's ignorant ass has create a new profile and is trying to stealth post on here because he thinks everyone is clearly dumber than he is and no one would ever figure out it's him. Now he want's to still come through here on that anti-black conservative bullshit.

    lmao

i guess paniro's angle tho is that black 'nerds' arent appreciated, so black kids would rather dress (and behave) like thugs and get pulled over by the police, because they 'look' like criminals

that makes more sense than just a random clip with one of the nation's leading neurologists.

i do look up to ben carson tho

blacks are highly underrepresented within that level of medicine, and I know how uncomfortable it can be sticking out amongst ur peers

Since when does the way someone dress calls for a cop to tell someone he will break their arm, punch them in the face and call them a "mutt"?

As many videos out & about showing where there are white people disrespecting and cursing out cops for giving them a speeding ticket of all things and the cops don't turn around and treat them like their less than, why should the way a young black or latino kid, who is clearly not being a threat and not one as the cops clearly knew, be treated like he was doing something threatening? Seriously?? A white or Asian kid who dresses like a thug and actually commits crimes doesn't get treated that harshly when/if cops catch them in the act.

Dr. Ben Carson - Highly respectable neurosurgeon, but a stupid motherfucker when it comes to scientific understandings regarding evolutionary theory. Some level of credibility has been diminished from this man here.

    There, I said it.

I will say this in defense of the cops, dude was looking suspicious. Walking with a hoodie and constantly looking back at the cops does look off. I don't care what race you are and all the talking back escalated the hell out of the situation. I do agree with Paniro some what, its not fair and I don't like it but the way you dress does effect how you are treated. I had to learn the hard way I can't wear my Yankeer fitted in Boston. Even though I'm not a big fan of baseball there are dudes up there who act like they're the players' wives and flip the fuck out when they see it. Just like I knew that I could not wear baggy pants in Greenwich after a certain hour if I didn't want the cops bothering me. I know what you're saying, that blacks and latinos are presumed to be criminals despite action based on how we dress but I would like to see if the culture and attitudes change if we didn't dress like the guys who commit crimes.

I don't know how the cops roll up in New York & Texas, but here in Washington State, especially in the high crime gang & drug neighborhoods the cops stay on top of who's who on major offenders in the hoods they patrol on a regular. There are plenty of little big mouths & knuckleheads that walk around in their neighborhoods, baggy clothes & all, and trash talk/disrespect cops, but the cops usually know which ones are legit troublemakers or gang associates. They may see one that they know is nothing but a big mouth and do one of those slow roll ups and stare them down just to say "We're watching you" thing and then keep on rolling. They will stop someone if they appear to actually be doing something suspect but not just because they're dressed thugishly. So just on that I don't buy the whole stopping someone just because of the way they are dressed thing. If they are out and about outside of their neighborhoods, and there have been reports of crimes in an area, then yes stop and question them if they seem suspect. But not in their own neighborhoods if they are not a known troublemaker.

Well the population here and in Texas dwarfs Washington so the police can't possibly know all the "bad" kids around here. And you don't have to be part of a gang to do something illegal. Come on Ra you're better than that fam.
