More evidence that McFossil should be looking into retirement after Nov. http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/06/25/obama-and-mccain-agree-obama-is-ahead/ The Kid Rasta 8)
Wanna bet!!?? McFossil is Bush 2 -- plain & simple...and Americans are realizing this way early in da game. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-poll26-2008jun26,0,7304218.story The Kid Rasta 8)
Kid, I love your enthusiasm, however as someone who has been in politics a long time, polls come, and polls go. We will have to wait and see as November draws near.
Love the McFossil nickname, but there's a lot of time between now and November. The mud hasn't even begun to be slung yet. I'm sure Obama will win, but stranger things have happened.
Re: McFossil Is DONE I have no dog in this war, because I'm not voting. But you have a lot of hatred toward someone who served the U.S. and was a POW for 5 years. Do you hate him so much because he's not black or what? Even if you hate him, you should still respect him.
Re: McFossil Is DONE McFossil is Bush 2. I haves no luv for the buffoon in the White House. I haves no luv for Republicans either. I don't give a fukk how long McFossil was a POW. His positions on just about everything run counter to someone with half a brain. Da mofo is gonna go down big-time in Nov. BTW, for someone who is writing so much trash -- why ain't u voting!!?? U must be the lamest person on this forum. The Kid Rasta 8)
I feel bad for John McCain because he's better than the brand that he's attached to at the hip. Four years ago...if Dubya had decided not to run for a second term and it was McCain vs. Obama in '04 instead of '08....McCain would have wiped the floor with Barack. Regardless of what you think about Obama...his job is easier in a sense; the number of registered Democrats is far higher than registered Republicans in this election cycle....Obama needs to pluck a few Independents and hold his base...and he wins the election. McCain has to balance keeping his base but also has to grab a significantly larger share of Independents than Obama would have to...plus McCain would likely need to grab a few of those "working class, white Regan Democrats"....which won't be difficult against Obama but in the process of doing that...he'll likely lower the turnout among more financially stable Republicans that help line the coffers of the GOP warchest. McCain's brand by itself is good but he's running as a Republican and not a McCainican....the GOP brand doesn't have the energy it had in 2000 or 2004 and Obama is doing his best to force the GOP to beat him on issues not related to religion, character etc.....Obama's policy (whether you like it or not) is further away from Bush than McCain's is, though McCain and Bush aren't exactly palsy-walsy. This should be a landslide but it'll probably be closer than the experts think (thanks Lee Corso for that line). In 2000, there were no major wars, we had a budget surplus, gasoline was fairly cheap and President Clinton had an approval rating of 68% which was the highest of any president post WWII. Despite that...the Republican party was able to win the White House. Common sense would tell you that if the party not in power can win despite the fact that people were satisfied with the party in power (at least the president...not so much down ballot)....it would stand to reason that this time around the party not in power (Dems.) can win when the party in power (GOP) is fairing so poorly up and down the ticket. Obama's youth, relative inexperience and race will drive up the turnout but also serve as a bit of an equalizer...it may not cost him the race but it will make a race that logically should be a blowout....a race that becomes tooth and nail (maybe). Basically....unlike Bill Clinton, Obama doesn't have to be as much of a centrist....he can't be a left-wing radical but he can be left of center. The GOP, in recent years has been able to sit right of center and not really approach the middle as much as Democrats have had to....Republicans are going to have to accept the fact that they can no longer avoid the center and stay moderately to far-right of center.....they are going to have to adapt....something the Democrats learned (and are still learning) nearly two-decades ago and something the GOP will have to learn the hard way now. I'm TheChosenOne and I approve this message.
I liked McCain 8 years ago. *runs and hides* I was upset that he lost the nom to "W". But, I do think that he's past his "sell by" date and I was hoping the Republicans would have gotten a younger guy for the nominee. That would have made it a more interesting race. But, I have since crossed party lines...I'm done with the Republican party for awhile.
The fact of the matter is this election is about the economy -- stupid! McFossil is done -- plain & simple! He'll be lucky if he wins a half-dozen states. Obama will win this thing by a landslide! The Kid Rasta 8)
And you DO REALIZE that the president DOES NOT CONTROL the economy smart guy? The economy is FOREVER in a cycle, and the combination of it being an election year, as well as the media telling consumers to hoard money is the cause of a recession. All you do is spout garbage, without any real facts or knowledge. Just baseless prognostications. Maybe you should just not say anything.
Chump, That's tough shit for McFossil. He can thank the buffoon in the White House for his devastating loss in Nov. Judging from what you wrote above, you don't know jack about the economy. Maybe you should join McFossil's campaign. You'd fit right in with that loser, cause you're a loser. BTW, maybe you should take your ignorant ass outta this forum. I've been posting here long before you discovered the Internet. The Kid Rasta
Control? No. But the policies of the Government can and do affect the U.S. and global economies at large. For example, look at Bush's budgetary policies. Because of the government's ridiculous deficit spending due to in part the $2 billion a week quagmire in Iraq and the revenue lost from excessive tax cuts, the U.S. is heavily in debt to China and a few other countries. Our nation's exorbitant arrearage has caused many in the international financial markets to lose confidence in our currency which has in turn led to many businesses and governments around the world abandoning the dollar in favor of the Euro for international transactions. The greatly reduced demand for our currency led to it being devalued which in turn reduced the amount of goods that we could purchase with it, like say...oil, the increased price of which drives up the prices of pretty much everything else due increased transportation costs and voila, we have a surfeit of people struggling to keep their heads above water. If I really wanted to waste my time, I'd also give you a brief explanation on how the President's decisions not to regulate or conduct any oversight on the financial lending industry and commodities markets are also wreaking havoc on the marketplace. Yeah, so I guess all of those people are losing their homes because the media told them it would be a good idea to stop paying their mortgages too? The guy who you're responding to isn't a brain surgeon, but judging by this post, I'd say you really aren't in the position to attack his level of erudition or intellect.
