Good for him. I'm sure the constant scrutiny of his personal choices gets tiring. And how lame is it that someone would predicate their enjoyment of a musician on who he chooses to have a non-musical relationship with?

 

I think he is dating a black woman right now anyway.

He can't primarily associate with white people/women is the problem.

Certain black folks side eye the company you keep, apparently his instagram is filled with pics of attractive white women. lol

 

Why do they even care? If I like an artist, my concern is about... their ART.

 

That concept of art is not even registering with the types who think like this.

Maxwell is a commodity, they are consumers. This is a racialized country and Maxwell's music is "black" as is most of his female fanbase; so the tacit arrangement is that he appeals to their fancies. They don't like seeing black men, (particularly attractive and famous ones) fawning over white women.

Now, I think Maxwell has lost his looks and really most of the ppl checking for him are the black chicks who were in love with him 10+ years ago (and then there's that whole gay thing).

You can't tell these type of black women that there almighty purchasing power doesn't move mountains though, lol, they are always quick to tell a famous brother how they are ready to take money out his pocket when he steps out of line.
