That's an awful lot of money for just two players, not worth it in my opinion. What say you Russia?
United's Ferguson wants $90 million spending spree

06:58 AM ET 04.13 | Sir Alex Ferguson will attempt to persuade Manchester United's owners to spend big in the summer. Ferguson wants $90 million, twice the transfer budget of recent seasons, to spend on Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Valencia midfielder David Silva. With United being eliminated in the Champions League and also losing ground to Chelsea in the Premiership race, Ferguson believes his squad needs reinforcements.

Hmm, that depends. How much is $90mil in pounds? About 60mil?
I personally do not, and have not ever, seen the fuss about Benzema. The guy does not make enough impact in games for me, and I wouldn't pay any more than about 18mil for him. But I guess with buying him from Real, that won't be an option.
Silva... I like Silva, he's a good player but I don't think that he's the one to solve our midfield problems. Our wingers are pretty good, it's the centre mid, defensive mid that we have problems with. BUT, I would condone paying up to 30mil for him, he's young and he is very good.
As a supporting striker, I'd rather have someone big and strong, like Kenwyne Jones.

Fergies buying hasn't been too good recently, so I think United really need to think about this and not blow another thirty mil.

That is too much money for so few players. They better win results. No question that stadium has expensive seats and food to pay for those athletes.

if it works out at £60 mil then it seems fairly average for a large team to be spending on big name transfers
