Likely didn't expect the other chick to jump in. But yeah if she had a weapon that would've been bad.

In that case, I would have just restrained her until I seen the other girl approaching then they both would have had a bad day. But that's just me...... I'm nice like that.

I'd just stick my arm out and keep her at a distance. If course when someone is swinging wildly, you may to do a bit more. If her friend got a weapon though, specifically a sharp one, I'm grabbing a weapon. Ain't gonna potentially scar me up or take an eye

Let's be abundantly clear here, in a court of law there can be broad definitions of reasonable or excessive. I mentioned his size and strength as factors because I have seen those factors taken into account in other similar cases. I'm not going to argue those points with you because you are flat out wrong to assume his actions were legal. If we could read his arrest and conviction documents I'm willing to bet the prosecution stated exactly what I said. He has a criminal record now and a misdemeanor battery charge so if he tried to use self defense as a defense he and his lawyers failed to prove the elements, regardless of your opinion. SMH at laypeople trying to argue finer points of the law and giving BAD advice.

People will always have different views as to who was to blame for this altercation or whether "she got what she deserved for instigating", from a quick google search there have been no updates on any legal proceedings to date. What I would urge everyone here to keep in mind, especially Black men, is that the legal system is far from perfect and in some cases deeply flawed, some here were shocked when I said that based on the evidence and elements during his trial, that the scumbag George Zimmerman could very well walk.

The best way to protect yourself from this very imperfect system is to do all you can to avoid getting involved, and yes that will mean that you may very well have to walk away from situations where you were not the aggressor or was the one being attacked.

Yeah , that worked out for trayvon.

Not saying you shouldn't avoid confrontation and try your best to avoid it but remember TM tried to get away and then defend himself

The other thing is don't totally trust your attorney. If you get in any situation or just doing day to day businesses... Go to the law library to get familiar.

Travon was minding his own business when attcked by an armed assailant using deadly force. In that instance a person has FAR more legal protection to defend themselves by any means necessary. Not the same situation that we have been discussing in this thread.

I know he tried to avoid and in a way he was found guilty. Gz instigated a fight and got off. True it's different but there are similarities in what we are discussing. You should be held accountable for instigating a fight. Gz had a gun , he was older and bigger. He had every opportunity to remove himself from the situation just like dude. How did it turn out again? Oh he got off

If I'm walking down the street and 120lb Klanswoman calls me a nigger...keep it moving. No biggie . if she gets in my face walk around. But the minute she puts her hands on me then she has to pay the price or should.

The problem is we are allowing bad behavior from people who instigating shit. Why did that woman blow smoke in his face?

There's the law and then there's common sense

It's so frustrating watching people try to debate you on a law topic lol. I just wanna pop em in the back of their heads and tell them if they'd stfu for two seconds they might actually learn a thing it two! It's like patients reading web MD and then arguing with me about their actual diagnosis lol...lord give me patience lol!

GL who the fuck cares WHY someone does what they do?? Your only concern should be how you REACT and the ramifications of those reactions. Of course people should be held accountable for their actions, that goes without saying. We don't live in a perfect world though, especially for bm, so you running your mouth that anyone who puts their hands on you will "pay the price" is so frustrating because in this country, you'll most likely being the one passing the price. Would that be worth it?? Sure, maybe you got a punch in on the person being nasty to you, bit is that worth LOSING YOUR FREEDOM OVER? You've got to act smarter than that our your daughters going to lose her father one day over ego and pride.

What is funny about that. is you act as though people aren't allowed to have their opinion. This is especially true for doctors and lawyers.

The last thing doctors want is for people to question them . that's why they call doctors people with having the God complex. You shouldn't question them. They call medical "practice ".. Practice for a reason. Doctors aren't going to catch everything. They try this or that to see if it works. They look shit up. It's smart for a patient to educate themselves on their illness and not go blindly with the doctor.

That God complex you people in the medical profession have is why yalls professional liability insurance is so high cause y'all Jack shit due to negligence.

    You should know that.

The law care what people do....it's called motive. That's what lawyers get into. The why.

Look at Dylan roof. That the first thing they ask...why?

The common sense thing was for her was to leave dude alone.

Are you saying what she did was fine? No of course not.

I've always said leave people the fuck alone and no one gets hurt.

Again there's common sense and then there's the law

That is true. The sad reality is that the only time a black man can defend himself is against another black man. The law doesn't seem to care about black men getting hurt, so you should be ok to do that.

Be careful doing that, you might get knocked out in self defense.

Lol with people like GL out there, no doubt! Judging by his comments here, he's seriously itching to lay a chick out lol! I dare him to even try, there's a 6'5 400lb man behind me at all times ;) Thankfully for GLs sake, both my husband and myself are smart enough not to even involve ourselves with drama like that.

Well if you keep your hands to yourself then you wouldn't need a bodyguard huh?

It's obvious you love violence and inequality.

I said from the beginning you do dumb shit dumb shit will happen and equality is mofo. Lastly, BM need to control themselves.

You whole narrative has been "cause I'm a woman then I can hit a man and shouldn't get hit back"

That's Bs. You don't start shit then you will not get you dome split..

Looking at your posts you are that chick that needs a body guard.
