On November 30, 1994, Tupac Shakur was robbed and shot twice in the head, twice in the groin and once in the arm at a Manhattan recording studio. He would later blame Biggie Smalls and Sean "Puffy" Combs for orchestrating the shooting, setting off the whole East Coast-West Coast hip-hop feud that culminated in the murders of both Tupac and Biggie. Now a prison inmate in New York has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack. Dexter Isaac, a bad dude who's currently serving life in prison for shooting and robbing other people, released a statement to AllHipHop.com that says James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond, a fugitive from the law and Game's manager, paid him $2,500 to rob Tupac. In the statement, Isaac writes that he's coming forward now because (a) Rosemond, who Tupac also suspected of being involved in the shooting, has accused him of being a government informant and (b) because the statute of limitations on the 1994 shooting has expired. Also, he writes, he "would like to give their mothers some closure." Now that mystery surrounding the 1994 shooting, which proceeded Tupac's fatal shooting by two years, appears to be solved, maybe the truth about what happened to both Tupac and Big will finally come out. That's the hope at least, but we won't be holding our breath.
