Wonder if it would ease her pain if he moved in instead? :smt002

How in the heck is he hurting anyone by using a different way to get the house? It's obviously not an illegal method or he would have easily been denied the house or even arrested once cops arrived. Heck, it's not like he has moved in and brought 'pookie and the gang' with him. He seems like an easy going guy that wanted something more for himself and potentially has gotten it without having to sign his life away for the next 20 or 30+ years. I don't know much about real estate, maybe there is more to it like maybe the $16 he paid makes the other houses or the general community go down in value. Anyway, hope he's successful in his endeavors.

And whats interesting is, if a mortgage company showed up and found a loophole to get that house, nobody says shit.

That's true. We as Americans make good sheep. We'll get good and pissed off about banks and corporations taking stuff from us in shady or unconventional ways. But we act like crabs when we see a fellow American try to crawl up out of the pot of boiling water with a little creativity. I bet the complainers in the video would see things differently if it was them trying to use the same method to buy back their house. I'll admit, I hate to bring out the race/class card but it's moments like these that I wonder if he were white or a celebrity of some type that instead of getting greeted with cops he would instead be greeted with a friendly neighborhood BBQ.

I say if he was smart enough to know how to go about the whole thing, good for him. As for the neighbors, if he's not bothering them, they need to mind their own business & leave him alone. I've been wanting to move away from this piece of crap town, so maybe I can look around closer to the city & find myself an a nice abandoned home to claim for $16. ;)

awesome. the law gave him the right and thus he took advantage of it. they are upset that a "uneducated" man read the laws, understood it and worked it. If it was a suit then they wouldnt say shit about it. fuck em.

He's just following the law. :smt102

Why is that one lady so super annoyed??? If it sits empty deteriorating what is the difference than if he moves in his lazyboy and tv and lives, or the house is empty?? In this depressed market I am sure buyers aren't lined up.

Agreed. They're just upset that a working class man was able to acquire a nice place legally. They should be happy for him!

Sadly, this lady must be "The Nosy Bitch of the 'Burbs".

Exactly! If someone like that were to do that in my neighborhood, I'd welcome him with open arms and try to keep good relations with him. Everyone else need to grow up. That's like getting pissed off at someone for winning the lottery while homeless.

Be happy for them...but that's too much to ask. :smt093
