Can't blame him hope he wins. If they can't give a reason and quickly try to hush him up with a few hundred dollars they know they're wrong.
I really wonder what they were thinking, black man with a 9k check so it has to be something illegal? It's really not that much money and last time I checked criminals usually don't deposit money in a bank like that.

I hope that false imprisonment is one of the counts in his complaint.

The perils of banking while black.

Here's a story from a few years back that's even worse:

    http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wash...sted-check-fraud-chase-bank/story?id=14027856

This brother got arrested for trying to cash a check that was issued by Chase at a Chase branch. Apparently, it took the people at the bank who had him arrested a day to bother to verify that it was a real check.

This doesn't surprise me. I made a deposite of $986 dollars a couple of years back and you would have thought I slapped the teller. Smh.

That's because you're not suppose to be depositing any money when you get it. Shit is suppose to be spent on multiple pairs of Jordans or some spinning rims for your ride.....

If I am juror, you better believe I am giving a guilty plea. completely embarrassing for this guy.

This reminds me of the time I went to cash a student loan check at a bank(the community college had an account with the back). The check was for around $3.400.00. The teller looked at the check and asked if I had a credit card along with my driver license and social security card. I had to go back home to get the credit card. I came back with the card and the teller looked at it and finally gave me the cash. All this was a security measure for the bank. I didn't go to that bank again.

Ten thousand dollars is the maximum to put into an individual account. More than that, the depositor has to see someone in the accounts department. This guy was a thousand short of the maximum amount. I think he was screwed over by his bank. He will be paid back for all this. I hope he gets them good.

It's a civil action, so it's not about whether the defendants are "guilty" (that would be determined in a criminal action). It's about liability. As a juror, you would determine question(s) of fact in connection therewith. Regardless, if you were picked for jury duty during his trial, if either side's counsel felt you were biased more than the majority of other jurors, most likely you would not have the opportunity to be a juror during this trial. Generally, a juror who comes across right off the bat (during jury selection) as they strongly feel for or against either party gets the boot. You have lawyers on both sides that get to choose who gets booted off during jury selection, before the jury gets to hear the case and decide.

I probably wouldn't be kicked out off the bat because I would not even know about the case. It is hard to comment about something that you have no idea about. However, once chosen that's where I would be bias. I've been through the jury process. It isn't hard to get on. I find it more difficult to get off because I have to give them a reason without the judge catching on.

I think he should go after the bank. They violated his rights.

    Doesn't surprise me.

Exactly. First they harass us for not being productive citizens and lacking a work ethic, then they jail a guy who deposits a decent paycheck.

But also against the police for false imprisonment (and possibly against the bank too, idk).
