Saw a photo of Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen clinking glasses in a scene of Magic of Belle Isle. Is it IR or just a friendship flick?
Just watched the trailer, I could be wrong, but it looks like they neutered Morgan's character by putting him in a wheelchair, I can't find any mention of romance in this review, http://blogs.suntimes.com/demand/2012/06/the_magic_of_belle_isle_press_the_easy_button.html. Looks like the typical hollywood treatment of Black men in close proximity to attractive White women, find a way to keep the romance from happening by making him gay (numerous examples), physically unable (The Bone Collector), or some other way. Late breaking edit, I could be wrong, this review does mention the "possibility" of a love story between Freeman and Madsen, here's hoping they actually show some onscreen feeling and affection, and don't just hint at it. http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/movies/belle_peppered_with_sugar_qrzrdX7wx5hCEI2D7rzu1I?amp
Seems like they always make the token brother in a movie gay nowadays. Black men don't even get paired up with black women on screen anymore. Last few movies I've seen had black women paired up with non-black men in all of them when you almost never see the opposite. I'm done with Hollyweird.
The flick had not come to theater in my area. If Hollywood is not hooking brothers with sisters as well as WW then something is really wrong. Someone has got to bitch big.
Don't get your hopes up Tho, Virginia Madsen did kiss Courtney Vance in a movie (Ambushed)and Morgan kissed Renee Zellwegger in Nurse Betty.
