Yeah, that's what i always figured. And my internal response was "well, you could have always made the female white and kep the two guys as being black. That would solve the problem." :yawinkle:

But seriously if TPTB were so worried about too many black people then why not make Terry and the wife white? Oh, can't do that. That would mean a white woman had both a sexual and romantic relationship with a black guy and she would be pining for him somewhat even though she now has a suitable white male replacement as her new husband, blah, blah. So lets not upset anyone by instead making Terry white and keeping the wife black. Isn't that sooooooooo daring and progressive?

Those folks in Hollywood are scum.

Thank you, Mr Gaiman. Which reminds me I have to get around to reading that book. I purchased it a year ago.

    In all fairness....

1)They never blocked Glover's project since they never agreed to make it. Glover has been trying to finance it indepedently since the very beginning. That means there was never a guarantee it was going to be made.

2)All of the Hannibal movies stalled. That shit happens in Hollywood often.

3)The Will Smith was going to be a fucking disaster unless they worked extensively on story setup and script. I for one was happy it wasn't rushed. Only do it if it can be done right. It needs to be great not merely good.

I have doubts about Singleton making a good Luke Cage and the Black Panther movies. People favorite Actors help them to decide whether they are going to see a movie I'm different first I ask who is directing the movie. Directors skill determine whether or not a movie is going to be good or not. And John Singleton have no experience in fantasy or science fiction and action films. John has only been good at making hood movies. Blade was marvel first good movie adaptions from comic book. Blade was the launching pad for all of Marvels action hero movies. Stephen Norrington was the director of Blade his movie credits before Blade are The Crow he has done work with special effects on Aliens and he made scifi action movie Death Machine and other action films. John Singleton doesn't have that experience so I hope Luke Cage don't turn into another Spawn movie that would be very disappointing. :(

You must be joking to think that this average size brotha is believable
as Luke cage AKA powerman. [IMG]

The guys super power is Super strength. He is supposed to be a large black man. On top of that Terry Crew is about as good an actor as the other suggestions - certainly no worse than Morris Chestnut.. It's not like you would need Denzel to play a character like that.

You sound like one of the people who thought Halle Berre was a good cast for "Storm" in that fake looking platnium wig. Iman as she was in that Michael jackson video "Remember the time" fit the bill - Merrel Streep acting skills are not required.

    Woohooo, I took the quiz!
    You scored: 4 / 10
    You scored 60 points.
The average score for this quiz: 5 / 10

I've never read a comic book in my life and have no idea what any of you are talking about and have never heard of this Luke Cage dude, but I'm bored and saw a quiz while watching ya'll argue and took it.

I'm sorry this is the movies where actors are 40 feet high and a short Tom Cruise was the biggest movie star of the 80s and 90s. You're an idiot. I didn't think Halle was good for Storm either (Thandie Newton would have been my choice, Iman would have been TOO OLD for the part even 8 years ago when X-Men came out). Terry Crews is too damn ugly to be a leading man. Last I looked Cage is handsome. The super-powered Richard Roundtree not some thug. You need to stay out of grown folks conversations.

    lmao

on the tom cruise note, i never knew he was short until like the late 90s or something. His star was so bright and his movies were just so dope (top gun, interview with the vampire, mission impossible, the firm <---straight classic), you never really payed any attention to his height.

Handsome is one thing , pretty boy is another. Cage is a hard ass former harlem THUG, much closer to the rugged look Crews portrays- just my opinion.:smt021

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....

Luke Cage is Smoooooove, not some random street thug! In order for this movie to work, an unknown is needed for the role.

Alot of hardcore and casual Marvel fans took umbrage to a black fella being once again cast in the role of the archetypal Bad Guy.

At least that's what several ofmy m8's...of all races...told Yours Truly..:???:

Maybe if the identity was assumed by his buddy Sam Wilson .. that's The Falcon to YOU!

It doesn't have to be a unknown for the movie to work. Toby Maguire wasn't a unknown and spiderman turned out fine. Ironman with Robert Downey Jr. was a good film and Christian Bale and Heath Ledger was well established actors before and we all know The Dark Knight turned out to be a great movie. And lets not forget Wesley Snipes has Blade a very good and cool movie. The goal is to draw people to the movies now trying a new unknown actor has been done with white actors and audience. And yet this movie is about a black super hero it is better to pick a actor that everyone already knows especially with a white audience. Ive heard that Tyrese was in the talks for the part I'm not to happy about that and not to happy about John Singleton being the director either.
