That's a toughie. I really like Chris Rock. (I may have to watch 'Bring the Pain' tonight after thinking about how funny he is.) I just don't know if he would fit in with the styles of the other 'Kings' though. I haven't seen Katt Williams alot, but from what I've seen, I definitely think that he would be a good addition. The Eddie Murphy from his 'Raw' days would be good too. (I don't know what's happened to him. He's doing better in animation than stand-up these days. :( ) Chosen, there are just too many for me to pick one!!!! :p Who's your choice for the lineup??

A few more comedians that I like are Eddie Griffin, Rickey Smiley, Arnez J, Redbone, and Gary Owens. With the exception of Griffin, I've really on seen the others on Comicview, but they are really funny.

I think Bruce Bruce would fit in with the guys....Chris Rock is a toss-up but I think he fits better Eddie Murphy.

Murphy in his prime was the best of all the comics that got started after 1980. He could deliver jokes as well as anyone and his impersonations are among the best I've heard....but he doesn't joke as much about politics and race as Chris Rock....which is why........

Chris Rock would fit better. Chris Rock would take some of what D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer talk about and expand on it.

Murphy's been away from the stand-up game too long....he'd be a big draw but probably less than Chris Rock even though many people still think he's the best.

Katt Williams is a little younger than the guys (I think)...so he'd give them a different voice...his style would compliment them....almost like a Generation X/Y version of Bernie Mac in his uniqueness.

I definitely wouldn't have a problem with Bruce Bruce. He's a really funny guy too.

I agree with your commentary on the differences between Murphy and Rock. Rock definitely puts things out there that other comedians won't touch. I know that he takes a lot of heat for some of the racial and political things that he talks about, but it's funny and it does make you think. Murphy doesn't have the same edge that he once had. I think that it would be hard for him to do it now too. He doesn't seem like the same guy.

Now that we have that all straightened out, we just have to convince them to do a sequel. :D

I think you could convince them a lot easier than I could...

the funny thing about Bob Saget is that, he had such a family-vibe to him. Maybe that's because I used to watch him EVERY Friday on the TGIF program in the evenings. He was one of the stars of Full House, a very family oriented show. The first time I was surprised by him, was when I seen him in a movie and he was talking about "sucking d*ck for crack." I was like WTF, lol.

Sorry, I didn't specify but it was actual Chris Rock. I was still in comedian mode. lol I hadn't thought about The Rock in a while though (Do you smell what the Rock is cookin'???!!!! lol) That was fun!!!

Back to Chris Rock though...he was part of a PBS series that took AA celebrities and found their roots. He had early politicians in his blood line and he actually started tearing up when they told him, but he started making jokes. Oprah asked him why he made a joke and he said that was just his defense mechanism because he is such an insecure person. I know that comedy usually comes from pain, but I was surprised that he would refer to himself as insecure...you just don't view him that way. He said that if he had known that he came from intellectual people that he would have never gone into comedy. Oprah asked him what he would have done and he said 'something with intellect' and laughed. We would have missed out on a great one if he had done that. I just thought that it was really interesting. I didn't get to see the whole interview, but I wouldn't mind seeing the PBS dvd. It had several celebs on it.

Growing up, my girls and I used to talk about how BIG guy's brains were...the smarter the better. lol
