Co-sign Malik, if you hear her on Howard Stern, she comes right out and says that she was too fat and ugly to attract white guys so she "resorted" to dating black men. It is this kind of mentality that drives me nuts, we, black men, are not the last resort for the unwanted, unattractive, rejected, women of the world!
hey man, glad to be back!! lisa lamp is a comedienne, she says things for the jokes just like all the other great funny folks
Well, first step is to stop giving these types of women attention.Brothers need to stop gassing their heads and dating these fat, ugly, white women. Its simple,if we didnt accept them, then they wouldnt come to us in such large numbers. Thats why ill continue to say that alot of brothers need to up their standards.....waaaayyy up.
The interview I heard, she was NOT joking, she was speaking very matter of factly, and she mentioned with obvious pain in her voice that her family disapproved of her dating black men. Big, big respect to Malikom, co-siiiiiiiiign!
beauty is in the eye of the beholder because we are made to think for ourselves. The conception of beauty has been destroyed and used as a manipualtive tool by the media to shape beauty into one mold when in reality beauty comes in all molds. Free Minds think whatever they want ot think and closed minds think what they are told to think, because if heavier set women was face of beauty in the beginning of the media's manipulation then nobody wouldn't be having this conversation.
yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder--i see brothas with beautiful, slim, fit white women and brothas with ugly fat white women. I also see brothas with pretty, fat, white women and with ugly slim white women. i also see white women with some jacked up brothas, fat brothas, etc. so to each his and her own.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. true... but she's pretty much giving black brothas a 2nd-class ranking... if you don't see that as an insult................
I co-sign!!!!!!!!! Maybe "large" ww come to black men for the same reason that black men appreciate "large" bw. Because one thing thing that we as black people are known to be and thats independent thinkers. We dont follow and/or accepts others standards and rules. Loki, LMChris, and malikom (im supprised your still here after the way lipstick - a ww well beyond a size 6 - embarrassed you), stop living by this superfical ruler of having to drive the right car, live in the right neigborhood, have the right job, and date/marry the right woman to be considered a playa who's stepped his game up. (You guy's still living by "the man's" rules to get ahead. Thats so conservative of you.) White guys would classify 90% of sistas as fat or ugly because they dont fit their (white men) standard of beautiful. And if you go by 's reasoning, any woman who's dress size is double digits is ugly. And as out-of-line as this may be Im going to use Superchic and Pinnacle's lady as examples. Its obvious that neither woman is a size 4, but anyone who looks at their pics and doesnt admit that they are fine, sexy, beautiful, gorgeous, white women is a fool, idiot, and an ass. So tell me malikom, chris, and loki, at what point does a woman go from fine, beautiful, gorgeous, and sexy to fat and ugly? Or should all black men who arent sure about the attractiveness of their lady check with you to get your stamps of approval? I'll tell you what, post a pic of you and your lady and let us see just how good your taste and judgement is? (Sound familar, malikom?) If you and your lady pass mustard then we will let you guys have final say on all dating matters regarding black men worldwide. So please hurry and post those pics. The entire dating future of black men is in your hands. Dont let us down. And please...no fake pics. I know tyson beckford and danica patrick when I see them... *Please accept my apology, s-chic and pinnacle, for using you as examples.*
Maybe "large" ww come to black men for the same reason that black men appreciate "large" bw. Because one thing thing that we as black people are known to be and thats independent thinkers. We dont follow and/or accepts others standards and rules. I would agree that historically speaking Black people have had to be independent thinkers. I would disagree that all black men appreciate large black women, and given the high rates of diabetes, and heart disease and a whole host of other weight related ailments that we as black people face, perpetuating that myth is not a responsible thing to do. Thats so conservative of you.) Jelly, what is superficial about striving for success in every aspect of your life? Is it superficial that I sit on the board of the Urban League, that I volunteer teach golf every other Saturday to underprivledged kids, as well as numerous other political and charitable activities? Or could it be very important for the youth, especially poor youth, as well as others to see and interact with black men who are successful on many levels as role models? You have to have (money, time, energy, ect.) in order to give to others. White guys would classify 90% of sistas as fat or ugly because they dont fit their (white men) standard of beautiful. Jelly, according to the CDC between 70 - 80% of black women and a substantial majority of all women are either obese and/or overweight. Some of the most educated and accomplished medical professionals in the world link these facts to massive increases in health and insurance costs that are carried by us all, making this a issue for us all not just a personal one. That is the point I am making in my previous posts, I have never commented on anyone who posts here significant other, if they are happy I say good for them So tell me malikom, chris, and loki, at what point does a woman go from fine, beautiful, gorgeous, and sexy to fat and ugly? Or should all black men who arent sure about the attractiveness of their lady check with you to get your stamps of approval? Now now Jelly, I never said that I am or should be the final arbitor of who is attractive and who is not. I don't find big girls attractive, that is my preference, but I feel no compulsion to tell others how to live or who they should find attractive. The point I was making, and I would like you to address, is that you often see portrayals in the media as well as real life of women turning to black men after being rejected by others (as per my post on Lisa Lampenelli), further perpetuating the myth that black men are so desperate to be with white women, they will take ANY white woman or are so driven by sexual desires that they will take any woman with a pulse. I'll tell you what, post a pic of you and your lady and let us see just how good your taste and judgement is? (Sound familar, malikom?) If you and your lady pass mustard then we will let you guys have final say on all dating matters regarding black men worldwide. Hmm, yes I am sure you would be very objective given the tone of your post. I can assure you my wife, even after 17 years of marriage and two kids still gets PLENTY of attention from men when she walks down the street. Bottom line, I strive against any stereotype that makes us as black people, especialy black men, look bad, and such stereotypes are legion. I have no agenda against big girls as I do recognize that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder, but I must admit that I do resent having to foot the bill for the irresponsible choices that others make in their lives, and this does not apply just to weight issues, for example, here in arizona we pay higher than average vehicle insurance rates because we don't have a helmet law for motorcylces here, which scares off many insurance companies. Just one of many examples I could give as I am very involved in politics.

I didnt say "all." And their are a lot of people who are not a size 4 or 6 who would be considered fat. And to perpetuate that myth in this age of bulimia, anorexia nervosa, and distorted images of women, and to sit and judge women and the men who date those women is insulting and reckless. You have to have (money, time, energy, ect.) in order to give to others. If your teaching these kids that success means having doctors as neighors instead of a mailman, driving a 7 instead of a chevy, and your showing off your wardrobe and telling them that being successful means being white collar, do me a favor...PLEASE STOP! We (black people) dont need "successful" people coming "back to the hood" instilling such superficial values in kids. What is needed quite simply is positive role models who imphasize education and values...period. Now if these kids choose a white collar or blue collar job or even a career in military, as long as they are happy, productive, and positive, who can argue with that. White guys would classify 90% of sistas as fat or ugly because they dont fit their (white men) standard of beautiful. That is the point I am making in my previous posts, I have never commented on anyone who posts here significant other, if they are happy I say good for them Lies, damn lies, and statistics. And as far as someone's sig. other, anytime you co-sign malikom, your treading on "dumb" ice. Whose to say that a woman is "unwanted," "unattractive," and/or a "reject" as you said earlier in this thread. Heidi Klum's first baby daddy didnt want her, but I dont see anyone criticizing Seal. Regardless of what caused Lisa L. to start dating brothas, as long as she's happy and the dude's happy, the rest doesnt matter. But the consensus is that she's fat and ugly, so its a stain on black men, when in fact no here or anywhere has the right to call someone ugly, fat, unwanted, BOTB, or any number of derogatory terms. So tell me malikom, chris, and loki, at what point does a woman go from fine, beautiful, gorgeous, and sexy to fat and ugly? Or should all black men who arent sure about the attractiveness of their lady check with you to get your stamps of approval? Or maybe black men are not as judgemental as white men or the rest of society. I see your point (which really isnt a point) but my point is that who give a rat's ass about the media's portrayal. The media also portrays black people as animals who dont know how to act, but thats for another time. I'll tell you what, post a pic of you and your lady and let us see just how good your taste and judgement is? (Sound familar, malikom?) And you resent footing the bill for the irresponsible? Do you know what thats called...LIFE! But who black men choose to date isnt on your tab. And your high car insurance has nothing to do with a motorcycle helment law. Thats just a ruse for the insurance company to raise your rates and make an even larger profit. Let me ask you, have you seen or heard of any "big" insurance companies going "belly-up" or are they still making money hand-over-fist like they have for the last couple decades? Instead of making dozens caveman and CGI-filled commercials and buying countless millions on super-exspensive tv air time, they should cut a brother a break on his rates so I dont have to foot the bill for the irresponsible? (Talk about cries falling on deaf, money-stuffed ears...)
I didnt say "all." And their are a lot of people who are not a size 4 or 6 who would be considered fat. And to perpetuate that myth in this age of bulimia, anorexia nervosa, and distorted images of women, and to sit and judge women and the men who date those women is insulting and reckless. I have posted before that some of the most unhealthy women I have met have been thin (smokers, ect.) There are dangerous images at both extremes which is all the more reason why we need positive role models. If your teaching these kids that success means having doctors as neighors instead of a mailman, driving a 7 instead of a chevy, and your showing off your wardrobe and telling them that being successful means being white collar, do me a favor...PLEASE STOP! Now if these kids choose a white collar or blue collar job or even a career in military, as long as they are happy, productive, and positive, who can argue with that. Jelly, if you recall I once recomended that you read a book called Rich Dad Poor Dad. One of my biggest concerns for society as a whole, and especially black people is the obsession with "conspicuous consumption". Or in other words, the big hat, no cattle mentality. My MBA is in finance and I do a great deal of teaching on how to be fiscally responsible and literate, building legacy wealth is crucial for any group of people to not only survive, but thrive. I would agree that money is not the most important thing in the world, however it does have a direct impact all all the things that are most important in life; health, faith, education, quality of life, safety, travel to be exposed to different cultures and peoples, ect. The net worth of the top 120 thousand people in this country is greater than the net worth of the bottom 180 MILLION, the gap between the haves and the have nots is big and growing, and this has numerous powerful consequenses. Lies, damn lies, and statistics. But the consensus is that she's fat and ugly, so its a stain on black men, when in fact no here or anywhere has the right to call someone ugly, fat, unwanted, BOTB, or any number of derogatory terms. Yes Jelly, we can debate statistics all day long. I actually took Malikom to task for commenting on significant others, not cool in my book. Once again, the post I made on Lisa Lampenelli, was pointing out that SHE said those things about HERSELF, and because she felt that way about herself she thought black men were her only option. Now if that was only her thoughts, so be it, however she was talking on a national radio show and perpetuating that negative stereotype about black men, I will always fight against such stereotypes. Or maybe black men are not as judgemental as white men or the rest of society. I see your point (which really isnt a point) but my point is that who give a rat's ass about the media's portrayal. The media also portrays black people as animals who dont know how to act, but thats for another time. I would agree that we as black men face numerous negative portrayals, a great read is Dr. Hutchinson's book "The assassination of the Black Male Image". I am not so sure that black men are any less judgemental than any other group of men, but I do believe we must fight any and all negative portrayals when they arise. Why should you care how much attention your wife gets when she walks down the street? And you resent footing the bill for the irresponsible? Do you know what thats called...LIFE! But who black men choose to date isnt on your tab. The attention my wife gets is just a fact, not that I care one way or another, you were questioning my choice of a mate in terms of attractiveness so I was answering that. We will certainly have to disagree with being REQUIRED to foot the bill for irresponsible others, read the book "Atlas Shrugged" sometime, I believe you may enjoy it. As far as who dates who, I could care less, but when it comes to stereotypes, stereotypes that make all of our lives as black men HARDER, I will always speak out. (Talk about cries falling on deaf, money-stuffed ears...) Ah, we could talk all day about corporate greed. Actually, insurance companies have in fact gone bankrupt, many were underwriting the mortgage backed securities market that has melted down. While it is true that corporations will use any data point, real or imagined, to try to justify increased rates (see oil companies) the fact remains that in my example I believe most people would agree that riding a motorcycle without a helmet is reckless and dagerous, and that creates an opening for insurance companies to seize upon as justification for raising rates here in Az, and those of us who are more responsible must foot that bill. Jelly it seems that we will have to agree to disagree on some items, however I do enjoy debating with you as you certainly seem to be someone who is passionate in his beliefs and can employ logic and reason.
