Love at first sight..

You hear a lot people saying it was love at first sight. Is it possible to love someone at first sight, or is it always lust. You hear of elderly men going to Thailand and meeting young Thai girls and proposing within days of meeting them…and them accepting. Anyone believe in love at first sight?

 

I believe in an instant feeling you get. Whether or not that feeling is love...one will find out with time.

 

I think that the bolded type above is lust for the elderly men and a business deal for the young Thai girls. Just my opinion and certainly not written in stone nor necessarily correct.

I do believe in it. You know, some people just give you the instant feeling that you want to be with them, talk to them and have them close, and in my case: protect them from everything bad.

I believe in love at first site - well or maybe very quickly. I don't know that I consider the type of situation the OP is talking about to be that though.

Seems to me that most who have experienced it know that something really connected between them but they may not really acknowledge how strong the feelings were until later looking back.

 

There can certainly be very strong feeling right away, maybe just with a look, but, I think it's chemistry and can become love. But I believe love is a commitment and a choice, not something we have no control over.

That sounds like pedophilia looking to cover it's self by becoming legally married. Love at first sight, hmmm. How about infatuation at first sight. Love is about unconditionality, love is about truth. Would you continue to love this person if they told you they had AIDS or maybe she was a queen of the night paying for school. Maybe you found out they were a pathological liar, would you still love them? The thing is, are you really in love with someone or are you in love with the fact that they make you feel a certain way.

 

Yep love at first sight is possible, ive felt it once, never again since!.

Seriously, when I read the first mail hb wrote me (I met him online) I just somehow knew he would be the man for me! I fell in love instantly, and I hadn't even seen his picture.

However, I also believe it's possible for a relationship to grow into love over time.

Still, I think love at first sight, first e-mail, first whatever def can exist, some people you are just intensly connected to. For some reason. And I refuse to believe that it isn't scientifically explainable. ^^
