Yeah, gotta agree with the difference between these two and kirsty and her man. 16 is a child, she should still be in high school, 20 is an adult.

But, yeah a lot of teenagers don't look like teenagers. There's a 17yr old in the course I'm doing who I swore was around 23 (because of her looks and the way she acts) and I find out she's not even legal age(18, in Aus.) yet. LOL Yet another 17yr old in my class acts like a 13yr old, so it can go both ways I guess.

There is no difference between 16 and 20 in my opinion. Both are still children to me especially by the way they are treated in society. The only difference is one can vote and join the army while the other can't.

I still wouldn't say normal. The young age for marriage was a direct result of lifespan and child rearing necessity. People didn't live as long- if you made it to 40 it was a miracle most of the time. For them, getting married at even 12 or 13 wasn't uncommon.

However, as society has evolved and people start to live longer lives (can you even imagine being considered a senior citizen at 30?!), we've realized that 12 and 13 year old girls are not really fit for marriage. I can't imagine how her parents condoned it, honestly. If I was a parent, I wouldn't let my kid out of the house in half the things that are in style right now, much less allow her to get MARRIED to a 51 year old....and I used to date men considerably older than I am (think 22 and 36, 23 and 50, etc.).

Good Goddess, I'm getting all verklempt just thinking about it.

I agree with you 100%. Yes as time evolved and our means of longevity increased, 12 and 13 years of age just is way too young to be consider marriage material. Hell, whenever I'm around them, I can still smell the pacifier coming from their epidermal regions.

And regarding the bit of the age range of men you've dated, answer two things:

1. Did the oldest person you've dated had a penis that resembled a prune or wrinkled egg?

2. How old were you when you first started dated men over the age of 18?

20 IS NOT EQUAL 16, one is in HS the other one is in the middle of college. In fact if she is very smart, she might even be a college grad at that stage. Folks who get their jollies off with a child under 18 let alone marry them make me sick and yes they're pedophiles. I'm totally convinced she's lying about her age, there is NO WAY she's 16, she looks more like 27, it's insane.
