the point that i grew up....
it started when my parents were not home and i was in charge of looking after my two younger brothers...i was 7 or 8 years of age.
when my parents sat me down when i was 15 and told me and not my brothers that they were breaking up, then stayed together for an additional 3 months and had me witness the marriage fall apart again...then dragged me through the hell that was the separation and divorce.
getting my first full-time job at 17 so i could move out on my own...then moving out on my own.
ultimately, becoming a mother and realising that nothing before the birth of my children and nothing after could ever be more important than that moment in my life. for the rest of my life i will be responsible for the wellbeing of 2 lives that are not my own. i would die for my children, and i think even kill if it came to that. i remember when i looked into my sons eyes just after he was born and was put in my arms. i was so scared because i realised from that point on i was responsible for this little person. i was going to be his love, security, protection, support, provider...his world, and i would have to put his needs before my own...become selfless. if that doesn't make you grow up, i honestly don't know what will.
