http://hater site.com/125751/loreal-we-dont-want-black-women-selling-our-cosmetics/ I haven't ventured over to timesonline to check the story out, but that sounds terrible. I thought we were over institutionalized racism... I guess just not in France. Think I'll be steering clear of any of their products, for shunning women of color (which usually affects men of color) that way.
They're messing up their business, too.By being so racist they are losing many potential customers because black women use make-up too but may not want to buy cosmetic articles by such a racist enterprise. In the "beauty" world whether it's modelling, cosmetics or what not they should know beauty doesn't know color.
Actually I think L'Oreal made the right decision thanks for pointing me in the direction of this article...
What??!! Loreal has a huge share of this market........they have alot of brands under their parent name. You would be surprised at what you use of theirs.
Well since l`oreal is not realy organic, and since the body shop is just pretending that it is natural...... It is a very long time ago I was buying thier products....
IYou know, Tford - with all due respect - I would never, ever want to date a BM that had this attitude towards BW as a whole - and I think the majority of the women here agree.. I absolutely see no flattery towards WW in your statement at all. Its just putting down women, period. But carry on....
Fuck that shampoo. I remember seeing those commericals back in the day for the kid's shampoo. Those little bastards smiling, and dancing, and jumping around, with their "No tears" bullshit. I always wanted to kick their asses. Damn, it's Tommy Hillfiger all over again.
and I think you deserve rep for posting that.. I never buy their stuff again - geezzz, what century is this??
I remember that shit mayne They said the man was a straight racist, and people still rocked his gear.. lmao.. don't see too many guys rockin that on the east coast now.... dudes rockin Gucci, Coogi, and Roca-Wear joints dont forget them Nike Air Ones
On the west, kids are on thta colorful shit. Mainly bay area kids. They fuck with shit like Akademiks, or however it's spelled. I'm so out of touch with hip-hop clothing. I only rock Dickies, and Adidas, and other sports shit. Forces were HUGE back in 03. Hell, even I wanted a pair back in 8th grade.
Hillfiger was an urban legend, and if you're old enough they said the same thing about Girbaud. Loreal's always been evil, I remember being a kid reading about the LD50 test and what they used to do to bunnies.
THe mom of my childhood best friend used to work for L'Oreal. She'd be having a fit if she knew this thread existed.:smt043 Her daughters couldn't buy any make-up unless it was L'Oreal's.
l'oreal has a very extensive umbrella of products...hair color...professional hair care...drugstore haircare...mass cosmetics (drugstore)...let's not forget lancome...yes. lancome falls under the l'oreal umbrella as well...it is a prestige brand vs. drugstore brand...this may have happened in france under one product label but i will tell you that in the states in most major cities you will find black women working for lancome...drug store brands like l'oreal do not normally employ sales people other than a planogram setting staff that jump from store to store to reset products... playing devil's advocate here...brands like fashion fair and iman do not employ caucasion women because they do not make foundation for caucasion women simple as that...in the cosmetic industry you hire people that profile your brand...someone that can relate to your target customer... just a little information
I am not very keen on hater site being used as a "real" source of news, so I found this from the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...825/LOreal-fined-for-race-discrimination.html I think it's interesting there was more of an outrage as concerns the racial part of it, and not the fact that they were also discriminating based upon age (18-22) and size (U.S. 4-10). I'm sure several people here would find that kind of superficial discrimination acceptable and justify that, "it's just the standard of beauty that's expected in that industry" whilst crying murder when the same industry has consistently shown favoritism for white female beauty over non-white females.
