my mom used to have one..it was her first car, as a matter of fact... the kind i used to like had the sporty spoiler on the back of it... as for the games... some of them are the next best thing, to actually test driving your dream car as for the older cars.. the upkeep would be murder, because their parts are probably in short order... I would have to learn how to keep up cars, like the dude from "Supernatural," who still has one of the old Impalas.
that impala on supernatural is a beautiful piece of machinery. the upkeep on older cars is killer though. my dad and my brother bought a 1970 buick skylark - it's hott, but needs work. they've poured lots of money and work into it, but it's still got a long way to go. isn't there a new granTurismo coming out?
prologue is out already... it's like a mini version of the game, which is due out "when it's done." Gran Tourismo (turismo?)mixes graphics with high-fidelity car models, which is why so many people look forward to new releases. The cars handle like they would in real life, and there are plenty of sparkling things to gawk at. As for maintaining the cars.... that reminds me of some older planes in the military, that I love to fly in simulators, or watch in movies. Most notably the F14 Tomcat, the bird of prey featured in one of my favorite movies "Top Gun." The plane was so old and expensive to maintain, that the navy tossed it out for F18s. Such a sexy rocket ride kicked out, just like that. that's the thing tho... the older things get, the more it costs to maintain them  tell me you've seen something more sexier than that ride
those F18s are about the most incredible things to see, also that Carrier is nice too. I loved the F4 phantom also since childhood, living on Naval bases
i would have loved to be stationed on a carrier, working around the flight deck. Just to see the planes take off and land. shit..if i had money ( ), i would have went to Fleet Week up in New York. I think they give tours for different ships during this time of the year, around memorial day. I would be content with just looking at the planes on deck.
petty, the f-18s are nice, but b/c my husband was in the air force...i'm partial to the f-15s and the f-22s. he worked on both when he was in...nothing beats feeling the rumble of those things takin off. i love it!! and just a side note, his squadron flew the 22s at the beginning of the 2006 superbowl. it was freakin' awesome! F-15 F-22 (my favorite)
speaking of planes.. i know they used to have an airshow, not too far from philly.. i need to hit them up..see where my tax money is going to "you don't own that plane! the taxpayers do!" i'm still disappointed about the f14s tho.. i know they're older planes, that are much bigger and less swing-role capable than f18s..but damn they're pretty like an old shelby
man, i haven't been to an airshow in years. i stick with car shows mainly...but maybe i should google air shows in fl. hmmmm..... 8)
i would think that pensacola would have an airshow... if anywhere shit..i would love to have seen jets flying around for fleet week..if they did that, with all the ships in port as for carshows..i never been to any

petty, i lived on Naval Air Station Pensacola Florida as a child(my dad was an officer on the USS Lexington CVT 16). So we had awesome air shows because it is the home of the Blue Angels! i loved visiting my dad aboard ship and i have pictures of the best times in my life living on base. i am a broad Navy Brat and supporter of the Armed Forces and love every aspect of it.
yeah, pensacola probably does have airshows. i know when my husband was at tyndall in panama city, they had a couple. i've been to tons of car shows...some small and local, but we went to big one in tampa back in november. it was some international one that was traveling the country. it was pretty hott - they had every car you can imagine...new, old...and you gotta love the concept cars.
i only sat in a couple of the cars...i was kind of shy about it. my husband on the other hand was like a kid in a candy shop...he was sitting in everything that had a seat, lol.
One of the benefits of living in the palm beach area is that you see lambos, ferraris, aston martins, and various other six-figure rides on a daily basis. Petty, I dont know what size you are, but unless your well under 6' or the ferrari is a convertible, its gonna be a very tight fit. I stood next to a 360 modena and it barely came to my waist...damn even trying to get into it.
jelly, seeing the sexy cars is definitely a perk of south florida...might even be a perk of florida, period. there are some decent ones up this way too - not like in your neck of the woods, but still. and you're right...height + sports cars usually equals incompatibility. sux, dude! but a girl can still dream, right?
Yeah, talk about your dream garage. A 360, infinti i30, honda accord, and the coup-de-gras...a chevy station wagon.
lol ya'll crazy station wagon has been holdin it down, for the fo-pound for a while  as for the Ferrari...damn... I remember seeing Shaq Daddy riding in one of his cars, with his head sticking out the sunroof, because he is that damn tall.. I'm 6'2 on the button...and I wear a 14 sneaker...Don't know how I would work that out...I have enough trouble with gas pedals and cramped rides already, lol
