The big C is no joke. It was very scary when my Pops had it. He knew he'd get Cancer too cause of his father (and his mother died of Breast Cancer). I've also had some other relatives who aren't in the same lineage die of Cancer too. I pay attention to those in the same string of blood cause I've always felt I'd get it too, especially cause I take after my father a lot (although Moms side has Cancer too).

It really is facinating, despite being deplorable and sad at the same time. I always wonder what makes people like that get so far off track? With rapists it appears some are born with faulty wiring, and some develop into rapists based up what they encounter in their lives. The one thing that appears to be relatively consistent is that they are one of the most incurable offenders, along with pedophiles. The recidivism rate on sex crimes is astounding, they really are not the types to benefit from rehabilitation. So however they come to be a rapist, it appears once they cross that line it's really difficult to go back.

 

What is that saying? "Absolute powers corrupts absolutely".

That's a really good thought Bookie! I would never have come up with that and tied it into this discussion, but I think you're onto something. I think maybe once you become so depraved that you crave seeing fear and pain in someone's eyes, and you need that to get off, you can't function without it.

IMO addiction is something the body or mind craves, that isn't a biological need, so I suppose the desire to rape women could be considered a type of addiction. Again I wouldn't typically think of it like that, perhaps because it has its own separate classification as a crime.
