Life is pointless and stupid.

Everything you do is for nothing. Nothing lasts, nothing stays the same. When you love someone, you'll always lose them eventually. People change, feelings change, everything changes and ends. People die, no one is promised tomorrow or even the next minute. When you make money, you'll always lose it eventually, whether you lose it or spend it or it gets stolen or the source of it is lost or changes. When you die you can't take anything with you and everyone and everything dies and ends and nothing lasts. How you affected others lives won't matter either because theirs will end too. Everyone will eventually be forgotten like we never existed in the first place. It's all just stupid.

I have an occasional crises in faith. I am trying to keep my head up. I am currently unemployed. I want to work and make my own money. But, I ended up sick and was laid up for a while due to blood clots on my left lung. I am on blood thinners right now. I am going to have a colonoscopy this Friday. I had been raised a Christian , however, I am trying to be more open-minded in terms of solutions. I had looked into Buddhism, New Ageism and other things. Now I just rely on what I had learned from my life and the rules about harming no one. I almost committed suicide. I have recurring dreams about fighting a faceless man. I even had a dream about threatening to kill someone. No matter how bad things are in life you must try to hold on a little longer. You are not a bad person. You are not a worthless person. You are a survivor. Stay motivated and strong.

Completely disagree. I'm sorry you're upset though. I hope things get better for you. My life isn't all peaches either, but I think we have to focus on the positive in life...and there are always many positives. Venting is great therapy and I would never deny anyone that, but recoginising the good is even better.

Life isn't always a bed of roses dear. I've been through ups and downs and got out of them. I still have things that I could have done better.

If life is pointless then I will live it to the fullest and fulfill what I want while I'm on this Earth. You should do the same.

Because it's the truth and we all know it on some level that life is stupid and absent of any profound meaning. We just continue making the gestures commanded by existence for many reasons, the first of which is habit.

I looked into Buddhism myself, well I still am. Because it teaches the universality of impermanence and that life is suffering (so it made sense to me). The nature of suffering and freedom therefrom. That nothing is eternal but change etc. "To try to hang on to life is to get hung up; a real hang-up." But old habits die hard.

Focusing on the positive in life is pointless because it's always going to end and just make you suffer negatively when it does. It's a meaningless cycle and there is no point to it at all.

If life is pointless then so is living it to the fullest. Fulfilling what you want while you're on this Earth is pointless because you're never going to be able to do that. You're always going to want more. How many things do you have now that at one point you thought would change your life and make everything better, and now that you have them, they don't mean shit and you're onto the next thing? Exactly.

We create our own meaning and if we have that during life it really doesn't matter what happens after.
That's actually the cool thing about being human. We can create our meaning, our own destiny.

What meaning can we create if we know there isn't one?

But that is the beauty of it my e-adopted daughter. That we know the futility of life and we enjoy it and hate it and make the best of it as we trudge along towards death. It can happen at any moment. And we still as a general thing, love, laugh, cry and hurt. Sometimes, the most beautiful things are find in bleak moments. Humans will try to take everything from us, including ourselves, and sometimes that makes us understand the beauty even more. I'm not gonna go all dalai llama on you, but as someone that has experienced more shit than most and did recently went through a very rough depression, I still find beauty that takes my breath away in the simplest things. But it takes work and I refuse to give in.
One thing I have learned is to not give my power to someone that done you wrong, they don't care. Prove them wrong. You know where to find me girl. You have my ear, and more.

Life is not pointless. Looking at the positives is not pointless. None of this is pointless. My life, despite all the bad in it at the moment, is not pointless. I take great offense at someone saying it is. Life is a wonderful thing. There is so much beauty and love in the world, no matter how terrible you feel, it's true.

I'm sorry you feel this way, but your view is clouded by whatever you're going through right now. I hope you get through it, whatever it is, and that you can see the beauty in life again very soon.

Minus the last sentence, everything you've written is the cold truth from an objective, grounded-to-existence nihilistic standpoint. Life bears no purpose or meaning. It's really the subjective nature of humans to give themselves a will to live in this nihilistic world.

However, it doesn't mean that all has to end in nothingness unless you have no means to live. It's all about personal experience and depending on how you live, the meaningless life can build some life for you, the individual. But I do know one thing for sure: if you feel life is meaningless, you wouldn't be alive today typing this up...so, what are you clinging to ultimately?

Everything that you say here is true... but, I think we're supposed to tell you that it's not.

So, even though it is.,. it's not.

You can be a nihilist then if you really belief that it will make you feel better. Might as well enjoy what I have on this earth. Life may be meaningless but it is a GIFT to be fortunate to enjoy the good and even bad things in life.

A truth but not the truth
I dont know what lies beyond this life nor the impact of our little lives but ultimately if it matters to us why does it need to matter to other?
There are some relationships that dont change and if they do it can be for the better. Its not all doom and gloom.

No, it's 'the' truth. It's not pessimism, it's reality.
