I'm beginning to think the only solution to racial problems around the world is to eliminate race entirely by more blending.

 

It just seems like in the land of immigrants we are the only ones who refuse to unite under any circumstances. I don't see the Asians the Arabs Indians or Europeans robbing and killing each other the way blacks do. Look up how often the black dollar flips in a black neighborhood before being spent else where in comparison to the other races. Its down right sad and I have no clue why we hate each other so much

True FHerto. In the places those races lived they find a excuse to eliminate the other racially,religiously,etc. It is not going away. The major powers like the US,EU etc just exploit the resources of Africa,the Chinese build the roads,bridges etc to make exploitation more easier for them. They are not doing it because they love the continent. Unless other Africans complain of the cleansing in Libya they will get away with when this "revolution" ends.

 

That is definitely true. It is still a feeling of superiority on the part of the Saudis. It is not the same as the racism we have seen in the West, but it is still racism. Neither is pretty. I was not saying that Arabs do not treat others badly. My point was that blacks are treated badly. Many black converts to Islam are hurt when they see this is the case. Many of them expect some racial utopia. That is FAR from the case - no matter what Muslim apologists may tell us to the contrary. There is one group that DOES get good treatment from them: whites/Europeans.

I should also mention that many Arab Muslims (and even some non-Arab Muslims) believe that the Arab race is superior. That is a reason for much of the Arab chauvinism as well. See the link below:

By our standards here in the US, you are correct. But they do not consider themselves to be black. I met some black Kuwaitis and they denied vehemently that they were "black". Much in the same way (what we would call black) Latinos would deny being black.

The word "Mamluk" is also used (literally "property"). In my own experience, the term "Mamluk" is applied to white/European slaves. The Mamuks -who were from the Caucus region had an entire empire at one time.

That is true. But when you are being singled out to be killed for being black, or you are facing racism, that is a distinction without much of a difference. No matter how 'nuanced', it is still ugly nonetheless.

Initially, I thought that you were arguing that the Arab countries were models of racial harmony as I've seen some do (usually Muslim apologists). However, I understand your point better now

 

About a year back me and my best friend (white guy) went to our buddy's place (who is Arab) for a graduation party he was throwing since he had just graduated med school. I figured it would be like just a few of his buddies, but when I got there it looked like friends, relatives, family relations, friends of family etc 98% who were Egyptians. Must have been a between 100 - 200 people in the back yard.

Now I was already uncomfortable because despite being friends with our Arab buddy and a couple of others, I really don't know them as well as my best friend. And I'm the ONLY Black guy here. And I know what Arabs think about Blacks. So I only stayed for about 8 minutes, said I might be back and bailed on that situation. I know it looked bad but I was half expecting someone to ask me to leave.

I just don't feel comfortable around Arabs. Actually I just don't feel comfortable around groups that can't stand blacks. Which is most of them anyway.

Libya was once a majority black province. In the north there were the Berber speaking Levanthes (Luwata) who defeated the Byzantine on several occasions and to the south in the Fezzan were the Garamantes (Tebu) who built perhaps the most extensive irrigation system on the continent.

The favoritism crept in only gradually and interestingly enough via black rulers and military men who would rather deal with foreigners than trust their own countrymen. This happened with the Abbasids, Fatimids, Almoravids and Indians.
