Larry Elder

Before i begin, i want to express my apology for posting this here when it rightfully belongs in the "Politics" forum. I only did so because i felt it stood a better chance of being noticed let alone being read.

Anyways, i was reading a few things about the rather known conservative politician from South Central Los Angeles called Larry Elder and i have come up with two words to describe his state; FALSE CONSCIOUNESS. Now this is a tag which is often heralded towards black conservatives, sometimes ill-fatedly, but his is a case which is justified. Some of the things he says and thinks completely leave me in awe. Now i respect some of the things he has done in his life like struggling from being a poor man from the South to being a wealthy American but i wonder what his experiences have been like in his lifespan. I question his sanity to be very honest.

Now this might come as a shock to some of you as i have often stated that i am a conservative, a moderate conservative to be exact, but this guy is one of the reasons why black conservatives never get a good rap. He actually had the balls to defend William Bennett's morally reprehensible and hideously naive comments about crime and race. He believes that racism is an issue of the pact and there is no such thing as that today. To fully understand why i am dismayed at this guy, read more about him and you'd see why. He is an utter dummy in my opinion whose words should never be taken to heart. He ranks nowhere near REAL black conservatives like Thomas Sowell, Armstrong Williams, Alan Keyes and Jesse Lee Peterson.

The main point of this thread was to find out the opinions of the rest of you about this irreftuably absense-minded slug. I cannot but laugh at some of the things he says. Now he is one person who actually deserves the title of "Uncle Tom". :lol:

Yeah, I gotta agree with "bmanz." I used to watch Larry's talk show a few years back and always liked how he'd tackle those social issues nobody else other than Springer would want to put on TV. Don't get me wrong. I disagree with him on the notion that racism is largely perception in this country by blacks, but I do agree that we should do more in terms of personal responsibility so that is doesn't always come to racism between blacks and white.

 

Cris I know Armstrong Williams and he thinks the same way,He told me that there is no racism in America. :shock:

 

That is true and i did acknowledge at the beginning of this post that i liked some of the things he talks about.

That is very true as i equally believe in personal responsibility rather than blame but he actually thinks there is no racism in America? :shock: And he has the nerve to defend racists and their practices.

 

I never pay any attention to the likes of someone such as Elder. In my eyes, he's just another one of THOSE black public figures to add to my list of jokers, such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Clarence Thomas, Louis Farrakhan, I guess, Don King, and whoever else, BECAUSE, for EVERY good point they make about race-relations here in America, there is ALWAYS some follow-up misconception they create in their own minds about it to top it off, and because of the fact that all of these same guys will talk endlessly about 'rising and overcoming' racism, this and that, but will still hold black people responsible for simply being born black (in their own words) and, that is enough to make me tune them out entirely...

besides, I don't need someone who has a famous name and big mouth telling me how to think, feel, and behave as a (young) black man, AND, no one speaks for ME unless I say they do, otherwise, they don't, and all of this 'one black man making all of us look bad' banter, is just more horse-shit to add to all the other horse-shit about how we should adhere to white supremacy in a variety of ways, from the daily subliminal messages we continue to receive, thanks to the American school system, American history, and mainly, the mass media.

I say think for yourself, black men and stop letting the media, liberals and other public figures think for you. Just because Al Sharpton or the media says something does not mean you do it. Although i must say that Al Sharpton, despite being a shit-stirrer himself, is very honest and upfront about his views and even though i do not like people or their opinions, i respect them for that one thing; sometimes even racists. :lol: :lol: :lol:

 

Larry is a shyt for brains azzhole that in time will get the same treatment JC Watts did from the republican party, BTW at the end of the day in white male power structure of america there's no such thing as Democrats or Republicans, it's the haves and the have nots.

 

As a "Have" I need have nots to work for me. I like Larry Elder, though as Ladeezman says, he is nothing compared to my Hero Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams, Shelby Steele, John McQuarter, Condi Rice, Armstrong Williams. I dont know what Elder said but I agree with what the Great William Bennett said and says.

Well that makes you a house negro because you couldn't pay William Bennett to say anything rasist about the Jews but he felt very at ease to say some shyt about Blacks that he can't prove without coming up with lies.

I dont know how it makes me a house negro, whatever that means. but we all either worked in the house or in the field, but we were all slaves. so sure I am a house negro, are you a field negro?? and what do you enjoy about being one?

and if you listened to William Bennett in context, it was clear he was making a example using that. there was nothing wrong with what he said in the entire context of the issue. So yes I agree, but i respect you for not agreeing.

Good for you, Tuck. But honestly, i am not too suprised you'd agree with him. Good rhythms though; thats your belief and i am under no right to challenge it. But God, im disappointed.

 

thats cool, i am disappointed that you dont think that there is diversity of thought on issues in the world. we as black people of african descent have a myriad of views that dont march lock step with the so called black leadership or forced by other blacks to follow the crowd.

what I am disappointed with is that blacks dont mind black on black crime, dont mind blacks holding other blacks back, dont mind the negative ghetto rap music, but they are angry with a black who doesnt toe the black line. I dont and sorry you feel disappointed, i respect you anyway, and your right to support others to name call but having words against me.

Bill Bennett said what he said and he was Right On. I dont expect everyone to agree with him or me. No one was whining about how wrong that jungle b--Kanye west for saying Bush hates black people. just because ray nagin and the Louisiana government didnt do their job as well, he just pointed out Bush because steppin fetchit could sell some albums.

I am from the South, Charleston, grew up there, went to college in both deep south and in New England.

I am east coast, born and bred--East Coast South CArolina born, but lived abroad and in Texas before Ivy league then New York and now Philadelphia

family has been in the Southeast since 1600s and other half in the deep south since 1700s
