rugby is "slowly" catching on, over in my side of Pa

I seen some high school boys practicing it, in an organized manner.

    Lacrosse is coming along too

"the" prep school (because I only know of one) around here, is known for having a football team, that "plays on a college level" (quoting my old ball coach, who "tried" to prepare us for game 1 of the season)

football and basketball are still big where I live, but like I said, I seen some guys on their high school field, doing rugby workouts

as for actually playing rugby, if there was an amateur league around here...

    hell no

    lol

those guys don't wear pads or decent helmets (note, decent, I seen some guys playing rugby with what looked to be vintage leatherhead football helmets)..I'd rather play organized football

yes, we had football at my prep school as well.

here as in dc, baltimore, boston and NYC we have rugby leagues outside of university
    for under 30 , over 30, over 40

    interesting...

I know some guys at my hospital play semi-pro football, with neighborhood teams, that compete against other neighborhoods...

    I never inquired about that...

something about walking around my job, with a leg in a cast (some of those guys still maintain good football sizes, like they stepped right off the Penn State Linebacker corp) that just seems unappealing to me

I like to play soccer also... I would do that, before going into something full-contact, while working a full-time job

yeah i love it and soccer, though i might be getting too old for rugger these days, my bones and muscles take a long time to feel comfortable again

    god i miss two-a-days

    lol

I remember waking up real early, to get to the field at like 6 in the morning. Sometimes we would head over to the weight room and lift, followed by running for the first half, then spend the next half on the field, running through drills. I used to get home around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. This was before the school year rolled around, during the late summer.

i do recall catching the bus quite often in dirty, sweaty clothes..

something about seeing dead mice in the lockerroom, that deterred me from washing up there

I recall smelling like bengay as well

i'd have to agree that i'd prefer a lover to a fighter. though it is nice knowing that there's a tough guy around to protect me if needed..

as for sports.. rugby isn't really big here in ks.. in lawrence anyway. we're mostly about football and basketball.. but hey. we're good at it.. can you say orange bowl champs (football) & national champs (basketball) ow ow!!

sorry.. that wasn't entirely necessary.. just have to represent every once and a while. 8)

What women say and what they're actually are attracted to are two different things. I'm the sensitive nerdy guy and I hate it. I can't get play for shizz.

The thing is, women are hard-wired to like their lovers tough and rugged. Once Mr "Lover" got his ass kicked, said woman isn't going to see him as a "Man" anymore, and there goes the attraction.

Take it from a dork, guys: develop your braun, not brains....

Eh...that may be true for some women, but I, for one, would rather have the brainy guy over the brawny guy.

I've been through too much crap over the years with guys, that I know what I want, and it won't change... :D

    Soulthinker, thanks! : )

    I agree with Bookworm616!

I'm an romantic old-fashioned kind of girl. I'd rather be seduced by clever verbiage than by a guy showing off his brawns.

ehhh, that's not too bad. it really just depends on the man, haha. i just don't like really huge, body-building types. muscles are nice, but i like a balance. i'm weird.
