What's so tough about about being upfront with a simple "I'm not interested"?

I was reading a post on another board about How many unreturned calls/texts do you make before you delete her number? and read this

A instance that happened to a friend recently...

I treated a close friend out to the bar this week. I grabbed us some drinks from the bar and there is this fine ass light skin chick eyeing me but I don't pay her any mind....I'm wet behind the ears when it comes to bars so I just took her glances as attention whoring. I return to my friend and give him a alert to check out chick.

So we start watching her and she's with a fine ass white friend too. All the dudes were getting at them in the bar but they were just rejecting them left and right. At one point, light skin walks past with some lame chasing her and they in the corner while he spitting at her. I'm really feeling my drink so i decide to eye fuck her to see if she returns the favor which she did while fake laughing at his jokes n rolling her eyes.

At this point, I'm getting hot as fuck. I'm in a suit in this urban bar sticking out like a sore thumb but decide to remove my jacket and dress shirt exposing the physique in my extra smedium t-shirt that I stole from my 2 year old's wardrobe. Chicks were like :smt107

So the two fine ass chick walk past with the white one saying something, I took that as my que and invite them over making them feel real comfortable. I introduce everyone with my plan to get my friend laid. I was the wingman and he was the pilot. We all laughin and having a good time, dudes were salty as fuck! :smt099 I tell the chicks if they are to drunk, they could have a hotel room on me...I rather you stay somewhere safely than put other lives at risk.

They both were like we want to get a room with y'all! So I'm like cool. The white chick was instantly attached to me. Light skin was a little peeved by that so she on the phone texting. I call her out on it saying "if you want to be like that just get the hell away from my table, we about having fun over here" She's like it's my mom :smt105 how about you get a room for your friend and I... Pretending to like him the rest of the night...she was so transparent.

Her friend leaves breifly for the bathroom and lightskin pulls me to side whispering in my ear "how about you and I get a room", I'm all like naw you got options I ain't stupid and know what you are all about and left to chat up some obese but cute in the face fat chick at the bar.

Long story short lol...got back to the hotel. White chick in bed all snuggled up with me, I'm trying not to fall asleep keeping an eye on everyone to make sure they behave. I peep that lightskin is pissed off that her friend is with me and she couldn't front liking my friend anymore, she goes beserk and storms out...along with her friend.

My friend was all upset with himself but had to let him know it happened to me a million n one times. People so damn fake sometimes. I text white chick and call her because I actually enjoyed her company but she never answers. 2 days later she going text me on some getting to know you shit but I deaded that from the start. Just told her I don't do phony ass people.

lol I want to, but I wanted to hear people's excuses from both sides why they couldn't be upfront with someone.

To answer the thread question, I only lead women on because I was to much of a chicken shit to tell them I wasn't interested. I guess in my head running away from them wouldn't hurt them as much as saying I don't like you.

Good story but this just proves exactly why I don't look to date someone I meet in a bar. Then again they're fake people everywhere. Light skin was probably textin someone she met online lol Its crazy out here fam!

    She never asked. ha [IMG]

Yeah it was way to easy to figure out, she had so many offers in the bar and went with her back up options.

I'm pretty upfront ALMOST to the point of being rude.

I told a woman "I think you are really a beautiful woman, but I can't listen to you talk your accent makes me think of the Dukes of Hazard"

I it is because I truly aren't looking for anything. I'm not putting on a mask I'm not trying to get my game on. I don't care. I tried that....

    ..(yall have no idea)

I like being just me. Chillin' at the bar, getting up in the middle of the JUST to take pictures of a bridge. I went to see a movie....and I didn't have to hunt for a date, I just called someone "want to go to a movie"....

....and when it was over, I dropped her off and took my ass home.

    "I don't get a kiss"
    "Do you want a kiss"
    "Yes, that would be nice"

...so I give her a nice polite, respectful kiss on the cheek

"Kisses are exchanged at the end of a date"
    "Babe this wasn't a date, I just didn't want to g alone"
"Ok, can I get a hug"
    "Nice hug, then the kiss"
"So am I going to get laid"

    lol..then she gets pissed

"Why do you say it like that"
"I just want to be upfront. I'm not going to come in, play the game, hopin' you grace me with some pussy...only to end my night with a hard one cuz you don't want to LOOk to easy"

    ..........she was mad

    I went home

    I didn't want none anyway.

I hear stories of this chick being like "I gave this guy my #" Basically bitching about him while leading him on and I am like "Why not just tell him outright your not interested?" To which I get the response "I dont wanna make him feel bad." They then look at me like Im from another planet when I say "Dont you think it hurts more when you manipulate them and they find out you were bsing?" I am then looked at as if Im a martian.

If I feel uncomfortable about simply saying I'm not interested, I will say that I am interested in someone else. That may not be quite the truth (if I don't have a specific person that I'm interested in), but in general, if he is not what I'm interested in it's because I'm looking for something else.

I've told men right up front that I'm not interested and why, and they still pursue. Why is that? I recently met someone online and he's a smoker. That's a deal breaker for me and I told him that when I returned his initial email. Now, he is also a fan of the kind of music I like, and most people I know are not. I asked him if he would be open to just a platonic relationship, maybe catching some concerts together. He said yes, but also continued to pursue the romantic side, even after I made it clear I wasn't interested. Finally, I just started to ignore him and that's not something I like to do.

I know, I took this topic down a bunny trail. Sorry...
