After being turned down for parole 16 times, Malcolm X's only confessed assassin is about to gain his freedom.

Thomas Hagan has been held since moments after shots rang out in the Audubon Ballroom in 1965. He has been on work release for more than two decades, but he still spends two days a week locked up at the Lincoln Correctional Facility on West 110th Street in Manhattan.

On March 3, however, on his 17th try, Mr. Hagan was granted parole, the State Division of Parole said. His final release date is tentatively scheduled for April 28. The news was reported Thursday on The Village Voice’s Runnin’ Scared blog.

Mr. Hagan, who turned 69 in jail on Tuesday, was a militant member of the Nation of Islam on Feb. 21, 1965, when Malcolm X was shot while giving a speech at the Audubon, in Washington Heights. Mr. Hagan, then known as Talmadge X. Hayer, was captured by the crowd and shot at and beaten before being rescued by the police.

I hope and pray that somone kill his ass out of prison. Thousands of misfits like him die every year, he would be just one more as far as I'm concern. I know it's harsh, but that is life. Malcolm X is one of my idols. He must be avenged.

No, fuck him! why should he be allowed to live when he took a life of a leader? He did not just kill an average ordinary joe schmo citizen, he killed a freedom fighter for many folks. He killed a man who sacrificed his family life and happiness for equality of millions. He robbed Malcolm years of his life and put his family in agnoy. Fuck him, fry his ass and deprive him oxygen. Nobody's gonna kill this guy. He's home free. This generation couldn't give two shits about Malcolm. They're too busy praising Tupac and keeping up with Lil Wayne's jail time and babymamas.

I'm sorry but he served 45 years in prison. The best years of his life are long gone. Would can be gained by taking his life. What threat is he?
Unchosen I'm sorry but I live by the buddahist principles that state all life is precious so to me it doesn't matter who he killed. He committed murder and did his time. What do you think should be done at this point. How else can justice be served?

Amen brother. This worthless shit should die. He and the other conspirators who he never revealed changed the course of history in the black struggles of the 1960's. I'm sure this worthless shit gave other assassins the inspiration that would kill Dr. King and others.

He is 69, dammitt, not a 104... what do you mean the best years of his life are gone? that is an utter BS. I have seen a 71 yo man graduate from prestigous law school. Tony Randal had his 1st child in his 70's. Didnt we see a 73 yo man run for the biggest job in the country against a 46 yo man? ISnt Heffner 85?? while enjoying 18 yo hot twins in his bed. His best years are not over. Age is nothing but a number. It is a state of mind. It all depends how well you took good care of your mind and body. This guy can be come Nuclear physicist at 80 if he wishes, so why are we giving him a chance. I am a Christian but a logical one, I say fuck him, fry his ass!

Wow how Christian of you fam. Thou shalt not kill unless I say so huh
Everything you described requires money. Where is a 69 year old black ex con going to find work. Businesses would be scared to hire him because of how high profile is. I get what did was a horrible crime but didn't Jesus say to er is human but to forgive is divine. Where's the forgiveness? Besides there are men who have raped or killed innocent children and get out so based on that logic why shouldn't he get out?
