If you go see the monument, you will see the civil rights leader carved from a 30-foot-tall piece of granite that has come out of, but is separate from two larger granite pieces. The inspiration for the monument came from King’s own words in his famous “I Have a Dream” speech from 1963, in which he said, “With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.”

The one that I'll single out is:

My dream for changing the world is for people from all nations to live in peace. There would be no wars, enough food and water for the people. No families would have to live in the street, too. All cultures would be respectful and learn from each other. Children would have great schools to attend. All countries would have a leader who cares for the people and provides opportunities to make a living.
